Property Ratings at The Drake
My experience with the Drake so far has been disappointing. Customer service with office workers has been consistently unsatisfactory (don't respond to emails, try to avoid helping customer or push request onto someone else, says to contact them to resolve issues on days they are off/unavailable to take the call etc). Also, the door to the trash compactor is always locked, there's always litter outside the building (same trash will remain outside building for weeks), tenants leave their pets stool by entrance, can tell the paint job was rushed to get apartment move in ready as soon as possible, lack of security cameras in side stairwells (where most of the trouble seems to happen), even though there are gates and a security booth, it is unmanned and anyone can come onto the premises anytime of day as they please, and the list goes on and on. Hopefully things will improve, but my suggestion is to stay elsewhere, and my family is going to seek to do the same.

This place is full of awful management and awful Tennant's. Dirty apartments with trash all over the outside and balcony's. Can't get anything properly fixed if you need it. Dogs poop outside and no one picks it up, even the owners don't half the time. Trash piles up in the dumpster constantly resulting in it scattered around the buildings. Cockroaches have been living in the building for months now, in the hallways and even the apartments. I know mine has them because of the traps. Laundry room floods and is full of mold. On top of that the washers don't even work half the time. They don't close the gates at night so it's a disaster trying to find a parking place on top of the people who make their own spots. Someone has been shot here and someone was apparently raped outside of the building a few months back. This place just drags in scum. Stay away!!!!!

Worst place I've ever lived!!! Wish I could give it half a star! Doors are always wide open, drug dealers and creeps wandering and hanging out in hallways! I was almost raped and robbed at my apartment door at 1pm in the daylight due to the doors always being open and random people wandering in from off the street!! Due to the doors being wide open the same guy tried to also rape and rob another woman as well! Apartment management said too bad so sad and nothing has changed, doors still left open day and night with no security presence at all (although they claim we have after hours security and it's 1 old man they have passing out notices and does nothing else). Thank god for Mayfield Police because they are always here day and night! Literally looking for and arresting people! Not sure who they allow to live here because it seems like just anyone. The maintenance staff is barely wears uniforms so you have no idea who's working and who's wandering. No improvements but a steady rental increase for poor service and no safety. Word from other tenants I've been warned that I'll pay severly to move out but it'll be worth it to feel safe in my own space. From the start the leasing agent lied...my apartment was barely cleaned from prior move out, the carpet I was told would be replaced was not and the walls weren't even painted from the last tenant. Now when maintenance comes they fix what they want if they fix anything and leave. Bugs everywhere, filthy laundry room, the hallways stink so badly it makes my apartment smell, always broken elevators and I allegedly stay in the model building. Do not move here, it is a waste of money and management could care less about the tenants or their safety!!!
Horrible and rude staff. No real security and dog crap all around, including dogs left on balconies and they bark, every hour on the hour.. The was a Class B building, but Morgan Communities has turned it in to a Class C building, while milking their residents with less than services, hallways and lobbies rarely cleaned, water leaks atlot, leaving water marks all over the place and high risk of mold or lead exposure. The package room? That guy is rarely there.. Anyways, Do not move here and I hope that atleast half of the residents move out.. Maybe, then they will get better management and staff and clean up this dump. Not worth the money they are asking....
Its like this place was very nice and I recommend Gates Mills because is owned by K & D. The Drake was owned by K & D until it was sold and the new mangement is awful, and like the previous review stated that you will be talked down like you or not a person but like a cat or dog. This is suppose to be luxury it is nothing like that at all and people are moving out here like crazy because of they way they have been treated as residents.
This place is terrible!! They are very unprofessional, they lie about you owing money and you don't, the accounting Angela is VERY I MEAN VERY RUDE!!! she talks to you like your beneath her and won't do anything to solve your problems just point fingers like a child,Elevator in building 5 gets stuck at least twice a month, I wouldn't recommend this place to ANYONE not even a cat!!
I must admit, the property is quite nice. The they do a decent job of keeping the grounds maintained. Having said that, the customer service is the worst I've experienced. The property manager is very rude, and uninterested in assisting in even the simplest of way. If maintainable come while you're not home, they don't leave a note or notify you in any way that your maintenance request was completed. You just have to assume that thay came and did what they were supposed to. If you order packages...do not even consider this place. If the package attended isn't working any given day, they will REFUSE to give you your property. They are disorganized and don't have any contingency plans. In short, it's an average place to live, but the first...and second...and third...and every subsequent issue that you have, I guarantee...you'll be very, very sorry you moved here. And to belabor the point, the shady looking maintenance man, stands out in from of the entrance of my building and smokes. One day I came home to find maintenance pushing a couch and love seat of the last person that lived in an apartment above me over the balcony...seriously! What if it had taken a bad bounce? Completely unprofessional. And again...the property manager...the rudest person that you'll come across. So it's very obvious why the staff is unprofessional.
Absolutely terrible place to live!! STAY AWAY! This company will try to take your money anyway that they can. They are nothing but a bunch of SCAMMERS. Horrible customer service, no respect for their tenants, and they are not truthful people. Also seems to be a new person working in their office everyday, very high turnover of employees. They claimed that my rent was not paid when I clearly paid rent, paperwork had been "misplaced" when it was signed at their desk in their office. They make up numbers for what fees that you owe them and refuse to print bills to show the breakdown. The location itself is great but it is not worth it to live there. Ridiculous joke of a company!
This company will literally do anything and everything possible to scam you out of every penny you have. If you do decide to take the risk of moving into this dump make sure you have copies of all paperwork, pictures of the apartment when you move in and when you move out, and everything in writing. Be sure to send them weekly letters two months before you move out and be sure all are dated or they will likely try to charge you and say you didn't contact them. Better yet if you move here just throw your money out your window. Worst experience with an apartment ever.
I currently reside at The Drake Apts. It is in a great location wherein if you do not drive everything is relatively close. T, he area is a residential area and it is very quiet. The buildings have their own perks. We have a beautiful clubhouse and a fitness center if you want to get our workout on. It works for me because essentially I am comfortable, we have Courtesy Officer on site from 6:00-1:00 a.m. It is a pet friendly area there are more dogs on the premises than cats. For the most part The Drake is a nice place to live.
The location of this is perfect; right in the heart of downtown Mayfield Heights. Every business you could possibly need is less than a 5-10 minutes drive. You are less than 5 minutes away from the freeway, and approximately 25 minutes away from downtown Cleveland. The Drake itself is very nice for what you pay. For the most part, the common areas quiet and kept clean. There is a workout center, playground, swimming pool, tennis court, and party room. A few things that I don't like is the garage is not attached to the buildings, not every floor has a laundry room, and there is only one location to load your wash card. I think it is a great place for a young couple/family looking for nice suburban living on a budget.
I moved in & the first time I used my tub there was a leak, 3mos later another leak 3wks after that another one & not to mention that there is now mold growing in my closet.... Oh & also mold growing in my toilet which I didn't even know was possible Won't be resigning my lease (I didn't want to give them any stars but apparently you have to so disregard the star)
The price is not worth it. The management is awful nothing they promise gets done. The remodel is only to make it look nicer nothing more. The fire alarm rings weekly, the elevators don't work right half the time. It is by far the worst apartment I have ever lived in. I can't wait for my lease to be up.
