Property Ratings at The DeSota
Onsite management doesn't take care of issues. Additional charges on utilities bill without previous notice. I have been waiting for 13 months for mgmt to fixed kitchen drawers. Gym ceiling fans and lights are out. Cleaning is awful, hallways and elevators are filthy. Onsite management doesn't reply to emails. Stay away from this bldg. BTW the mgmt only replies to good reviews the bad ones are ignored.
I would highly recommend living at The Desota! The units are bright, spacious, and modern, the amenities are fantastic, the maintenance team is professional and prompt, and the entire building is clean and beautiful. More than anything, the management team is just wonderful. They are warm, kind, and helpful, and they ensure that everyone living here feels at-home. This is all-around a wonderful community!

A 2-bedroom now costs the same as a $1,250,000 mortgage. They don’t give you the option of taking out a long lease to keep your rent stable, so it’s impossible to make this place your long-term home. Most people can’t afford huge rent increases each year, so everyone is dreading having to go through the hassle and expense of moving out when their current lease expires, which makes it hard to enjoy the place while you are here. Consequently, it now seems to be mostly used by people who only need somewhere short-term until they find a permanent home. Unfortunately, that means it feels more like a hotel than a residential building, with people partying like they are on vacation and not respecting the facilities or other residents. It's such a shame, because the apartments are great, the facilities are good, the location can’t be beaten, and all the on-site management and staff are brilliant.

Congratulations are due to the new owners and new management of the DeSota apartments. Prior to their acquisition the only nice thing to be heard about the DeSota was that it was close to Whole Foods. Now, people who have lived their under both owners and management including myself and my wife speak highly of the DeSota as the New management Realizes that rental tenants want to feel good about where they live and that any concerns they might have will be dealt with. The DeSota is now living up to its potential and has become a wonderful downtown place to call home.

I have been living at the DeSOTA for a year and I can't wait to get out of this place! Massive amount of "BIG" dogs living in an apartment setting peeing and pooping EVERYWHERE! I feel sorry for the dogs! NO Guest parking. Really?? Was told by management at move in that they would work it out when I originally moved in. LIARS! Rules are not enforced and everybody does whatever they what! Don't expect to get any sleep living in this building! OH, did I mention that dogs and people with bare sweaty feet (working out)are allowed in the gym! How sanitary is that??

Great staff that is there now and loved out stay there. Only reason we left is we moved our residence to Miramar BEach FL.
The quality of the kitchen appliances is very poor. I expect more for this much rent. The stove oven is unusable: the temperature is off and so uneven we couldn't even roast a chicken. Kitchen exhaust is totally inadequate.
For starters, I’m not some “old” angry, stuck up resident. I’m actually a millennial. I rated living here as a three because the overall experience living here for the past 11 months including employees, conceirge, cleaning services, etc. has been average since The DeSota is priding itself as being a “luxury” experience. I’ll start with the entrance. The whole front entrance of the building is where the dogs pee and poop so it’s no surprise that when you go for a walk you’ll get a fresh whiff of dog pee and don’t forget to watch your step because there’s usually dog poop smeared on the sidewalks. As you walk in and make your way to the elevators you’ll usually find dog pee in at least one of two elevators which takes too long to get cleaned. Ps I’ve grown up with dogs as pets so actually love them. The “service” elevators are the same as the resident elevators so expect delays when there are people moving in or out. The gym facilities are great besides at night when the whole world, including homeless people can look through the windows and watch you workout as they please since there are no shades, quite disturbing. The pool area doesn’t have any rules as every time I go down there people have their personal radios blasting and have their mini “spring break” with beers in the pool and take over the whole outside kitchen area as if it’s their own home. As for the actual apartments; I live in a two bedroom and the space is beautiful but I would say over priced since we’re paying for the overall experience of luxury living and you don’t luxury anywhere else other than inside your own apartment. One downside of the apartment is the bedroom windows aren’t double glazed so expect to be woken up from construction and cars passing by. Overall, I’d try checking out some of the new developments they have created around The DeSota since they’re probably more reasonably priced and at least you’ll know what you’re getting instead of people failing at luxury like they are here.

too many dogs with irreslponsible owners. Multiple times of dog stuff in elevator and carpeting on our floor.
I wanted to say that all of the office/leasing ladies did a phenomenal job!
Great place with such friendly people. I love Jen. She is just great. Terrific location. I just love it here.
Dislike yeah collection procedures...sometimes when I have company for dinner they have to pass big bundles of trash in our halls...not attractive...rather have short ...early morning pickup and residents clear bins within the hour!!! Doggie odor on carpets noticeable in our hallways! I love dogs so no problem but cleanliness full time job, I know it is a difficult task!
Location is excellent! Only concern is the number of dogs. Sometimes, resembles a pet hotel. And, I do like dogs. Continue to remind residents to be considerate of others. Eg: pick up after your pets, return carts to appropriate place, park in your spot, don?t park in front of elevator. Etc.
I would recommend it to anyone who needs a simple place to live who is looking for more amenities than a standard apartment complex. I would not recommend this apartment to someone looking for space, outdoor privacy, or quiet.
The location is fantastic! The apartment, lobby, work out facility, pool looks beautiful. The beautiful club house was extraordinary- so big it would be a wonderful place to have a few friends for book club, or just for me to 'get away' to a lovely spot.

I would recommend the DeSota because it is an up and friendly building. It is maintained well for the most part. I like that we have good working eleavators. The staff is friendly and helpful.
Great location. Friendly and professional staff. However, must love dogs. Sometimes, it looks like a pet hotel. Should be a limit on size of pet. Annoying to get on elevator with a dog that?s as large as a small pony. This is definitely a turn-off, IMO.
