Property Ratings at The Courtyards Apartment Homes
This is the worst possible place you can live in. Parking sucks. Ive had my car get hit. The people who work maintenance just stare at you. People in the office are no help. No smoking community but yet our neighbors smoked causing our living room to smell and no one did anything about it. Homeless are always walking in because the gates never work. I’ve had my storage broken into. The gym suck, has no equipment should not even be called a gym. My floor is uneven. Always have to make work request because something is always breaking. Rooms have no type of lights. Do not recommend here especially if you have a family.
I really enjoy living here, actually came on here to see other apartments cause looking for something with a yard. The leasing office staff is very nice and always say hi to me. Any time I need maintenance work they come in within the week and fix it. I have a dog and a cat who like hanging out by the window and ppl who pass by always say hi to them. Looking for a yard for my dog but might end up just applying for a transfer to another apartment within the same complex.
This place is absolutely horrible, a joke!!!!!!! Don't judge a book by it's cover. The property management have fixed up the outside to look immaculate. They focus on the exterior but neglect the serious issues with the interior of the apartments. There is a serious roach problem and they deal with it so lightly when you report it by scheduling a visit with their contracted exterminator which is useless because it does not get rid or control the problem. The maintenance is done very poorly. During COVID they rented to anyone without the proper screening. This building was nice and quiet the first year I moved in but now in 2021 The Courtyards is the worse place to rent. The most stressful part of living here was dealing with Robin in the leasing office. She is definitely in the wrong profession because she has no customer service skills what so ever!! In closing, if you think you'll get your security deposit back, think again because they will cheat you out every dime so don't depend on it.
Constantly having trouble with not water. Water shut off just about every 3 months for plumbing issue. Aggressive animals here that are not on lesh. Cars broken into on several occasions to different tents. If many people live in one unit,or empty space your water bill is equal to everyone else that may have more occupant than u may have. Noise kids running around late at nights. Not to forget the smoking of weed that comes through walls and windows.
We complained to the property manager Robin about problems with roaches THE FIRST DAY WE MOVED IN. The apartment was completely empty we had not put any of our stuff in yet and she got very defensive stating that we had brought the roaches with us. During the winter time the apartment gets so cold that the walls feel wet FROM THE INSIDE and the floors feel wet as well. This caused a horrible problem with mold in the bedrooms. Again, Robin blamed that on us as well. Homeless people swim in the pool, dig through trashes, and break into cars DAILY.
I contemplated for a few months now on whether I should post this review or not. I finally decided that I'm just going to write an honest review with all of the information I would have liked to know prior to renting. My boyfriend and I rented an upstairs one bedroom unit in August of 2017. We only lasted 7 months. Important things you should know: -The homeless population is VERY high in the area. I often saw people digging through the dumpsters in the complex and sleeping in front of the entrance gate. I woke up to over 5-6 cars, on different occasions during the months I was there, that had been broken into the previous night. MY CAR WAS ALSO BROKEN INTO in my own covered parking spot behind the gate. The gate had been broken for a few days so anyone was able to walk right in. When I reported it to Robin, the apartment manager, she responded defensively saying the gate had only been broken for two days. That wasn't true but either way, it only took one day for someone to break into my car and steal my belongings. -NO HEAT FOR 6 MONTHS. Our heater stopped working just in time for the fall and winter months so we put in a service request. They came out about 3 different times, each time saying it was working but it always stopped the day after. There were dark, hardwood floors so it got very cold in our apartment in the mornings and evenings. So cold to the point where we had to USE OR OVEN FOR HEAT each day. Eventually we had to call the city to come and correct a gas leak that we smelled one evening. They told us that the whole heater needed to be repaired. We brought this to the attention of the manager who explained to us that it wasn't really their fault since "there was a different issue with the heater every time". Duh! This means the heater was broken! We couldn't take anymore of the feelings of being unsafe and cold so we legally broke our lease (even though management tried to fight us so hard on this). Under California law, the unit was inhabitable. We moved into a beautiful apartment in Culver City and haven't looked back since! They do keep the grounds clean but other than that, this place was the most uncomfortable apartment complex I've ever lived in. My advice, if you're looking to save money on an apartment like we were, keep looking. It's just not worth all of the other things that come with it.
Forgive my exuberance but I just love living here. Two members of my family have physical disabilities. Because of the daily upkeep of the grounds I feel safe taking my adult charges for a walk on the grounds. In addition, I received approval to add grab bars to the bathroom to ensure their safety. Maintenance installed them for me and did a beautiful job. The new office staff Ashley & Diamond are very friendly, professional, and provided readily the information I was seeking today. But most of all I appreciate Robyn the complex manager. We have too very large apartment buildings and she is very efficient in the handling of both properties, being very familiar with the needs of her tenants and working closely with office and maintenance staff. If your looking for a park like setting with lots of plants, trees, clean pools, etc this is definitely the place to live.
This apartments has pros and cons The cons are they have huge water bugs that come into your apartment and hide in room! Also have roaches that hide in the kitchen and the closets! The community manager is rude Not enough parking for your guest/ tenants only received one assigned parking Homeless people and drug addicts walk right pass the leasing office to dig inside the large blue trash bins. Also multiple break ins with tenants cars. Pros The area of the apartment and the amenities far as the pools.
to be honest I like these apartments but it is not worth the money. I have only been living for a year and my rent is scheduled to go up 5% and if this keeps going on I won't be able to afford to stay. Also, there too many spiders all over and the giant cockroaches are to be found all over the premises . also silverfish are constantly inside the home. From a quick day tour everything looks good but at night critters just keep coming out. If you are really interested ask for sheduled yearly rent increases. fumigation schedules. and anything else that would add additional costs after one year. keep in mind I have personally spend a couple hundred dollars just to spray outside my door. idk if this place is already stretching your budget then I would say skip it because you may not be able to afford it after the first year.
I have been living at The Courtyards in Norwalk for seven months now, and I continue to be impressed with the care and efficiency that the management and its maintenance team shows on a daily basis. The grounds are maintained beautifully, the common areas - laundry room, pools, etc. - are kept clean and working properly. I see the maintenance crew every day making the rounds and taking care of any problems that arise. Any issues that I have brought to their attention have been responded to quickly and courteously. When I moved in, the apartment I rent had just recently been renovated with new flooring, kitchen, and ceiling fans. I see other apartments being constantly updated as the tenants move out of the older units. I thank Robyn, Pedro, Luis, Oscar and all the others for their hard work to keep life at The Courtyards as pleasant as it has been for me. Even their smiles make a difference. Recommended.
I generally have no complaints about Tierra Palms/ Courtyard Apartments. The walls are very soundproof, although I can hear the person above me walking-so the soundproof isn't great between the ceiling and floors. The living room, bathroom, and kitchen are wood floors, the bedrooms are carpet. Anyway, it's a clean area-the maintenance is friendly and service usually is fast. The office staff are friendly and we haven't had any issues. The neighbors usually keep to themselves and are quiet for the most part. The grounds have a dog station with baggies and a little trash can. There are no bugs-just ants in the summer but it wasn't a problem. There are spiders though; my daughter woke up to a spider bite on her leg but it went away later that day. Your packages are allowed to be delivered to your door without a problem. The entrance has an electronic gate. You must enter a numeric code to get into the the walk-in gate. There are several stores like Walgreens, CVS, Waba Grill, and Chuck E Cheese within walking distance. Yes, I would recommend this place. Don't be put off by the train tracks that are less than a block away. The train passes by 3 times a day but we barely hear it.
Me, my girlfriend and business partner moved to Los Angeles from Chicago. Unfamiliar with the area, this community is situated on one of the nicer, renovated areas in South-East LA. For sake of knowing, Downtown is a 20 minute drive at night (don't count on it during the day though) and West Hollywood can be as close as 25-30 with minimal traffic, but expect to be in traffic about an hour and a half from WH in rush hour, but I guess that goes for everywhere. The area seems safe; I'm an avid runner and have had no issues running my dogs here during the day and there are plenty of conveniences a short driving distance away: Walmart, Dunkin Donuts, there's a massive mall about a mile West. As well, we've had no issues with noise and the walls are pretty soundproof, a massive step up from past residences!
Just moved in a couple of weeks ago from Chicago. I love everything about the area. It's accessibility and the town's more suburban lifestyle and format. It's much calmer than the downtown rush during the day and night. Our place was fairly renovated once we moved in, a few bumps at the beginning but the office here was more than welcoming and accommodating to our picky diva like demands. The pools, grills, and dog park are all perfect for our life style as well. So far so good.
I've been living here for almost 2 years now and I have to say that this is the greatest place that I've resided ever! I was in the military for 8 years and I've had an opportunity to travel around the world. Some places were really cool like Budapest Hungary and some places were not so cool like Baghdad, Iraq. I've been able to stay in some of the nicest hotels and lived in some of the poorest conditions that one can bear. Despite all of my previous experiences and constant changes of my own environment, The Courtyards have been the most memorable for me. I've hosted numerous pool and jacuzzi parties, I lost 25 lbs from utilizing the gym that's on site, and my guest never have a problem with finding a parking spot no matter how many people I invite over. If I could I would have attached pictures of some of the things that I'm telling but since I can't so you can just use your imagination. I would recommend the Courtyards to any and everyone that enjoys quite, comfort, and the feeling of perpetual happiness.
If you are looking for a pet friendly, kid friendly, clean and safe place, then this is the place for you and your family. The complex is always up kept and the staff is always available to meet your needs and very professional. There are two swimming pools available, two laundry rooms and a doggie area for your pooch. Also, easy access to freeways and only 20 mins from downtown L.A.
The Tierra Palms is an amazing apartments to rent. It has a new and furnished kitchen with a microwave and a dishwasher. The pools, jacuzzi, fitness center and green surroundings are extremely relaxing. The application process to the rent the apartment was very smooth, due to the friendly manager Amy and her team. The maintenance team is very efficient too !
