Property Ratings at The District
The district has exceeded my expectations. The apartment is very clean with updated appliances and amenities
If you are looking for a convenient place to immediately feel comfortable and safe in Pittsburgh this is your place. Great amenities, service, people and location.
So disappointed that the management continues to ignore simple and reasonable requests such as this one.
The District is a vibrant and bustling establishment filled with amenities, community events, easy access to restaurants, exercise facilities, and work. Even with all the activities around, a resident can still maintain peace and privacy. Eric B
So far, my experience living at The District has been excellent. Move-in was relatively easy and I love the apartment and amenities.
Yep, great location and a beautiful place to live. Very happy that it is now owned by Greystar who knows what it takes.
The new management team is doing a great job of revamping the building aesthetics, safety, maintenance requests and a sense of community.
Great location and a beautiful property. Great amenities.
Absolutely a great location for a new ground up construction. I can say that I am very happy that Greystar purchased "The District". The sell took much longer that NRP ever anticipated, and the wear & tear is hard for any new buyer to catch up.
It has been a pleasant experience staying at this community. The district has been great amenities such as pool, gym, and private room to invite ur friends over. The management addresses your concerns as soon as possible including your appliance repairs and any others.
Location is the only aspect of living at The District that is good. I would not recommend the place to anyone.
I love it here...................I signed a lease years before the property construction started. Not much to say but location cannot get any better. Folks that live here have the means to pay a premium and also want to see reinvestment on general maintenance as a return on what they are playing for.
would not recommend living her for the price.... gym way too small, package room worst i have ever seen and staff does not sort packages promptly, and parking garage in another building so have to go down an elevator, outside, unlock doors, up an elevator, and not have an assigned spot... just horrible
The Strip District is a vibrant and exciting neighborhood that is constantly growing. I love the location of the District where I can virtually walk across the street and have access to fine dining, coffee, a book store, fresh produce, groceries, etc. Having a gym and pool as amenities is great as well.
After the first year of living here, the place has gone totally downhill. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The location is the only thing good about this place.
Shortly after the transfer of ownership, it became noticeable that the new management was attempting to make an effort to improve things. Particularly the cleaning of the common areas and the handling of trash. So many of the new apartment complexes underestimate the need for space to handle mail and trash. My only other criticisms are the noisy (toilet flushing) plumbing and the absence of exterior window cleaning. The apartment served me well for the 6-month term that I was there.
Clean Safe Place to live! Residents are great people! The Staff is Great!
Living in the Strip is wonderful, but currently I would look around carefully at all the potential apartment complexes before committing to the District. High staff turnover, very poor handling of package deliveries resulting in loss or potential theft. Inconsistent quality of the app used to manage requests. Not ideal cleaning of amenities. Often the gym is out of towels and sanitary wipes. Return calls to voicemail messages for me has been poor.
Buildings, garages, amenities, maintenance service, and location are excellent! The self-car wash service is definitely good for me. I'm a heavy user of it.
I have lived at the District almost 1 year and am eager to re-sign my lease! It truly feels like a community and family living here. Everyone is very friendly and is very pet-friendly as well! The new maintenance group is fantastic, answering requests very timely. The front office (especially Noelle) has really been an asset to the team during the transition of ownership of the building. She has gone above and beyond her duties helping everyone on site!
The location of District is fabulous. The staff who work there are also receptive and as responsive as they can be considering the workload. I like them. Customer service from them is very good. The problems I see are with the quality of the construction overall and construction workers. This is an expensive property to rent. When we moved in one week ago today, the carpets were dirty and there is a burn hole in the bedroom carpet. There are ants crawling in the kitchen and bathroom and I am on the third floor. The door stop on porch door is missing and door handle hits the bedroom window when opening. The door stop in guest bedroom was carelessly left laying on a shelf in the room and not installed. The hoses for the washer and dryer were reversed, causing me to wash expensive cold water only garments in hot water. There is dried caulking or material on the outside of the windows that we cannot remove, affecting our view of the river. It just appears the construction crew were careless with food they were eating (ants), possibly smoking, didn't finish work or take care with carpet. We are disappointed and hope that these issues are resolved in a timely manner. I am hoping this review will motivate NRP to make improvements with construction workers, accountability and their oversite and inspection of work.
We've been living in the District for a few weeks now, which has been a good experience. The location is perfect, the apartment is exceptionally well thought out, delivering nearly everything we were looking for in an apartment and a reasonable price. The appliances seem to overall be good - a nice microwave and stove, great sink/faucet, a very high-quality two-door fridge/freezer, but a flimsy, completely plastic dishwasher. It cleans fine but doesn't dry well and is loud. The general construction of the apartment is mediocre. There are some paint stains on the floors & patio. The doors have chipped paint on some of the edges from being closed before they were dry. On the plus side, the kitchen is very well designed, with ample and thought-out cabinetry, quartz(?) countertops, and great lighting. Similarly, the bathrooms are well thought out, with nice quiet fans, solid water pressure, great mirrors with built-in lights, and good showerheads. The toilets feel cheap but are more than fine. The flooring, in general, is sub-par - there are noticeable raised and recessed portions. There's a 2" in diameter dip in the floor (probably an imperfection/hole in the underlying plywood) in the middle of the floor that's obvious in the morning sunlight, or if you sink your heel into it while walking around. In the hallways, the floor is clearly not level for some portions and even bounces slightly when walking. I am not bothered by the quality or imperfections of the flooring but rather the repercussions of doing it so cheaply. Last week, our upstairs neighbor moved in. We can hear and feel their every step. When they walk around, each step reverberates through our apartment, often causing the walls to creak. I can pinpoint their exact location in their apartment since their footsteps translate so directly into ours. We cannot hear anything any sort of spoken language, music, or TV shows coming from upstairs or downstairs, or from anywhere else on our floor - the sound insulation seems to be fine. It seems like the footsteps are so jarring because of poor floor structure/bracing - the same reason you can feel the floors in the hallways bounce. If I could, I'd probably give the apartment a 3.5. I am unhappy with the construction quality, but, it checks off every box for what we wanted as an apartment, in a wonderful location, for a reasonable price. I am happy with the layout, the design, and the management.
I am relocating to PA, from the Midwest in October 2021. I have been looking at apartments a thousand miles away and it has been very frustrating not knowing very much about Pittsburg, and getting very little response from other communities. Then I met Morgan, everything changed. She has made my experience much easier. She has went out of her way to video conference viewings of multiple, gorgeous, large, well laid out apartments. Morgan answers emails promptly to answer my never ending questions, even at 10pm at night. I had a list of things I really wanted in a home, lots of windows, river view, balcony, washer/dryer in unit, and built ins (yes alot of them have amazing built ins) She listened to everything I wanted, and gave me my options, All of my options had exactly what I was looking for. Application process was a breeze, all online. If Morgan is even half as great at managing these brand new beautiful units, after they are filled, I will be a very happy tenant. The pool is amazing, rooftop are will be great. I can not wait to start my new adventure in my new place at The District. I can thank Morgan enough for making this such an easy transition from over a 1000 miles away.
