Just seven miles east of El Paso's city center lies the community of Stonehaven. Stonehaven is a quiet, suburban escape from the bustling downtown area where many residents work. With a low cost of living, Stonehaven’s rentals are affordable to mid-range. Along with proximity to downtown, renters are attracted to plenty of amenities not far from their homes. There are several restaurants and retailers located along Gateway Boulevard which makes up Stonehaven’s southern border. Stonehaven is also adjacent to the El Paso Community College and Cielo Vista Mall. Great for out-of-state travel, Stonehaven is only 15 minutes away from the El Paso International Airport.

Property Ratings at The Citadel
The only reason I put 2 stars instead of 1 is because the maintenance man was amazing. Super friendly! Always nice. Just a very good guy. For one my bathroom wall was all but destroyed by rain water, and I get it, stuff happens. I submitted a work order, got a dehumidifier and cleaned it up as best I could, but they didn't really fix anything until I told them that there was a mushroom coming out of the wall. (Nothing against the Maintenance guy, one guy can only do so much) The "Show" apartment was very nice. Very clean. I didn't expect mine to be quite as nice, but I also didn't expect it to be as gross as it was. 1st day there was a dead roach on the counter, stains in several places on the carpet, and a smell. It was quite the smelly smell, and I never completely got rid of it. And I tried everything. At one point I had someone living with me and I asked if I could switch to a 2 bedroom. They said I could put in a request and wait 60 days and move, but I would have to pay for both apartments until someone moved into the first one, so he slept on the couch for like 5 months until I got married and moved in with my wife and he with his sister. When I finally got out of that place, I did not get the carpet cleaned "as per my moveout agreement", and I left a hole in the wall. When I say hole, I mean 3 holes where I mounted my tv. Very small. and I only had one of the keys to turn in at the end. I get it, I did not expect to get out of there for free, but $720.42 plus the 200(something) deposit I didn't get back seems a bit high. Oh, and I came home one night to find a homeless man sitting outside my door. Drunk out of his mind, and happy as could be. I gave him a burrito... rooky mistake as I now know... I had 2.... what was I supposed to do... lol The moral of this story though is that he left behind a smell that was more than smelly. And his sent lingers there to this day. The apartment sprayed some stuff after I complained about the smell. After that it just smelled the same, but with a hint of Lilac. Do not recommend, but that was my only experience in an apartment, so I have nothing else to compare it to.
The buildings are old. They only have one quarter dispensing machine and a bunch of washing rooms that aren't maintenanced properly. This past winter one of the the laundry units went up in flames and it took them a couple of months to actually replace the broken equipment. There's animal excrement everywhere, their pools and community areas are disgusting and under cleaned. But I think I could forgive all of that if there wasn't only one entrance. It's literally one way in and out with tall speed bumps and a maze of apartments that you have to navigate through everyday just to leave the complex. They also have a major issue with their maintenance staff marking work orders as complete without actually having done any of the orders. This is also apart from the fact that they have water outages very frequently, and on going investigation with a gas leak that has yet to be resolved. All I'm gonna say is be ready to pay rent that goes up an additional $10 once you plan to renew and to have roaches and over painted, damaged counter tops to keep you company. ?? Ps- they also only accept money orders and have a faulty app that charges you an additional 6 dollars to use when you pay your rent online. This app also does not disclose details as to what fees you're paying for on your monthly rent.
Negligent staff members and very poor customer service.
This place was horrible from day one. Poor management, crappy apartments, amenities were always broken, closed or unavailable. Screwed me at move out and every step along the way. Sink and bath tub never worked right even though I asked for them to be fixed multiple times. Find somewhere else. This place is not good! Heated pool was rarely open so dont let that be a selling point for you!
I highly recommend coming to The Citadel. The apartments are very spacious with affordable pricing. Petrina was very sweet and very knowledgeable about the apartments. She made my application and move in process a breeze.
I have lived here for 30 years and I love it! Of course, I've seen some ups and downs, but in the past few years it's been really nice. The new manager Amanda is doing a great job, she is always very nice and helpful, and the improvements she is making are very good. Tommy, the lead maintenance man, has done a fantastic job and I can always rely on him for just about everything. He goes out of his way to get the job done. I always recommend The Citadel to my friends, it is a great place to live. My favorite thing is the indoor pool.
Can I just say how much I LOVE the indoor pool. It's an awesome thing to have, my family always comes over to swim, and in the winter it's the best thing. My kiddos love it and so does the hubby. Staff is nice, maintenance is great, and I get my own parking. I love my home here and Im excited to see the upgrades that we'll be receiving it too. They were telling us that we are getting a cyber café! That would be awesome.
First, I have lived here for 11 years now, and does anyone actually think I would still be here if the apartments were not good enough for my family? Of course not. The problem of the staff, and the timeliness of fixing work orders depends on who is in charge at that moment. If Integrity has a problem, it is the constant changing of it's managers. I actually love this place, and I can tell you we have had pretty good managers lately, and Amanda, who is presently in charge, is the best we've every had. I don't say this lightly, and I really shouldn't say it at all, because I'm afraid they will put her someplace else. I have never had much of a problem with work orders, like everything else, you have to put a priority stamp on things. If a kitchen light bulb goes out and they need maintenance work on someone's toilet or air conditioning, who do you think should have that priority? Last night at midnight there was water dripping heavily from the upstairs air conditioning unit into my air conditioning. I called the emergency #, and no more than 10 minutes later got a call from a maintenance man who said he was outside my door. He looked at my problem, shut off the air upstairs, fixed the problem, and said a polite goodbye. It doesn't get any better than that. But that isn't just one person, all the maintenance crew is like that to me, and instead of thinking they are just there to take care of me and mine, I think of them all as friends, just like I do with the office staff. Always nice, polite and thinking of me. Every morning I swim in the indoor pool and look forward to when Tommy, the head of maint, comes in, and we have a short conversation while he makes sure the pool is OK. That pool is the only one in an apartment complex, and I love it, along with the underground parking. There is always going to be something that bothers people, and for me it's the noise from other apartments, and kids yelling and screaming outside, but they are kids, and if it's in the day time, I don't mind. I am able to hear pretty much everything that goes on above me, but that's a tenant problem, and if you ask nicely most of the time you get a positive response. If not, see the manager. Recently I have had heard nothing after 10 outside which is kind of unusual. Bet I can thank Amanda for that. I like it here, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone.
I would be lying if I said everything was perfect, however, no one is ever clearly perfect. I will be honest and say that I really like my apartment. The staff is nice, work orders get done fairly quickly. I don't have to worry about parking. They have a bunch of laundry rooms too so anytime I need my clothes clean I get it done. Things are starting to look better around the property too. I have and continue to recommend family and friends here. (Free money)
I've been living at The Citadel for a year and a half and I absolutely love it! Spacious floorplans, awesome staff plus the HEATED INDOOR POOL is our favorite. We have a reserved spot in front of our apartment which is a big help with groceries and the kiddo. Like all places, nothing is perfect, but the sure try to be just that. I will be here for as long as they'll have me and my family!
I'm really pleased with the choice I made ton live here. We have lived here exactly one month. Leslie at the front desk was so helpful and she ensured that we were taken care of before moving in and we were so excited about the new carpet. .The staff is friendly as well. The kids love the pools and it very close to schools. Before I moved here I heard alot of people say that its a great place to live and they were right. We're military family and we are really pleased.
I have been living in my spacious 2 br 1 1/2 ba townhouse for about 2 months now, and I still have absolutely nothing really horrible to say. The move in was no fuss. We applied and the same day we were called and told we were approved. They had a great Move in special that weekend so we moved right away. The property has 2 pools, 1 indoor, 1 out. The town house is very spacious upstairs and downstairs. No on suite bathroom in the master room but there is a HUGE walk in closet and a smaller second closet in the master bedroom. the second bedroom is about the same size as the master with a balcony with a great view of the mountains. Various laundry rooms on site as well as a couple of club houses by the pool. ALSO a gym on site! NO LOUD NEIGHBORS would probably be the best part. Anybody would enjoy living here.
I went to see these apartments and they have a great community and everything is near by the apartments need a little fixer upper like vents carpet and that's it and more people who work there cause they took 45 mins to get us
Great complex two swimming pools. One indoor and heated. They advertised at 24 hour gym but I haven't actually checked if accessible 24 hrs :) Great staff, no problems. Once you get used to the merry go round of faces. It's a sizable complex. Repairs are done... Multiple Laundry facilities on site. Open 24 hrs. It's completely safe to do a load when the urge hits at 1 am. Thanks to the low crime and disturbances. Neighbors are considerate. Private yet helpful. But. What I love the most aside from the family of cats here. Is that this apartment complex is in the best location. Near two malls. The airport, great restaurants, you name everything is in reach. These apartments are not run of the mill. These apartments are homes.
