There's much more to Champaign's sister city of Urbana than you might think. It is a lively college town, home to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, it has a long and fascinating history, and it is family-friendly and beautiful. While it is usually tied to its next-door twin, Urbana stands out on its own -- Downtown Urbana is the city hub, home to Market at the Square, a farmers market that began in 1979. The historic downtown features historic architecture, bike lanes (and plenty of bike racks), sidewalk cafes, period lighting, and a wide variety of shops and restaurants.
In addition to the university, Urbana is home to the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology, a research institute located on the university's campus. The neighborhood attracts those with children, thanks to its top-ranking schools, and it features beautiful parks, such as Crystal Lake Park and Meadowbrook Park.

Property Ratings at The Den
When you first examine the rooms, you can very quickly tell that the construction job done here was rushed. There is white paint on the hardwood that will not come off no matter how hard you try to remove it. There are scratches along the flooring and the walls, not to mention the chips in the window frames. Some doors do not even fully close, allowing them to be pushed open. Somehow, I feel the realty agency will try to blame it on me for my security deposit. On top of that, even the lobby has already been flooded. Looking at the place, you'd expect that this building was thirty years old, and not "Brand New," as advertised. Also, management is terrible here. In fact, the water has been shut off more times than I can count with little to no notice at all. Not to mention all the times the electric key fob to enter the building stopped working leaving myself and other tenants locked out of our own building. Honestly, I have had so many complaints with this apartment that the character limit will not let me post everything. Just know that you are NOT getting what you pay for if you sign at The Den.
Don't be fooled by the fact that the building is new. Management clearly doesn't care about you, they only take your money and ignore you until they need to use you again. If you love the sound of construction at 5 am, then go ahead and sign here!
