For the most part, I love living here. It is an older apartment building, but because of that, the rent is a lot lower then other complexes in the area. The staff is great and maintenance is fairly quick with request. My biggest complaint is the new bar that just opened up across the street. It has made parking a nightmare and has heavily increased the traffic around the building. Other than that, I have had a great experience.
Where do I begin? There is at least 1-2 felony thefts at this property a week. Check the HPD Crime reports for the address of the garage and its all there, public record. My car has been theft and there has been at least 6 vehicles that I have personally seen sitting on blocks (tires stolen) and windows smashed. I know a brand new $80k truck just went missing one morning, I spoke to the owner about it. I can only imagine how many more vehicles are hit and I just haven't heard about. There is zero security presence. I recommend living somewhere with an actual patrolling GUARD. Avoid this place unfortunately. Its a nice apartment if it wasn't for the crime. Again, find a place with a actual GUARD. Everyone is nice here, but they won't front the bill for an actual guard.
I fell for it. They request their tenants leave great reviews in exchange for a chance to win free beer or wine. They call it free beer Friday’s. The office management is terrible, but the front desk ladies and maintenance were excellent. They are dealing with foundation issues, so their apartments are crumbling. Stay far away from this place unless you want cracks going up walls, through your floors and across to the other side of your apartment in multiple places.
The management is awful! No improvements after half a dozen cars left on blocks with the wheels stolen! This place is a hot spot for theft! The leasing agent left her keys on her desk and her car was stolen in the middle of the day?! The camera's don't work in the garage! This happened probably 6 times while I was there. Cars vandalized and windows broken out. The upkeep on the landscape is simply laughable. If you have a dog, the dog parks reek of pee and poop from people not picking up after their pets. Pools are overcrowded as everyone invites their friends and their friends invite their friends. Alot of noise in the hallways so expect to have no peace and quiet. Hallways are not cleaned regularly so expect to see it....
location is great, and that's about it. this place is not safe!!! just in 2018 there has been several break ins.Yes, this is common in Houston, but the consistency in which is happening at this complex is of a concerned. just in the first week of March, 4 vehicles were vandalized, there is also a Honda Civic (looks like 2018) missing all 4 wheels right now. They always send very nice emails about "proactive steps" they are taking to avoid this from happening again, but obviously nothing ever changes. A big problem is that their gates facing the street are super easy to climbed up and the doors to the hallways and the garage are not secured (they don't lock)... I counted at least 5 times last year that the gate to the garage was broken. Every now and then, they will hire temp security but it never lasts too long. their garage is dirty, overall maintenance of public areas is obviously not a priority. if you are looking for affordable living in a centric location, the Core is for you. If you want a safe, clean, modern living, look elsewhere. I know I'm moving out as soon as my lease is up.
What can I say, The Core is nothing short of amazing! The communities location is absolutely wonderful and conveniently placed near some of Houston's best restaurants, nightlife venues, parks, and highway accessibility. The Core has also upheld the quality of their interior and exterior areas both in my personal apartment and even in the common areas which is very impressive. Even if there are any minor situations that may arise, the staff have always been more than informative, kind, and swift to find great solutions. Thus far, I have been nothing but impressed, satisfied, and thankful to have found my home here at The Core.
Great location! Earon is very easy to get along with and very willing to help. The apartments have high cielings with nice, up to date kitchens. Hallways are pretty quiet and could never hear my neighbors!
I have lived here for over a year and have even signed a new lease because I like it so much! Its location is convenient for shopping and night life. The apartments are clean and I love the high ceilings! Leasing office staff are very friendly and go above and beyond. The maintenance staff is quick to help with any issues you may have. The pool and fitness center are clean and convenient. All appliances in apartment were new and up to date.
The staff at the core is super helpful, and you can't beat the location on Washington! Since moving in there have been a couple issues, but all have been dealt with in a timely manner ( which we very much appreciate). We renewed our lease a few months ago, and will all the options available, this says a lot.
I have been living here for about a month and so far have nothing but rave reviews for this place. The apartment itself has been perfect. The complex works out great for me since it is super close to hike & bike trails (Memorial & White Oak Bayou are both 1/2 mile away), has a lap pool completely separate from the resort-style pool, and is super close to shopping and dining. I can literally walk out the gate and across the street to 3 restaurants & a Walmart is just around the corner. Plus, if any of the walking distance places aren't to your liking, a short drive or Uber will get you anything else you'd like in regards to dining, shopping and/or nightlife. Aside from the complex details, the staff have been amazing! The ladies up front (Chandler, Ashley & Madison) have always been super welcoming every time I stop by for a package. Ashley was my initial contact who sold me on the complex and made the rental process super easy but, all three have done some great follow up and make me feel at home every time I see them. It really makes a difference!
I moved here about a month ago, and contrary to below reviews I think the place is awesome and for a good rate! My buddies come over and I even referred someone already and they gave me $250.00. I met some of my neighbors at Taps for a resident appreciation thing and everyone is super nice. I love the location, so many places to walk to.
The location is perfect however, this complex still has a lot of much needed changes. I have lived here for a year & have noticed no major changes except the outside of the building being painted. The parking garage is a mess in it's own. Cars getting broken into, stolen & abandoned. Management is well aware of the problems within the garage but since I have lived here, nothing has been addressed. There are constantly workers (painters) walking around the building & taking lunch on the stairs of the garage. The dog park area is filthy & not cared for properly. It should at minimum get sprayed down every so often as it smells horrible. For the most part the residence are extremely nice however I have heard several fights happen in the swimming pool area & on the street in between the buildings. Security is a joke & comes whenever he pleases. When he's there he can be found walking up & down the street on his cell phone. Over all, the only real issue here is management. I believe once they address the problems, this place will be the perfect home for anyone. The actual units are nice & maintenance fixes any issues pretty quickly. Just once you step out of your door, you're almost Guareentee to encounter something.
Location is good. The demographic is ok but much better a year ago. Walls are fairly thin so able to hear above and side neighbors frequently.
We have been set up for a couple of weeks now. So far, so good. Highly recommended. The staff is very friendly and attentive. They made sure all of our questions were answered promptly and even called us on move in day to check in and make sure our needs were met. The location is great with easy access to I-10. Plenty of restaurants and bars in close proximity. Spotts park is a 5 minute bike ride away with convenient connection to Buffalo Bayou park. No complaints here. The apartment itself has a perfect layout for roommates. Granite counter tops and laminate wood floors are included in our unit. Best of all, the pricing is very competitive. Only downside is the walk to the garage is a bit lengthy, but most of us could use the exercise. 5/5. Could not be happier!
