Property Ratings at The Cove at Avon Lake
Apartments are fine, nothing special. Photographed way better than reality. Admin staff is rude and not helpful. Plenty of better apartments in the area

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on your experience at The Cove At Avon Lake, Anna. Your feedback is truly valuable to us as we continuously strive to improve our services. I lived here for 7 months. The management team were terrible. They said they’d take care of a lot of things in my apartment but never did. They were never clear with any information given either. The manager verbally told me false information multiple times and when I confronted her she lied and said she never told me any of it. Her lies left me with no security deposit return and a late fee on my account. Word of advice, don’t believe anything they say verbally bc they’re lying. I tried to speak with the higher up and they never answered their phone. Also the maintenance team have come to my apartment and destroyed it with all their mud and dirt bc they do NOT respect anyone’s home. They ruined my personal belongings ON CAMERA and the management team just sent me an apology and never reimbursed me for the damages. When I moved in they said they cleaned everything and put new paint on my walls and promised me a new counter. The place was filthy with dog hair and bugs everywhere, the paint was unfinished and looked like a 5 year old painted my walls (they came back to fix it and destroyed my desk and shoes), and my counter was beat up and had stains on it. THIS PLACE LOOKS PRETTY BUT THE MANAGEMENT TEAM IS TERRIBLE/ LIARS

Loud barking dogs in the building. Tenants downstairs play their games/music/movies at volumes that resonate the floor and walls in my apartment something terrible. This goes on at all hours. It's difficult to get a good night's sleep. I complained numerous times, and nothing was done. At least the weed smell in the hallway was reduced. This is not a peaceful place to live.

Hi ! I am really pleased with the convenience of this space to my university and the safety of the area due to the courts and police station being down the street. Inside the apartment is spacious and my countertops are granite ! I have a washer and dryer which is a blessing, overall I love my new home , and my new neighbors are cool
Because I lost my home to the destruction of the recent hurricanes in Lake Charles, my sister offered me to stay with her until housing could be found for me. She has lived at Somerset Apartments in Deridder, Louisiana for a few years and she loves living there. I immediately noticed how kind and compassionate the managers were. Their dedication and support to the apartments and to the people living there was wonderful. They are very caring and it shows in their manners. The maintenance employee, Ryan, is the best. He will try to fix what is broken before having to replace it. He explains everything he has done and will return immediately if needed. He is a very valued employee, and so very kind. I have thoroughly enjoyed living with my sister at Somerset Apartments. It is a beautiful apartment complex and I feel very safe living here, as much as my sister does. As I live on a Disability income, waiting for an apartment in Lake Charles has been very trying. The only good thing about waiting is living at Somerset Apartments in Deridder, Louisiana! I would highly recommend this apartment complex to anyone looking for a place to live. There are security guards, a swimming pool, tennis court, basketball hoop, and the best people in the world working here...And it is right next door to Walmart and there are lots of places to eat close by!
A living there for awhile it’s became clear to me the reviews around this place don’t accurately reflect the living experience. The apartments are decent you are getting what you pay for. The neighbors are very inconsiderate and this is common across multiple buildings from what I’ve heard. You can barely walk to the dumpster without stepping in dog poop. It’s everywhere in the grass and even on the sidewalks in some places. The property upkeep is poor. Almost on a weekly occurrence, people just put all their garbage around the dumpster instead of in it and it just becomes one huge mound of trash. Packages mysteriously disappear from the lobby but it doesn’t surprise me because the controlled access they advertise on their page is just an coded entrance door that rarely closes. They blame issues on past management. I would avoid moving there if you can. There are better places for rent in the area. Maybe my stay there was different than others but that was my experience. Hopefully this place can turn it around because it is located in a nice area
We chose Somerset over other options because of the great price for all the amenities and the location! It is so close to the lake! You can tell all Somerset management really care about Somerset and making it a wonderful community to live in. The suites are large and have in suite laundry and two bath rooms. So far we have not had to put in any requests for maintenance but due to regular inspections they are very considerate in giving notice as to when and why they will be entering the suite. The fact that they offer online payment for rent is awesome and super convenient! We are so happy with our choice to make Somerset our HOME.
I have lived in Somerset for the past few years and can say it's a great property with a great staff. Pet friendly with a private dog park. Quick maintenance service and a great price for all you get. Awesome pool and grill area which is a blast in the summer and tonsof community involvement. Highly recommend
My daughter and I moved in a year ago and it has been great. The apartment is big enough and I love that we don't have to share a bathroom. I was very happy to be able to bring our dog.
Almost a year ago we decides to sell our Lakewood home and downsize, with the children all grow and gone, it was time. We are glad we did. The 2 bed 2 bath suite is HUGE. More square footage than our home. I was afraid that after years of home ownership I would miss it, not so with this property. The units are quiet, hardly hear the neighbors, ammenities are hood. Staff is awesome. A define recommendation here.
This is a great place to live and pet friendly. It is in an awesome location, close to everything yet feels like you are in the country. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. Love the staff, they are right on top of things and super friendly! The price is very reasonable compared to others in the area.
We moved to Avon Lake from Columbus when my husband accepted a job downtown. We decided to rent until we found something to buy and I'm so glad we found Somerset! We love the schools, pool and there are a lot of kids here my children's' ages. Management has been responsive and courteous every time I have had to call. I'd highly and happily recommend Somerset!
The apartment complex is quiet and the grounds are maintained. The biggest complaint is the number of spiders that seem to spread throughout the outside areas of the complex and the management has been unwilling to take care of for residents.
After looking at quite a few different apartments in the surrounding area I can honestly say that these apartments offer a lot for great prices. A spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment with vaulted ceilings, walk-in closet and a laundry room with washer and dryer included for under 1k a month!? And that's including the pet fee for my two cats! There is a nice pool with a cabana, chairs to lay out on and even a poolside pool table. The fitness center is pretty small but has the basics and its usually empty!
The staff is really friendly, maintenance is quick to make repairs. Pool is nice and the area is pretty. Surprising amount of wildlife around for an apartment complex. Not uncommon to see deer out and about.
Move in was fairly easy. Everything was done electronic including signing the lease. I didn't have to worry about running from work to the apartments in time. The new security system and keys for the apartments make me feel very safe. No way you can pick an electronic lock. The amenities are nice, heated pool, dog park, playset for kids. 24 hour gym and Clubhouse with free wifi and Starbucks. Great price for the area and accepts pets. Super close to Lake Erie and several plazas. Kids parks nearby and the school is just up the street. The apartment itself is really nice with recessed lighting and hardwood floors in certain areas. Washer and Dryer in suite and tons of closet space.
Well it all began about 5 years ago. I was recently divorced and needed a place to call "home". A place that would keep me safe and possibly have some familiarity. Previously, I had visited my future son-in-law and daughter at their apartment and immediately felt at "home". The apartment complex was located in a city next to the city I had grown up in and was near the lake (Erie) I so loved and enjoyed on many occasions (always wishing I could live closer, possibly being able to at least walk to the water). I instantly felt like this is a place (area) I could call home! I then made an appointment to view a few of the floor plans knowing, I would want at least two bathrooms and two bedrooms . I found the perfect apartment in a location of familiarity. It had the features I would need and like to have such as a cozy fireplace, an outside balcony on the 2nd floor(with a relaxing view of trees (I had picked out a couple of evergreens that I especially enjoyed with the snow cover), a pond, a grassy hill (in the winter snow angels that we (grandchildren and myself) would make could be seen by my balcony. The environment is pet friendly, has a pool, club house (for those special occasions that can accommodate a large family get-together!). When I'm not walking in he neighborhood or biking (or if the weather is not cooperative), I can be found in the provided work-out room for daily exercise. There are Adorondick chairs around the complex so, you will find the "neighbors" enjoying the weather bringing a neighborhood feeling to the "home" environment. A few years ago, my complex experienced a fire. My apartment mainly suffered water damage. Most of my "neighbors moved on to another "home" but, I knew I wanted to wait until the building was rebuilt so, I could go back to the same apartment I had called home that had offered my so much joy, comfort, safety and the feeling of community. I love my apartment and to me it's so very much of a home along with the previous homes "houses" I had in the past. It's not what kind of "physical" structure/ dwelling that you live in that defines a place to live...it's where your HEART is that says "HOME" !!
