Property Ratings at The Colony
Pros: it has spacious rooms, and everything you need is near by. Cons: The apartments are very old. It doesn't have ceiling lights or ceiling fans. ROACH infested, large rat running around the complex (Roof, trees). Landscaping needs a lot of work, the pool areas need a lot attention. Its not gated so you have people come to the pool that don't even live here. Limited parking (Expect you to pay for covered parking). The windows are thin and the electricity bill can get high. Best invest in black out curtains, like I did.
Bogus fee’s are added to your rent for utilities you may not even use as much. AC keeps breaking and no one cares to make sure it’s properly fixed. The rent is too high for such old apartments with too many maintenance issues. Customer service is not 100 %. Noise level is horrible especially at nights people are hanging around drinking and playing loud music. There’s never any parking for people who actually live here . Roaches are never going to go away! Just run! Don’t make the same mistake.
No air conditioning since THURSDAY. Today is SATURDAY. Called again and again to get this handled. Excuse after excuse. "The maintenance man lives on the other side of town." What does that matter? It doesn't get the A/C fixed. IT IS NOT OK! THIS IS TEXAS IN AUGUST. THE TEMPERATURE IS OVER 100° !!!!
place has a serious cockroach problem, rude staff, over priced rooms, and constant construction.
The apartment is very old, noisy neighbors. I called the office to complaints about the noise at midnight, office didn't do anything about it. During winter i have no hot water for one week, i called to find out why , (not hot water) the lady who answered the phone put me on hold and didn't come back . I finally went to the office and told them that they are not professional at all. Having no hot water for one week i was expecting at least a notice that they are having a major problem with the outlet or something. I would not recommend this apartment to any renters.
Very nice staff and they care about their tenants. Apartments may be a bit older buy they are clean and kept up. There are tenant events and specials. Feels like home.
Not bad so far. Been living here for about a month. My husband and I did a quick walk through after getting our keys as we were not going to be moving furniture in until the day after. The sink disposal worked for about 2.5 seconds before giving up. The floor was dirty and needed a good mopping. (or swiffering) The kitchen is small but workable and needs appliance upgrading. The dish washer has been working well. I was pleasantly surprised with the bathroom. It is a little small but seems to have been upgraded. However, there was a wasp in the bathroom that we came across during our walk through and we have seen only one other wasp since then. The towel rack came clean off when I tried to slip a towel on it and the toilet paper holder is not far behind. The first time I took a shower the water alternated between hot and cold but has not done it since. You have to jiggle the toilet handle to make the water stop running which can get a little annoying. My husband and I also noticed an old wasp nests in between the blinds and the window after a week of living here. (Gross) The walls are pretty thin and you can hear your neighbor flush the toilet. I think the rent is high for our tiny apartment. The grounds are nice and well maintained. I like the mini laundromats that are strewn throughout the complex so each apartment has one nearby. We always seem to be able to find a parking space close by which is nice. I find these apartments decent but would not recommend them to people without warning them that these are not by any means luxury apartments and you will come across some difficulties during your stay.
Its cozy and feels like home friendly community and a very dependable maintenance staff. Enjoy the fitness room and the free coffee as well
The gym has half functioning equipment and people from outside the property just come in and use the playground, basketball court, and swimming pools. I.E. no security. They just implemented a remote key system for the gym that you have to pay $50 for and the equipment has been clearly vandalized. The covered parking needs maintenance done to it, especially the lighting. The rates on this page are out of date and have gone up by at least $50. This place is to small for pets and the people here do not pick up after them.
Moved into the Sable Ridge apartments at the end of January 2015. The staff is especially helpful and we'll I formed. Ms. Pam I'd the go to girl for anything you need as well as Ms. Brenda. The neighborhood is very quiet, no noisy neighbors on our end at all. And plenty of kids for the young ones to make friends. Theres a pool, a gym, and pretty much anything you need. Maintenance has never failed to come the day after we put in a work order. I am extremely satisfied with the service here
I have been job apartment hunting all over town and never came across a place like this community . :) they have standards in which you can take note while many others say they are number one but looks say another. The staff is very friendly, caring and compassionate . They don't talk above you unlike some staff at other apartment complexes they speak at your level. :)
I moved to Sable Ridge Apartments at the beginning of March, this year. My last apartments were difficult to live in so I was thrilled when maintenance issues were handled very promptly here. The apartments are located less than 6 blocks from an H.E.B. grocery store, and even closer to other amenities like restaurants, auto repair, gym, etc. I've not used the pool, but I hear people it in when I go to check my mail. They all seem to be having a great time. These are older buildings, and sometimes things need to be repaired, but the maintenance people are out, usually the next day, if not the same day, to fix what needs to be fixed. I am so glad I chose Sable Ridge when I moved!
Do not live in this complex it is roach infested, the lawns are covered in dog stool, and theft happens in the parking lot.
