It's a great facility. People are friendly and helpful. It's clean and well maintained and pet friendly. Plenty of parking and public transportation is literally ant your doorstep which is a plus for me. It's a big complex and it can be intimidating at first and not something I'm used too, but, I adjusted very quickly and very grateful to be here . Leasing agents are top notch . The apartments aren’t “luxury” as advertised but I didn’t mind staying here for the most part. My main issue occurred after I moved out. I moved out and paid my final fees. I even have their signatures and proof of payment as well as the ledgers/move out statement. I still received mail from a collection company 3-4 months later. When trying to get in contact with the leasing office they were no help. I was told I would receive a call back but never did. Now Im left to dispute the claims when it shouldn’t have been sent to collections in the first place.

I’ve been hear for almost a year and I would definitely recommend. Every time I need something done leasing does a great job with sorting out my troubles. Tess one of the leasing agents has a great attitude and always follows through. New manager is always eager to help. My experience has been 10/10 thanks to Tess and the Manager.

"Upscale" as listed on the website: is what sold me and urged me to sign the lease here as I applied to 3 other locations and was approved as well. Not only was the closest elevator to my unit down, (has been down since) I have not been here 30 days and was stolen from already, I have seen random people who do not live in the building coming through a broken door that is supposed to have exclusive access only with a key fob for residents, which is located right across the street from the trolley station at the bottom of the stairs in building 2. I have also witnessed sketchy people enter my parking area because of that door being broken and caught a man peeing in the corner. I am utterly disappointed to say the least and would not have moved in if I could have paid way less and mentally would have been prepared to deal with these types of issues.

Amazing place to live with a great staff. Transportation via tram is right next to the apartment home, within a few blocks you have everything you need (banks, shops, groceries, medical offices, etc). You never have to really leave a small radius. If you must, there is a highway right down the road connecting the entire city. Safe neighbourhood with amazing and kind neighbours.

From move in to now I am just so happy with the team here at the District. Wow, so much attention to detail! I had a few concerns at first because of the trolley being nearby but my wife loved the property and she was right, the staff here at the District make sure to keep it safe and clean at all times. I am so happy we chose to live here, neighbors are awesome, amenities are great and we absolutely love our apartment, lots of space and windows. We will be here for a long time!

Satff needs to be more acountable. I felt being attacked some times when I request something. I wanna live there for a year and it is my right to have good conditions at my unit. No body can live in a bad condition place and they should understand it.

It is very quiet community where I reside. I live on the east side and my balcony faces courtyard. The grounds, elevators, floors, garage area is very well managed and clean. I always see maintenance and cleaning staff working to keep it that way. They are also very nice and pleasant. It is also very conveniently located to stores, mailing services, restaurants, gyms and freeways. I also researched a lot of apartments communities before I relocated from Texas. This one by far was the most competitive in cost. The office staff is always pleasant and helpful. I would highly recommended The District.

I have been here since the place opened 11 years ago. Why? I love my large one-bedroom apartment with room for all my needs (my king bed and two dressers easily fit in the bedroom) a stacked washer/dryer, walk-in closet, extra large open kitchen/dining/living area, and a good-sized storage closet attached to my patio. The complex is modern with all the amenities you would expect, and the grounds and facilities are meticulously kept. The housekeeping crew is phenomenal, the hardest workers I have ever seen. Maintenance is quick and reliable. The office manager, Alicia, is competent, professional, available, and caring. Lastly, the location cannot be beat: walking distance to Grossmont Center, trolley stop across the street, and easy access to freeways. I have never lived anywhere this long. Now you know why.

Living here is very comfortable and beautiful. We have a family and we always feel safe and our neighbors are friendly. The front office, in particular Gustavo and maintenance team, in particular Al, are always ready to help. We love the urban feel of it here, with the trolley across the way.They have gathering areas with grills for cook outs but if you can't cook they have food trucks throughout the month. I love the free yoga by the pool every week! It's a great community, I highly recommend it.
The maintenance crew is the only functioning part of this organization. The security is beyond inept and the office staff, while very friendly, seem to be prevented from actually helping residents. It's as though Greystar is only concerned with hiking up the rent and has no concern for their employees or residents. Don't live here, if you can avoid it.
I am comfortable with the overall living facility. The staff are very friendly and always there to help.

This community is great! Military friendly, pet friendly, and updated interior which is hard to come by for a decent price. Location is perfect; easy access to shopping centers, freeways, and downtown La Mesa. I especially like The District for the safety and privacy they provide.

The Good- inside apartment is upgraded and beautiful, rooms are very large! The Bads-The move in move out process is the worst situation Ive experienced! Apartments do not have much room for storage (ex:No linen closet).The people that come and hang around the complex from the trolley makes the community very non family friendly. The rent rate is the same of a 2-3 bedroom house!

I have been at the district three years. It has been a positive experience. The office staff is excellent and always willing to help. Maintenance is always available when you put a request in and do a great clean job. The apartments are roomy. I would like to see some upgrades but they are very comfortable.

I am very happy at The District East. If you pick the right apartment in the right location within the complex, the place is wonderful. The maintenance staff is also verry good and have always quickly and satisfactorily taken care of the few maintenance requests I have ever had. Overall am very happy with my decision to live here.

Overall, The District Apartments is a safe & clean vicinity to live in The apartments are very nice, well kept and kitchens, as well as, bathrooms are well distributed and ample in size, which is convenient As far as Management goes, the Staff & Team members are a great & professional group of people that are readily available to answer questions and/or any concerns Things like Work Orders that may need to be placed are taken care of diligently and with professionalism from the Maintenance Department employees Perhaps due to the Pandemic and social distancing protocols, activities that are a part of the community have been reduced, however; theres always an activity (or something) prepared that allows residents to either interact and/or enjoy at their leisure like cooking classes, free donuts & coffee, yoga classes once a week for free, etcetera

Moved into our second apartment here at the District East and was having some issues with our washer/dryer unit (previous tenants mustve really put it through the ringer!). After some back and forth with the maintenance team trying to figure out the issue, wonderful John came to save the day! He found the source of the problem and less than a day he came to replace our machine, and I couldnt be happier. Thanks John and the rest of the maintenance team for helping me!

I came to live in district WEST 539 3 years ago when Fairfield owned it. Things were great. Since Greystar took over it has been a steady drip of changes that are unsatisfactory. Especially as I have environmentally induced severe asthma. My lease specifically states this is a no smoking complex. I would NEVER live where smoking was allowed. But with no notice or consideration you decided to allow smoking and specifically designated the building I live in as a smoking allowed building. My neighbor smokes and since we are all on lockdown smokes in there pretty much all the time when they are home. It pumps smoke out though my a/ducts so badly my apartment stinks I stink and my doctor was absolutely shocked because its so strong on my clothes she thought I had started smoking. Its not even a courtesy thing. With not thought whatsoever and in direct violation of my lease you put me and my health in jeopardy. It is an illegal act. I am hurrying as fast as I can to get out ahead of my 2/5 lease end because I cough constamtly and wearing charcoal filter mask at night to help keep from having my lungs clog. I know it wasnt directed at me but that makes you worse in terms of caring business. Without a thought you made a decision that threatened my life for your bottom line. I decided to leave the state and when searching for new apartments I saw Greystar was being returned in my searches. I filtered it out and have shared your business practices with several complexes during my search. I am well aware that what you did is illegal and do not have even one spare minute to spend seeking legal counsel but but will once I settle. You cannot, even in CA, just jeopardize tenants health and well being. Especially since you do nothing to enforce so elevators common areas garages are now also smoking.

We do not allow smoking in any common areas and offer both non-smoking buildings as well as some buildings which allow smoking. Living at THE DISTRICT-EAST is a joy and very comfortable. Management, Janitorial, Landscaping, and Maintenance Staffing is the best thing for these community-oriented apartments.
