Property Ratings at The Crossings at Bear Creek
Having lived there for a few years I'll give a compehensive review: first the good: awesome staff and maintenance! They are great people that truly care about the tenants. On good days, the complex looks clean and nice. The package and mail system is cool; they use an Amazon Hub which mostly works great! The apartments have AC which is really great! The bad: the parking is terrible!! The owners are terrible. Their policies are designed to nickle and dime their tenants. They have very small garages to rent taking up precious potential parking space so they can maximize profits. If you have an average size pickup, it probably won't fit in the garages. You pay to park in normal spots, however the spots aren't reserved. If you come home after 5 PM from work, you'll be parking on the street. The garbage compactor is constantly broken so people set their garbage next to the compactor. After a day, there's a huge pile of trash and honestly it makes the place look terrible; it makes it embarrassing to bring guests over. Guests really can't park there anyways because it is paid for parking, and there won't be any spots for them to park. The rent is constantly going up along with the monthly HOA/utility charge everyone gets (which includes HUGE fees to the company managing it). They are unfair with who gets to reserve a parking spot. Management says we can't reserve a parking spot but suddenly I see someone new is reserving a spot. The pool is a gimmick along with the exercise room. If I could go back in time, I would not choose to live there because of the parking problems alone.
Management team is a joke, they are no help. Parking is a nightmare they don’t check to make sure people are allowed to park in lot. People are allowed to fill garages and not park in them. Received a ticket for having to park on the road due to no parking in lot. Fees that don’t help anything, dog poop everywhere, insect issues, dirty parking lots and grounds. Complex recently had to be sprayed for cockroaches. I’ve had to file multiple complaints about neighbors screaming and fighting. Multiple residents have been evicted for being loud, dirty, and drugs. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy.
I lived here for about 5 months and it was absolutely the worst living experience of my life in an apartment. Where do I start??? The management was C team squad at best. There were at least three different leasing people while I was there and they were all terrible at their jobs. They never answered our phone calls when we needed help with lease stuff, maintenance etc... left voicemails every time we would call and they never called us back. They even gave me the wrong set of keys for my mail box when I moved in. They stick you with the most ridiculous fees every month (fees for mowing the lawns and pest maintenance). And there were still insects all over our apartment day in and day out after they CLAIMED that they had just sprayed. All they want is your money. The walls in the apartments are paper thin you can hear just about everything above you if you are in a bottom unit like other tenants going to the bathroom, foot steps, people talking. There are not enough parking spaces for tenants on the premises so if you are planning on being home from work after 6 pm, you are parking on the street. The managements' solution to that was to shrink down the existing parking spaces to make more and there are still not enough (you can see the old paint markings in the original spaces). Great thinking Crossings.. The spaces are so narrow that you have about a foot of space to open your doors (I got 2 door dings from those parking spaces on my brand new truck in less than a month). How convenient that you pay them thousands of dollars to live there and they don't even have enough parking spaces...Absolutely ridiculous. To top it all off, they will most definitely take your full deposit if you don't live there for at least a year. They will take out 100 dollars automatically to paint the walls even if they are left immaculate. I would not recommend this place to anyone who wants a decent experience in Lakewood. AMC leasing consultants is a complete rip off.

Thanks for sharing your concerns and we apologize for the difficulties you've experienced trying to get in touch with our team, but we can assure you that we strive to be available via phone for our residents at every opportunity, but we do have to offer priority service for our in-person guests. Furthermore, we know that parking in our community can be frustrating from time-to-time, and we want you to know that we are aware of this issue and we are looking for ways to improve this aspect of our community, alongside all other aspects. In any case, we are grateful for the time you've spent here and we wish you the best of luck moving forward.
The parking at this complex is HORRIBLE. If you're not home before 6:00pm you won't be able to find a parking spot anywhere near your building. We don't pay for a reserved spot or a garage because we just can't afford the extra money. You would think that for the large amount of money we pay every month, we would be able to park somewhat near our apartment. Because we don't pay for a reserved spot we understand having to park farther from our building but, when there is no parking spots left within the whole complex and no street parking left, which happens frequently then you are forced to park up the street on a hill next to a big open field that I do not feel comfortable walking by alone at night. We have seen 4-5 cars parked on this hill, all with parking passes on their rearview mirrors, which means that this complex just does not have enough parking spaces for the people that live here. We love the inside of our apartment but the parking outweighs our love for our apartment space. We have lived in other apartment complexes that have never had parking issues to this extreme. Parking is a daily frustration for us at this complex and because of this, we have decided not to sign another lease. There are many great things about this complex that we love but if they don't resolve parking issues they may lose a lot of residents.

We value your feedback and we're sad to hear your experience in our community has been hindered in any way. Our team cares about providing a wonderful environment which you and other residents are happy to call home, it's troubling to know parking has caused our community to fall short of your expectations. We appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns as we truly welcome all resident feedback. We'll keep your review in mind moving forward and our team would like to hear any suggestions you have which can help us provide you an experience which outweighs the effects of limited parking. If you ever need anything or have a question, please don't hesitate to reach out at any time. Thank you and we hope to hear from you soon.
Never had a good experience with management. Staff turnover at the office was constant. Requests were never completed as asked. After moving out we received a letter that we owed $150 for 2 parking passes (the orange tag for windshield). They denied us the $150 because they said they already ordered new passes while it was only 6.30.2017 that we moved out. They also charged us cleaning fees after we deep cleaned the entire apartment. PLEASE KEEP LOOKING and DO NOT rent from these un organized company. A family member works for a predominant law firm downtown and will be seeking action against Crossings at Bear Creek and management thereof.
Compared to my old apartment complex this place is fantastic. The staff has been diligent about making sure our experience is more than satisfactory. They have been understanding and helpful. Isaiah, one of the maintenance guys, has gone above and beyond to help my GF and I adjust to a new home. Really, all of the staff has been friendly and I love the location of our apartment.
This was an awesome place when I lived there for 3 years. Used their carpet cleaner people twice during that time and was very happy. Upon moving out I was charged for new carpet, they didn't even try to clean it and I have pictures that show it was nice when I left. I cannot imagine there were any stains, as they said, that were so different than the other cleaning times that could not be cleaned. When I inquired and sent photos I was told the cleaner people said it had to be replaced. I went to the supervisor in the corporate office and I was told "It had to be replaced so you have to pay" Even if it did need replacement why does the company not pay for it, cheap carpet doesnt last long! I lost my deposit and paid $600 to give them new carpet. Be prepared to by the next tenant new carpet!
Property Manager at The Crossings at Bear Creek, Responded To This Review
Hello, I am very sorry to hear that you did not agree with the disposition that was given to you. When someone moves out of the apartment we take pictures as well of all of the damages, and the condition of the apartment after someone moves out. Carpet has a five year life span and we prorate the charge for the former resident if they left any damage to the carpet. When do not charge for wear and tear, however, we do charge for stains, and any carpet damages. If you felt like your charge was wrong we always listen, and show you the pictures we have taken of the damages to show you why the charges were added. We value the conditions of our apartments when we have a new move in and it is very unfair to give anyone carpets with stains that they did not cause in their new home. Corporate will always respond when anyone wants an answer or a different opinion. If you would like us to reevaluate your dispositions please contact the office 303.986.6000. Thank you! The Crossings At Bear Creek.
The practices of this place are deplorable and the units themselves are worth nowhere near what they are charging, as you find out after you move in. Please consider other complexes in the area before this. Things are shiny and people friendly and accommodating until you sign the lease, and then everything goes downhill quickly. Over a week before moving out, my garbage disposal broke, as it had several times before (the dishwasher had also broken and took 3 calls for maintenance and 3 weeks to get fixed, and the AC, and the heat. You'll find quickly that everything you can't see is of the cheapest quality available. Your energy bills are sky high because doors and windows don't shut completely and there is no insulation in the walls. You can her every word (and other noises) your neighbors make because the walls are paper thin...). Anyway, I called for service and was completely ignored. I called again a few days later with the same result. This was basically par for the course for my stay there and I should have expected it, but now my sink was filling with week-old nastiness, as was the dishwasher from the backup in the pipes. So I couldn't wash dishes either in the sink or the dishwasher, or use the sink and had to live in filth for my last week at lovely Carmel Bear Creek. They pretended they were getting around to it, but were obviously just running out the clock on my lease and had no intention to fix it. Then a few weeks after I moved out, the really fun part began. I got a move-out checklist that included a 396 DOLLAR CHARGE FOR THE DISHWASHER! I thought it must be some kind of cruel joke. I contacted the ladies at the front desk. They informed me that they don't handle concerns of people who had already moved out. How convenient! So i contacted the property management company. After a few more emails, they informed me that the charges were because the "handle for the dishwasher had to be replaced". THE HANDLE! For one thing, the handle was in perfect working order when I vacated. For another thing, a 396 DOLLAR HANDLE?? Really? So they made me live in filth, tried to steal my money, and now were insulting my intelligence. I've now filed a claim at JeffCo courts. Please save yourself the money and headache. This place looks nice on the initial tour, and it's completely miserable after that. Don't do it.
