Property Ratings at The Cypress
Let’s start with the fact this apartment complex went through 4 owners in the 2 years of living there! Due to this fact, the community suffered greatly from maintenance always being delayed and lawn care was abysmal!!! The breezeway lights have been out for months across the community making it dangerous for nightly walks to your own apartment. The rude staff were always short winded with their responses and didn’t even know the meaning of sympathy or empathy! They chose to refuse to renew our lease because they wanted to renovate our unit but made us reapply to transfer to another only to deny us and force my wife and I to seek shelter somewhere else! Another reason to not move here, is if you work at Spectrum. Rent includes a decent cable and internet package, but it’s not optional so if you work at Spectrum and gets your services free, you won’t get to take advantage here! Speaking of unavoidable fees, they force a valet trash service on you where a very rude guy comes out on Sunday nights and takes away your trash that sits in the breezeway and makes it stink! They forced us to use their washer and dryer even when we asked to use our own, they refused to remove the rented ones!
Overpriced. Was mislead as to the condition of my unit. Horrible neighbors; yelling, screaming, stealing packages, leaving out trash, and the cops showing up one to many times.
20 percent increase in my rent for a renewal this year. The management won't give reasons for the increase. There have been no renovations to property or units in at least 2 years. Pool opened a month late. Trash everywhere. No communication from management unless you harass them to take action on repairs or payment disputes. Online payment site has been down for 7 months. So have to pay by personal check. I spent 4 months getting eviction notices each month for rent I already paid. Each month I showed the office deposited our check and it cleared. We have never been late with our rent. No apology for the inconvenience this caused. I got so frustrated I went into the office and told them I would show up every day until they confirmed the disputes were resolved in their books. We also had a bad leak that we reported multiple times that would puddle into our living room everyday. It took 3 months to resolve. I had to threaten legal action. That night a regional manager was in my unit but they never completed repairing the wall or baseboards. They used a completely different paint to cover what sections they did repair. It took days with multiple fans to dry out the moisture. Bad mold will develop in the bathrooms if the door is not always open. The exhaust fans are just a fan in the wall blowing but not vented to the outside. We have a 1st floor unit and the apartment upstairs has two large dogs. They get up at 4 am and bark and run around all day. Living here has been the worst experience ever renting. EVER. Do not recommend.
Management has not done anything about the mice or even responded to my email, This has by far been the worst apartment DO NOT WASTE YOU MONEY!
Absolutely no. first & foremost, what you see in those pictures is not what you get at all. 2nd they have a bug problem & it’s not a normal one at all. My apartment has a major water leak & mold infested & I was compensated anything being that i had to move out & find a new unit. id rather live on the side of the road than to live here.
No organization in the office, no consideration for your safety. Lived here for 8 months with a gas leak that they refused to fix. Lived here for five days without AC in JULY. After moving out three months ago, they told me 3 WEEKS ago that "I was still on a lease" because they lost all of my paperwork. They still haven't fixed this problem. DO NOT RENT ONE OF THESE APARTMENTS.
Neighbors dumping cat litter under the stairs up to our apt, our neighbor lets their dog poop on our side of the building and when they mow the lawn The poop got flung literally onto the railing outside of our apartment. Smells like cat poop dog poop it has been a absolutely terrible experience they take the cake for the worst apartment living experience I’ve ever had. Terrible management the pool has been closed all summer, our apartment was filthy when we moved in and we have maintenance request that we put in the week we moved in that never got taken care of. These are not luxury apartments just because you put sparkly counters in an apartment doesn’t make it luxury. Absolute rip off not worth the price look elsewhere
I don’t even know where to start. I lived here from February 2020-January 2021 and it is MARCH 2021 and I am still dealing with their horrible management. My AC was broken for 8 months (March to October 2020), they never answer phones/emails, and they have not given us our security deposit back even though it’s been sent out. My roommate and I have both been told different days on when it was mailed out. I just want my money so I can leave this horrible place in the past. Management is beyond repairing at this point!
My fiance and I moved in to these apartments a month ago and they have been awesome! I feel like it is super easy to get ahold of the desk and they are very polite and attentive to our needs. When we first moved in, we had a problem with our water heater not lighting. we called and maintenance was at our apartment within 25 minutes. Connor was awesome and very quick to help us out when we called him to ask about the apartment and availability. The employees here have been very reliable and our apartment is very clean. We haven't had any issues with our place at all.
I had a tour set up and I called to tell them I was on the way they said that’s fine. When I got there no one was there, the door was locked. I called and they were confused and said that they were busy giving a tour and they’d be right with us. I was a little confused on why they told us to come when they were giving another tour at the same time. I waited in the car for almost 30 minutes!!! No one called me back or ever showed up so I left. I get a call an hour later saying that their power went out so that’s why no one was there. So then how was there a lady giving a tour?? They should have at least called me to let me know they were closed, not lie to me that they would be giving me a tour. It made no sense and they made me waste my time and an hour drive. Will not be coming back. They are obviously unorganized and can’t communicate well.
On 8/14/2020, I received a phone call from "Gabi". She told me that my apartment would not be ready by the 15th: my scheduled move-in date. I was initially told that I *HAD* to move in on this date because they "couldn't hold the apartment beyond this day." Gabi explained that there was an issue with the ceiling and they couldn't get anyone to fix it until Monday 8/17/2020. I asked how long they knew this was an issue. I was told me that it "just recently happened." I thought this was strange, but I asked if I could move my things into the bedroom while they fixed everything else. When I arrived, Gabi reassured me that the apartment was very nice. That it had been cleaned professionally. That the only issue was the ceiling. She kept saying she wanted to be "upfront" and not have me "upset about anything". I realize now, this was a case of passive aggression and gaslighting for what I experienced next. The apartment was DISGUSTING! The living room ceiling warping and falling in was the *LEAST* of my concerns: - There was a LIVE WASP nest over my patio door. - It didn't look like anyone had cleaned in the apartment at all. - Seasonings were still in the cabinets. - Insects (large & small) were flying and crawling around in multiple rooms. - *STICKY* stains were on the counters. - The bathtub looked like the dirt and grime was left from the last person. - The floor appeared to have never been swept or mopped. It seemed not much was done from the last person who lived in there. The *only* thing that was cleaned with the stove and refrigerator. When I brought these things to Gabi's attention, she attempted to throw it back in my face that I asked to move my things in WHEN MY LEASE WAS TO MOVE IN ON THIS DATE! She acted as if she was doing *me* a favor when my apartment was *NOT* ready by the date agreed upon. When asked if this could be rectified in any other way (professional cleaning, offering me a different unit, decreased rent, pushing my date forward to accommodate necessary renovations, etc.), it was decided to terminate my lease: releasing me from the contract. That spoke VOLUMES about the culture of this complex. This screams of dishonesty and a culture of getting over on people who need a place to stay. All I can say is that I'm glad that I have other places to stay, but I hate it for the next person they attempt to get over on with such heinous rental practices. Please make sure to watch your back when pursing this property.
It's convenient to school and work and everything else you wanna get to
Leasing staff very friendly and helpful. Made moving in process very easy
Residents are friendly, neighborhood is quiet and the apartments are well tended.
I would recommend people friends and family in this apartment community and it s a safe place and if you have kids like me the schools around very great Guilford middle and Guilford high school oh let me finish the Maintenance are great too I am happy I been staying here for 5 years thank you God never fad a problem '?????
The staff are very friendly. He is very safe and modern. The staff feels like family.
I stay in a non renovated unit but I do still enjoy my space. Somethings like price would make me recommend but I feel like the lack of upkeep of the breezeways not being taken care of make me not want to recommend. Also the way the trash compactor looks because people have trash everywhere. If the upkeep of the grounds improve I would definitely recommend.
They came same day and took care of the problem
Water pressure is great. New owners take care of maintenance issues.
I would recommend the community because it is nice for the price and affordable and usually maintenance was quick about fixing things. However, I would not recommend the community because there were problems with dogs walking through the community and not being in a lease which resulted in me being chased and a few run ins with dogs that put mine and my daughter's safety at risk. I had to make a few calls to Animal Control and the Apartment managers. In addition, the lighting is poor at night in the parking lot and walk ways. Last, there was always a problem with the community trash compactors overflowing to the point where trash was outside of the compactor on the ground stacked up for days. It was unsightly and embarrassing to have guests see it while visiting. The community really needs two compactors instead of one.
This is a good property with a GREAT staff. Any issue that I have ever had has been taken care of immediately.
I love it here. It?s quiet and the apartments are lovely. The only thing I would recommend would be for the breezways to be clean and maybe they area around the trash compactor to be better.
I have actively referred friends to live here as well, however, things that often get pointed out are several of the cars without licence plates and flat tires that have not moved in the year I have lived here.
The apartment stair areas are always filthy and the walls are full of cobwebs. No one pays attention to it.
With the latest owners, we will like it has improved. It was great when we first moved here almost 2 years ago and then it seemed to go downhill but the feeling and look around here has much improved.
It is clean. The maintenance are great and office personel are quite friendly. It is also quiet place to live.
I have been a tenant for two years , my rent has increased each year without any upgrades to my apartment and the only upgrade to the complex was the gym. Nothing is included and the apartment is poorly insulated so your gas bill will be super high in the winter and electric will be super high during the summer. Depending on the day and time my shower water only gets to a certain temperature. The neigborgood is quiet and close to grocery stores. I haven’t had any issues with management until it was time for me to end my lease. Make sure you give them 60 days notice or you will have to pay over $900 even though you are not in the apt. Keep records of everything , but if you can afford rent, gas, water, electric , and cable/WiFi for a mediocre apartment this is the place ...

Thank you for sharing this feedback on living here at The Fields Market Street. It's important to us that our residents are happy and comfortable in their homes, so please give us a call so we can discuss your concerns and move forward on solutions. Thanks.
My first year here was great. Then new management came in and turned this place upside down. Maintenance request are never taken seriously. You have to physically go into the office and demand attention to actually get things done. But they never actually fix anything the first time. They tear holes in your walls and leave them. Water leaks from your ceiling and they let it stay that way until they feel like coming in to fix it. They always have bigger things to tend to in other units. So other units must have worse issues than water coming through there ceiling and mold forming. You get the point. DO NOT MOVE HERE !

I have lived at the Ashland since April 2015 and I have enjoyed the entire time. There have been some staff changes since my move in date, but for whatever reason they were for the residents were never privy to it why and it was professional, never showed outside closed doors. The new staff is a group of outgoing lovely women who I am looking forward to getting to know on a community level. The grounds are always clean, well maintained, and if something needs attention the maintenance staff is here quickly. The pool is my favorite part of the community, but there is a tennis court that has been renovated, a brand new play-scape, a brand new bark park if you have doggies! There is also a laundry center, a car cleaning center, and a very nice gym. The club house recently has been renovated. It is one of the most beautiful rooms I have been in person. It is very modern and stylish; it looks like it jumped off of a page of Southern Living. The Ashland isn't an apartment, it is a community and to me home
I've been a resident for this complex for 4 years. This place has recently changed ownership. They have invested money into the property making much needed repairs and maintenance to the outsides of the buildings. They added a dog park, playground for kids and refinished the tennis courts. In response to these changes they have drastically increased the rental rates. These increases are still in range with what is available in the area, but with the amenities the community offers vs its competitors, I no longer see the value in staying. The community had a great staff before the new ownership. They have since replaced every single staff member, creating chaos in the process. They cannot follow through on maintenance orders and no one is addressing the issues that have arisen. Parking is an issue since this community is nearly at capacity. For the most part, the community is quiet, drama free and not much crime. Pool is lacking, it is small and in severe need of repairs.
