They try to trick you. They tell you one thing verbally then ask you if they gave you in writing....dog mess allover the place and they do nothing about it. This suppose to be a "smoke free" compound but they do nothing about that either....we got a dirty broken toilet, broken microwave dirty carpet smokey apartment which cause us and the kids the be sick for the few months we stayed until we were tired of going to the doctor....they put too much what ever in the swimming pool and my daughter lost vision temporarily...they keep coming to spray for bugs but it seems it's feed they feeding them instead.....it's a rip off.....the best Manager they had she left....prob because of the others toxic in-fighting, we had to rent a carpet cleaning machine and do it ourselfs to be able to stay the few months we did, we moved in with a broken AC and molds filled the apartment, now we moved as previous manager said we could and these new guys trying to rip us off for moving from where we could not even breath....STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE......and/or never do long term with them. If you absolutely must, do month to month because you will soon have to run...PS. expect noise from apartment above the slightest move they move its loud below, and watch out for off leash dogs, they attached my daughter....I'm also still waiting for "air test" they said they did....even after I've moved they cannot present it....they won't take responsibility for anything....they don't care about anyone, your just an apartment # and a cheque to them. Your quality of living done NOT matter to them. They LIE ALL the way....!!

This apartment complex has so much potential but unfortunately doesn't have the proper management team to maintain the property. Since my son and daughter in law moved here they have had their car hit 2 times due to lack of space in parking lot. They also have roaches so bad!! The poor management team has called out the Regional Manager and they have walked the property and saw the bugs. They sprayed and assured them they would be gone. Well the roaches haven't slowed down. My daughter in law is pregnant and they have a 2 year old and this is not safe for them. They spraying that isn't fixing the problem or the bugs carrying germs. I am very disappointed in the apartment management. We have offered to pay a early termination fee to get them out of the apartments but now they are asking for 2 months rent as well, for the 60 day notice clause. Well we will be contacting the Health Department tomorrow and seeking an attorney to discuss our options. I bet if the regional manager and local managers had to live in those bug infested apartments with their kids they would have a different attitude towards their tenants. Stay clear of these apartments!!!!
Horrible roach infestation issues with multiple tenants here. Management seems to not care and will not help other than a weekly spray.
I just renewed for the 3rd time because I absolutely love it here. The ladies in the leasing office are very professional, friendly, very helpful, and attentive!! One of my main reasons for choosing this complex is because Eboney was so fantastic & helpful. That was before I’d even looked at the apartments. These ladies are hard working and are very good with communication! If there’s a need to have maintenance come to your unit, they are there in a very timely manner! All of the guys who help keep this place running smoothly are very nice and they have always explained what they need to do, what they’re going to do, and how they’re going to do it. I really haven’t had to call maintenance to my unit except for a couple of times for the A/C - once, because the power had gone out & I didn’t know about the “hold” option lol and once when my A/C froze during that 100° heat index week we had a few weeks ago but it was fixed ASAP. My only “cons” have more to do with some of the residents here. 1) some of the dog owners are too lazy to grab a bag from one of the many well placed stations around the complex to pick up their dog’s poop. Grab a few, tie them to your dog’s leash so you’ll have them when you walk your dog or just don’t have a dog. 2) some of the residents are lazy when it comes to throwing their trash out. They don’t properly toss the bag all of the way in & it gets piled up and blocked then left for maintenance to clean up. Maintenance already works hard enough in this heat. They shouldn’t have to clean up just because people are too lazy to dispose of their trash properly.
I want to start off this review by saying this is my experience, I'm not sure what others have experienced with this apartment complex, but I do feel an obligation to anyone looking at these apartments to share mine. When I viewed the property the staff was very friendly and accommodating. They explained everything in detail, and really seemed to be on top of everything. I decided to lease a 2 bedroom 2 bath, when doing the walk through of my actual unit there was an overwhelming smell of smoke, the leasing consultant told me the husband had smoked and she'd make sure maintenance got the smell out before my move in date. On my move in the date the smell was still there, and machine they were using to deodorize the air was broken. I had to call my movers and postpone my move in date so they could purchase a new fuse for the machine. No real sympathy was shown. That night I went back to the apartment to see if the machine was working properly so I could move in the next day. To my surprise my apartment was INFESTED with bugs, I wish that I could upload the video so you all could see with your own eyes. I again had to cancel my movers, which was costly. I called on Thursday morning to inform them my apartment was unlivable and they said "pest control doesn't come until Monday" - "so do you just want to cancel your move" After transferring all my utilities, buying new furniture specifically for this apartment... I was pretty much brushed off, due to no fault of my own. I was not offered reimbursement for my troubles such as the movers deposit and transferring of the utilities fees, I was just given my deposit back. These are beautiful apartments and the staff is very nice however, I think the fault lies within leadership and taking accountability. I wouldn't move here if you want a staff that is attentive, and values you as a tenant. Very stressful and disappointing experience.
My girlfriend and I have been looking at apartments in our area for about two and a half months. Each one had cons that far outweighed the pros. We knew with certain complexes that after the first few minutes, it wasn't the right fit. We almost settled for an apartment complex just down the road from the Columns. After giving up on apartments in this area, my girlfriend persuaded me to look at one more place. It was brand new and only had a few residents. We took a rushed tour (because I had to be at work) and asked a few questions. I sent my girlfriend up with a list of 40 or so questions and she came back with answers for all but 1! Within a week, we toured the apartment, put in an application and signed a lease! It's a great community and I love the choice we made in moving here. The amenities are amazing and the staff can help you with just about anything you need. Heather is so down to earth and tells you how it is. Best choice I think I've made!
