It would be easy to characterize Gainesville as a pure college town—the University of Florida is home to over 50,000 students in a city of 130,000, and the campus is arguably the defining cultural hub of the community. Between the art exhibitions, concerts, lecture series, and, of course, the wildly popular Gator sporting events, the UF campus culture is a magnet for students, locals, and visitors alike.
But Gainesville has much more to offer than just an electric collegiate atmosphere. The historic Hippodrome State Theatre anchors the thriving Downtown district, which is packed with a vibrant assortment of bars, nightclubs, and restaurants. Local favorites like Flaco’s Cuban Bakery and Volta Coffee attract a steady stream of students and non-students alike at all hours of the day and night.

Property Ratings at The Crossing at Santa Fe
Will do everything in their power to screw you over and take every single penny from your pocket. Management is only interested in taking your money, never actually solving anything.

Hello. Thank you for taking time to review our community. We are sorry that there has been some miscommunication with issues that need to be addressed. We would greatly appreciate you coming in and allowing our staff to clarify or correct anything that we can to assist you.
They are claiming that I damaged some of the furniture etc. in my apartment and therefore have not refunded my security deposit. They will try to take all the money that they can. Other than this it is a nice place.

Hello. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to review our community. We value your feedback. We are sorry that there has been some miscommunication regarding furniture. Please contact our office for further clarification.
went to the office because my apartment was infested with cockroaches and my roommate did nothing to clean up. they told me roaches are not a problem.they remedied the situation by putting me in a different apartment. the AC wasn't working right causing my electric bill to go up. I went up to the office again and they blamed me for their unit that failed. I do not recommend living purely based on how the staff will lie and twist the situation back on you.
We rented an apartment for my daughter to do clinical rotations at UF. Due to Covid, she wasn't able to move as originally planned because her clinicals were cancelled. They pushed her to either pay the lease in full, make monthly payments until it was paid, sublease or move her lease to the Spring in the hopes that she could move to Florida then. Since we could not afford to pay for a place she wasn't living in and we couldn't find someone to sublease, she signed a lease for the Spring. Her professor from her grad school even called and tried to let them know that it was all due to Covid. She did move down in the Spring but she needed a 2 bedroom because they sent another student with her. They still are not letting us break the lease. We finally found someone to sublease and they rejected them because he is male. However, they are reassigning him to another unit and still are holding us to the lease.
Property Manager at The Crossing at Santa Fe, Responded To This Review
We apologize for any inconvenience regarding your daughter's lease. We do have 2 options to possibly be let out of leases upon approval. I see that you've tried one of the options but since your daughter lives in an all-female apartment, it's not possible to fill it with a male occupant. We will be happy to discuss the other option with you. please feel free to give our office a call if you or your daughter would like to discuss this in further detail!
If you have any issues with the apartment, faulty dishwasher, dryer, etc. They will take months on no end to “fix” or replace them. The management here is truly terrible.

Security sucks . Refuses to let you in and will call GPD . My bank takes student Id’s, security license & passports as a form of ID but apparently they can’t because it doesn’t scan. I called the off site location because the office was closed TWICE and they verified i am a resident both time. The codes the off site location has does not work. Security still refused to let me in . After working 11-8:30am the last thing I wanted to do is sit outside a gate for 45 Mins. Oh , not to forget when I asked the security officer what agency she works for she gave me a fake agency.
Property Manager at The Crossing at Santa Fe, Responded To This Review
Hey Tanajaha, thank you for your feedback. Without your gate card, we require a scanned License (which is required of all drivers in the state), this is a policy to ensure the comfort of our residents. It is not only a way to track all visitors but alerts of us trespassing in the community. If you have misplaced your gate card please stop by the office to purchase a replacement. Our security team works for a company called Securitas for future information, and we are always happy to answer any questions. Thank you!
Definitely loved my apartment! It’s very convenient for an apartment that isn’t far from the college. The apartments are very clean and the staff is super friendly and caring. I definitely would recommend to any students that are looking for housing- Audresha Smith

The Crossings is a very welcoming place to live at. Everyone in the front is very nice and gets everything done when requested. The rent is very cheap compared to other places in Gainesville. The location is very convenient for students attending Santa fe. I really enjoy the pool and basketball court which are kept clean. I’ve had a fantastic time living in the Crossings and definitely would recommend for anyone. Jayde Doucette

Hi Stacy, Thank you for taking out the time to tell us more about your wonderful experience! Please don't hesitate to reach out if you need us, Thank you! Felicia Peoples Resident Relations Manager felicia.peoples@colliercompanies.com
In my experience in renting an apartment most of the time people fail to write a good review for apartments because they neglect to tell about all those wonderful moments and instead base their experience one a moment they didn't seem to get their way...well that won’t be this place, the staff is absolutely awesome and are willing to help you no matter the circumstance so you should never have crazy conflicts that can't be solved. Mrs. FeliCa is such a sweat lady who helped me with any of my troubles.
If this is your first apartment I think It would be a great fit because it was so affordable. My financial aid helps me pay my rent for the entire semester. I barely come out of pocket for rent. I loved my time here at the crossings.

These are good apartments in a great area for an even better price. They are a bit older and that brings some issues, but the maintenance and office staff are always friendly and quick to respond to such issues. If you're balling on a budget and want quick access to Santa Fe and the amenities provided, definitely go for it!

my unit was kinda dusty, but when office was notified, they handled it right away. Micah was such a pleasure. he was very sweet and was always ready to help me out whenever I needed. Other staff members were just as helpful.
I took my daughter here to checkout if this place would be a right fit for her starting Santa Fe College. The location is very conducive to her making it to class on time and fulfill all our requirements. The staff was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable which made our decision very easy.

DO NOT COME TO THE CROSSINGS!!!! This is my first year here and I am absolutely devasted that I have even chose this place. When I first signed they said they would clean the whole apartment and all the rooms. Come to find out that is a complete lie. The carpets had hair ties and clips all over the floor, the bathroom had hair on the walls, and everything was just unkept. The fridge, the dryer, and the common area tv and light/fan have been broken since I moved in. I put work orders in to get maintenance to come fix it but you have to continually call until the leasing office changes it to emergency. (No hate to maintenance, they are all fun hard-working guys!) Me and my other two roommates have wet sheets, wet books (which we paid for ourselves because were in college!!! NOT CHEAP), and condensation on the blinds due to moisture in the air. All they did for us was rip up our carpets and put fans underneath our carpets to "dry it out". My carpet is currently floating due to the fan and there are nails sticking out because they had to rip up the carpets. Ive only been here A WEEK and I already want to move, defiently not renewing my lease! Im basically ranting now and there's much more but even though the rent is cheap it is not worth the price!!!
On move in day the apartment was a mess. There was a visible roach infestation in the kitchen adn it was the middle of the day. The roaches also came from under the carpet, which cover the rooms and living rooms. There was mold in the ac vents. I found areas where the mold was painted over. The furniture was not same and some was broken and ripped. I had so much anxiety I broke into tears. The kitchen frdge was missing racks and shelves. The walls were peeling from previous water damage. The smell was disgusting it took foever to get out. It is not wroth the price they are asking;. The front office looks much nicer to throw you off. They wont show you your apartment before you sign the lease your see it on move in day.
Very nice area to live in great staff and very quiet. Excellent location for class and five minute from 75 awesome
The front office crew is always so helpful especially Amber. She makes it her personal business to make sure she helps solve everyone’s problems. Amber also has a great attitude towards all tenets, if you happen to stop by the crossings I recommend anyone to be assisted by her.
Schadre has been awesome to work with, the crossings has amazing customer service.
Wonderful and spacious apartments at an extremely affordable rate! The staff here is hardworking and caring, and it truly shows because they makes sure the residents feel comfortable and have everything that they need at all times!
I've been here since June of 2017 and i love this place. Its very affordable since i pay my own rent and i love the fact that i get all the same amenities as people paying $600 . Location is great. Couldn't get any better
Such a nice place!! Love the staff and have never had a problem
The staff is so nice and helpful! Great place to live!!
When I was looking into a place for my daughter to live when she first came to Gainesville. This was one of the apartments that we visited. It was close to Santa Fe college. It was clean. The staff was very helpful. I felt as if my daughter had an issue they would be able to help her deal with it in a timely manner. They were just professional all together. It was great to know that she would be living in a apartment that they pride themselves on being professional and taking care of their tenants first and foremost.
I highly reccomend living here! Beautiful community and club house! The staff is so friendly and will help with anything, plus the apartments are beautiful!

I visited the crossing on 111/21/17 am planning on moving into The Crossing in January, since I will be attending Santa Fe. However, I have left messages and emails for the staff at the crossing and I still have not heard anything back. It has been about two weeks, and I am desperately trying to figure out my housing situation, since the crossing was the place my mom and I liked the most. They are very friendly in person, but seem to be very unreliable when it comes to contacting you back for information. :-/

If you could please email Tre, our leasing manager, at thecrossing@colliercompanies.com, or give him a call here in the office, he will be sure to walk you through all the details. We look forward to speaking with you and restoring your faith in The Crossing, Thank you.
I never leave written reviews but I'm leaving one now to tell you all DO NOT MOVE HERE: I MOVED OUT EARLY IN THE BEGINNING OF NOVEMBER AND TURNED MY KEY IN EARLY AND NOW I AM BEING CHARGED ALMOST ***$5000***. We even promised that the rent would continue to be paid till my lease ended in December but they added those thousands of dollars in fines trying to charge me rent and late fees from Dec to July. At least one out of four of your roommates will be slobs or wasteful of electricity. (I know, I've been moved twice within the crossings and know of two other households in different buildings with the same exact problems) The last set of utilities I paid were over 100 dollars. And they bride favored tenants into giving good reviews. They specifically asked one of my friends to give a good review so they could hit 3?s on Google reviews (yeah THAT is how bad this place is!) for a $75 credit off her next months rent. The only good this place has ever done was kick a tenant out for putting in too many complaints after she was about to target me next.
My daughter is moving into an apartment in a couple of weeks and we had a ton of questions. It's rare today when you get fabulous customer service. Quick response, great attitude and just downright nice!!! They should keep her as she represents their property extremely well.

There are better places to live here. I remember before I moved in i was nervous about all the reviews I've seen, the office told me to ignore them. I wish I had taken consideration and found somewhere else. The staff is rude, very dirty, and roaches everywhere. The day I moved in I had to clean maggots out of my fridge, they cut over 20 bikes including mine without sending a text to the building informing us they needed to be moved (on top of that it was spring break and I thought someone stole my bike), and if your firdge or AC unit breaks, you better hope that you have a mini fidge, and it's not summer because it took maintenance 3 weeks to get to my apartment. I move into my apartment and there was mold, I told them repetitively that it needed to be taken care of, it wasn't for 3 months that the showed up randomly when I was at work threw everything out of my bathroom and broke my picture frame I had gotten from Australia and got paint all over my shower curtain, trash can, and mirror.... they just painted over the mold.... seriously that toilet upstairs is going to come crashing down one day.... this place is the worst place I've ever lived!

I love it here, whenever I put in a work order it gets done within a couple days. The staff are so nice and understanding. 24 hr gym, sport courts, lounge area, pool, all for an affordable price! My only problem is I got placed with the weirdest roommates. They should do better with that but everything else is great!

I've been here since August of 2016 and it's a great place! The staff is very friendly and efficient. Rent is affordable and the location is in a great spot as well, right across from Santa Fe College. They offer so much for the residents such as specials on rent, special events in the clubhouse for holidays or the season, and so on. I've already renewed my lease and plan to stay another year. Thank you TC for making me feel welcome and at home!
i am in love with this place, the rent is reasonable and the staff is wonderful! not only is the location great but the manager Ms. April is one of the best staff members there is, replies fast to emails and is always available. i love their little events and the clubhouse always has someone there. the pool is beautiful and the gym is worth it. definitely renewing my lease!

We are happy to hear you are enjoying your apartment! We hope we will continue to meet your expectations as you continue to stay with us. We look forward to seeing you at our next resident event!
i have had throw up outside of my apartment for 3 weeks, carpet is dirty, maintenance is very slow and they barley fix the problem when they come, unless you plan on getting a 3/3 then dont do it. Roomate matching? HA! LIEEEESSS! Cable is wishy washy. Save your money and move into a better apartment!
I've been at The Crossings for almost 1 year and happily signed another year lease. The amenities are good, the staff friendly, and maintenance has been super helpful. They have matched me with room mates that are a good fit, we get along really well. The ability to walk to class and not have to deal with parking on campus is a huge bonus, and good exercise too.

Thank you for the great review! We want to help make life at home the best it can be and being just steps away from Santa Fe College is just one of the ways we do that. let us know if there is anything else that we can do to help you in the future.
I've lived here for 3 years and WILL sign again it's right across the street from Santa Fe and super affordable! Roommate matching is hit or miss but I keep to myself till I can get a 1/1 I'm a young female student and had had NO issues.
If you're an incoming freshmen at Santa Fe College, the Crossing is definitely the right choice. Affordable rent, right next to the college, gym, pool, sport courts and multiple other amenities you can make use of while you're here. HOWEVER, while the apartment might sound great at first glance there are some major catches that are hard to notice in the quick tour they give you. First one being your apartment might be missing a few, a lot of things. When I moved in June 2015 the furniture for my room was missing, while I was able to get these the same day of, I still only have one dinning room chair and my creaky bed hasn't been replaced as promised. NEXT the staff is nice, and that's about the best thing you can say about them. There is only about 4 competent staff members in the clubhouse, and if you don't remind them constantly of the work your apartment needs or explain in unnecessary detail what the money order you're giving them is paying chances are you're apartment is not going to get fixed and you'll be paying an extra month's rent. Maintenance is incredibly rude and takes about a month to change anything including a lightbulb. But lastly the worst possible thing about this apartment complex is the parties. Well you might say "but I love to party!" We'll probably not when you work and or go to school in the morning and have to get some sleep. There are so many parties there are lines at the intersection to go into the apartment complex at night, both weekdays and weekends. Lastly, to be fair the heads of management who actually care try to do their best by every resident and keep the place as maintained as possible, however they should screen those they hire better and crack down on parties. I would recommend this apartment complex to anyone just starting out in Gainesville and willing to putting a bit of work into making their apartment a place they can call home.
This community is suited best for those who are attending Santa Fe College. It is in walking distance, literally across the street therefore it is very convenient. They have an ample mount of amenities including a computer lab, 24 hour gym, pool, volleyball court, tennis court, pool table, game room, etc. The apartments are very spacious and they also have upgraded apartments available in the back of the community. Each apartment has their own washer and dryer so you won't have to worry about lugging your clothes to the wash room. Animals are allowed though there is a fee associated with them as in any other complex. They also do roommate match which allows you to essentially pick what kind of person you'd like to live with. Parking decals are available to those who live there and there is also visitor parking. The community is gated and they check id's which allows an extra safety feature. There is 24 hour security who patrol the complex. Also, they have police officers who actually live in the complex that monitor activity. The environment of the people that stay there range from student to families. The complex is on a bus stop and there is also a bus stop at the school itself. The staff and maintenance are very helpful and come within 24 hours of a request. Down the street there are gas stations, fast food places, Publix, Walgreens, everything within a 3 minute drive which is very convenient. Overall The Crossings at Santa Fe is a very affordable place to stay with many features you'd love.
I live in the back and it's pretty peaceful but the front can get loud and crazy. But I had trouble with the rent, the people in the front mixed it up, making me go to the office over and over to get it fixed.
I love it here!! Everyone in the front office is very helpful, willing to go out of there way to help you in any situation that has to do with the complex. School is right across the street which comes in handy when you don't have money for gas. Lol it's a nice place for college students . You do have roommates which can also be fun. They have a 24hr gym and pool also a basketball court and volleyball court. Overall nice place to live!!
