From its murals to its famous taquerias (where you’ll find New York’s best tacos), East Harlem is considered one of New York’s hottest neighborhoods. You might hear East Harlem referred to as Spanish Harlem or El Barrio, but no matter what you call this trendy neighborhood, it’s an ideal location that’s still affordable by Manhattan standards.
East Harlem is located on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, extending from 96th Street north to the Harlem River, and from 5th Avenue east to the river. The northern section of Central Park, which includes the Museum of the City of New York, Fort Clinton, the Conservatory Garden, and the Butterfly Gardens of Central Park, sits directly across 5th Avenue from the neighborhood. Getting around Manhattan is quick and easy from East Harlem – the subway runs through East Harlem and contains several stations extending from 96th Street to 126th Street.

Property Ratings at The Crossing
People should not even be paying that much for these apartments.. Mice infested.. Roach infested.. And they have a big ant infestation... Hallway light not working.. Was told they don't have money to buy lights.. Should not be.. Not with all the money people paying for these apts. The workers in the office are rude and nasty... Please be careful.. Who wants Ants crawling everywhere in these apts.
I live on the 3rd floor of a three story building. My apartment has two rooms, a bathroom, a living room connected to a kitchen. The building doesn't have any elevator which makes it very hard to get to the 3rd floor especially when one has things to carry up. Another thing that is not so convenient is the fact that the apartment is very small. It barely accommodates all our stuff, reason for which everywhere is often messy. It also looks like it needs to be painted cause it seems like it hasn't been painted for a long time. the positive thing about the apartment is that the kitchen and bathroom have recently been renovated. We got new tiles in the kitchen with new sink, microwave, refrigerator, cabinets, and stove. In the bathroom we got a new toilet seat as well with new sinks, mirror, and tiles. Also contrary to many other apartments I know, we can control the heat in our apartment during winter ourselves by adjusting it as we want. Overall my apartment is okay compared to many others but it still needs improvement.
