Lyndon is a quaint residential community roughly 11 miles east of Downtown Louisville. The neighborhood features a close-knit community and a sense of small-town charm due to the city’s long-time residents. There are longstanding single-family homes and apartments in the area, as well as new, more upscale apartment communities to choose from. Residents of Lyndon appreciate proximity to the city while enjoying their laid-back, suburban atmosphere. Robsion Park is a great place to enjoy a jog along paved, tree-lined trails, while A.B. Sawyer Park is the place to go for access to athletic fields. Several county clubs surround Lyndon, including Hurstbourne Country Club. Mall Saint Matthews sits across the intersection at State Route 60 and Interstate 264 from Lyndon, offering residents easy access to abundant department stores, retailers, and restaurants not far from home.

Property Ratings at The Devonshire
By the third year of living here, my rent had increased over 25%. The appliances are outdated by at least 20 years. The dishwasher would overflow consistently. Things like air vent covers and smoke detectors would literally just fall off from time to time. The walls are so thin that you can hear your next door neighbors having intercourse or watching tv. My car got broken into no less than a dozen times in the three years i was here. The cheap new speed bumps they put in are so bad that damage to your car’s shocks is inevitable over time. There is no in-unit laundry and the laundry mat usually has at least half of its washers “in repair” so there are rarely more than two or three washers working at a time for the entire complex. Many of the dryers simply don’t work without any warning before you’ve already paid for it. The final straw was the treatment after i moved out. I’m a flooring installer, so i replaced the contractor grade carpet in the living room with hardwood flooring (a job that would cost around $2500 between the materials and labor) for free. I kept the old carpet and offered to re install it when i moved back but they refused to promise to give my deposit back. So i left it, not wanting to do the labor and still not receive my deposit. I not only didn’t get my deposit back but i was also charged an additional $450, which included over $300 to clean the tub and stove that i had already cleaned before leaving. The location is convenient and the maintenance crew is great but those are the only good qualities that i can name about this place. I’ve never taken the time to give a negative review of anything in my life, but i created this account for the sole purpose of letting anyone that may be apartment shopping know that i could not recommend this place any less. You’re better off getting a tent and saving your money.
Didnt really ever have a good experience the entire time living here. the property is super old and out dated!! the bathrooms tiles were gross when we moved in and none of the cabinets were cleaned out, there was like a brown sticky residue in all of the drawers and cabinets. this goes for the cabinets in the bathroom & kitchen. We ALWAYS had bugs coming in from the outside because the front door was messed up. the bathroom plumbing was terrible, our toilet would always get clogged up even when we would do nothing. The walls are super thin here as well so if you want to hear your neighbors every move this is your place. Landscaping is pretty bad over here as well, theres dog poop everywhere even on some dead/dying bushes. it all just kept adding up during my 12 month leasing.
I've had plenty of negative runins with the staff from the office, overcharged on rent, rent increasings, outdated upkeep of the apartments, etc. Not recommended.

I’ve lived at Devonshire six years and it’s the best place in Louisville to live. They are always making improvements to the property and the landscaping is clean and maintained. The office management and maintenance have always been friendly and helpful. I would recommend this complex to anyone for price and convenience to downtown.
Devonshire's apartments is a great place to call home. The area is fantastic it's conveniently close to mall shopping. Also small eateries. And minutes to public transportation. We have friendly management staff and maintenance that are supportive and they do their best to promptly address your concerns. The residents overall are very friendly. We have really nice grounds that are nicely kept. And Woof!! we are pet friendly. You'll love Devonshire Apartments. Come on in and say Hello neighbor. You'll be happy you did.
The Devonshire in Louisville, KY is a horrible complex to rent from. They raise the rent EVERY six months by claiming "Increased Operating Costs." I lived there for five years and my rent went from $450 for a one bedroom to $650 per month. I lived in a four plex and the turnover was so quick throughout the complex due to poor maintenance and rent increases. They also have issues with Raccoons and Squirrels living in the attics of the buildings. The management is reluctant to call professionals in to take care of it due to cost. Manager said they charge $50 per animal and do not always catch all of them. After several complaints due to scratching noises in the walls at night she finally called them (Critter Ridders). Turned out to be an eight inch hole in the roof which the animals were coming and going through. The guy found the hole as soon as he climbed in attic. Supposedly maintenance had been up there two times and found nothing...I don't think they ever went up there. The complex always has junk and furniture piled around dumpsters, which is great if you prefer the look of living in garbage dump or like having junk collectors rummaging in your complex every night. If it wasn't 3 minutes from my work I would have moved long before five years. I would never recommend anyone ever renting from the Devonshire.
