Property Ratings at The Crossing at Montague
My experience at the Crossing has been a series of disappointments, marked by poor communication, leasing errors, a severe cockroach infestation, and a general lack of consideration for residents' well-being. I asked to do a video call of my future unit, but instead, I was provided with misleading photos of a renovated unit, leaving me to discover upon moving in that my actual apartment differed significantly. The lack of transparency regarding whether the unit was remodeled or not, coupled with a sideloaded $100 increase for a six-month lease, added unnecessary confusion and frustration to an already cumbersome process. A leasing mistake further exacerbated my experience when a supposed $650 credit turned out to be an error. This miscalculation led to an unexpected charge during the move-in process, showcasing a lack of attention to detail and further contributing to the overall dissatisfaction. The most distressing aspect of my stay was the widespread cockroach infestation throughout the entire complex. Despite being aware of the issue from prior reviews, the reality exceeded my worst expectations. Cockroaches infested various areas, including the hot tub area, the leasing office, bathtub, bathroom cracks, kitchen, sink, in my jacket, and in my bed. I found at least 50 of them during my first two months. The management's response to complaints was inadequate, offering nothing more than budget raid spray and sticky traps. They even provided a free and inconvenient pest control visit that made the apartment smell even worse! Taking matters into my own hands, I resorted to using Terro Roach Bait Gel, a more effective and less intrusive solution. Placing bait strategically, I managed to eradicate the infestation within a month. The inconsiderate behavior of fellow residents further diminished the quality of living. Trash dumping and spills around the dumpster, regardless of its fullness, created a disgusting environment. Additionally, the noise from children playing with scooters in the walkway during late afternoons was a constant annoyance, with seemingly indifferent parents allowing the disturbance to persist. Further compounding these issues, the complex's security infrastructure proved consistently unreliable. The gate was prone to malfunctioning, frequently getting stuck in the open position. On the bright side, I believe it is the cheapest complex in the area and the service people respond fast. Good luck.
Do not lease here they give good discount initially but then raise the rent exorbitantly , the maintainence is very bad , the maintainence team does not know how to fix problems infact make it worse. Plus the service is very inefficient.
I am living here since long and their services are always poor but this time they just made it worst for me. My dish washer is not working for more than a month. when we complained they send maintenance people who couldn't fix it. Two weeks back when we called again they said they have shortage of staff and send someone when they are available. They didn't send anyone yet. After increasing the rent by $200, they are saying they have shortage of staff. Its ridiculous. One of their staff member at manager level is very rude. Very poor services. :(
The apartment is affordable, comes with many appliances, and amazing features. I feel safe living here and going in and out/around the community. The down side is when they say it is a family oriented community they weren't lying... Residents let their children play in the parking lot un-supervised daily. The parents do not reinforce any discipline. Kids will run/ ride/play with bikes in front/after moving or parked vehicles (supervised or not). Don't be surprised if your vehicle gets damaged. The parents have no consideration towards other residents. P.S.-Before moving-in request it to be sprayed for termites(roaches).
We had the WORST EVER experience here. THE WORST EVER FIRST IMPRESSION that too when we took appointment to tour the units here . The lady didnot pick up calls even when we reached in time .We stood outside for 20 minutes waiting someone to come and attend. After 4-5 calls when she picked up ,she said she is coming out after 2 min and disconnected, and 2 minutes never ended, After continuous calling when she finally came out, she asked us to fill a form and went inside ,We waited 20 minutes again after filling form but she didnot come out, again after continuous calling she came out , I courteously asked her why is there a delay, are you busy? She answered very rudely and disrespectfully that she has others to attend too. Well if you cant even attend to new residents why do you ever give appointments. She was so rude and disrespectful that we ended up leaving this apartment right away without even going inside. It wasted our 1 hour, that too on a working day and after travelling 15 miles to see them. WORST WORST EVER EXPERIENCE. I wonder how existing residents are living here when they dont even respect the new ones.Shame on you The crossings at Montague
they are not sincere about the maintenance. once you are in the apartment. even for a small service request, you have to follow up many times. This time it's over a month since no one turned up for my service request...and the answer I get is we are short of maintenance staff.
We have been here since 5 years. I most like Is the community and leasing staff very helpful. I don’t have any complain till now.we are enjoying here and happy too.
The Crossings at Montague is a great community with good environment around. The BART, tram, mall and other essentials are easy accessible. Elementary School is easy walkable. Issues are well and fast addressed by the maintenance team. The unit inside is well equipped with all amenities. Great to live in.
I love this community because the environment here is beautiful and amazing view of mountains from the apartment. What I really like is it's very near to the Great Mall. Just few mins drive to Walmart, Costco and grocery stores. The Leasing office staff is very kind and good persons. We always received quick response for all the maintenance requests. The external building walls and parking area is recently colored and it looks pretty.
Crossings At Montague is well maintained and clean community. Office Staff is responsive and complaints are resolved in time by Maintenance team. Only one con side is rent, which is very high as compared to surrounding area.
Very nice and lively community, timely responsive staff
Well, Firstly, daily essential is easily reachable within 1 to 5 miles, school with having good rating, Great Mall, Costco and Indian market, Family Parks. The community always remains well maintained and cleaned. Good amount of Sunlight is in the unit. Very easy to reach the staff whenever having query or any maintenance is needed in the apartment. Free Gym classes are arranged with a good instructor. Many of the events are organized and celebrated well.
Many things are great about this apartment listed : More spacious , more lustrous, near to public commute, friendly admins, timely service, clean community. Overall stay is great
We have been living here since 4 years. Friendly office and maintenance team, beautiful location as next to cal train and great mall. We have thoroughly enjoyed living here. I would highly recommend for anyone to live here.
The main problem is they don't show the actual flat, instead we have to see model flat and layout a on a paper which moth be very different than actual house and layout. Service is Just OK. The staff is not much active, until unless we call them twice or thrice, issues will not be fixed. the appliances are not par to rent they are charging. Laundry appliances, Bath rooms exhaust fans, Dish washer and other appliances are cheaper in quality. Washer & Dryer, Dish washer and bath room exhaust fans unbearable noisy. We have complained 3-4 times, but no use. Water and Sewage charges are high, also PG&E charges are high probably due to inefficient appliances. you might see around 300$ for all PG&E, Water and Sewer bill. Also the high rated attendance school is always full and we have to send kids to other schools which might be 2 - 3 miles away with less ratings. We need to make sure to check availability at attendance school before leasing. The Crossing is not a secure place. As per information from resident groups, recently one outside guy entered into gated community and snatched a gold chain from an old woman who was walking inside community. The management is least concerned about this incident, they did not send any safety notes or may be any safety tips to residents. They are just silent like nothing happened.
Noise: high (the complex located between 2 express ways, 1 road, 1 light rail line, and 1 train line, directly under air traffic line) Maintenance: low Ground maintenance: medium, many light poles not working. Electronic Bill pay: No Management Portal/Email: minimum response if any yearly increase: 10-20% Utilities included: no, $70-100/month. Warning: high power electrical lines cross the complex (the pole is actually on the property. Parking: 1 space per Apartment Location: bad, adjacent to new VAT/Bart station to open soon, expected 22,000 riders daily, noise, crime, and traffic will go up dramatically, unless if you use daily public transportation
Its fantastic to reside here.my dream home with full of happiness.
I have been living in The Crossings for 6 months and it is a good place to live with the family. The Leasing office personal are very helpful. The community has all the facilities like gym, swimming pool, in unit washer-dryer etc. It also has playschool for the children. The apartment have good size for 1,2, 3 BR. Apartments have AC and heater.
