Was excited to move here, but after I did someone bought the complex and decided to do a bunch of renovations. It's been nothing but noise, trash, inconveniences, new charges/increases on my monthly bill, and nonstop people coming in and out of my apartment. The gate is never closed (even before construction), they hound you with emails/texts/paper notices/threats of additional charges, and the surrounding area of the dumpster is always DISGUSTING and overflowing. Maybe one day it will be 'premier.'

The new management is terrible. Does not care about tenets. We are receiving new messages constantly telling us we need to make some adjustment to our lives so they can carry out these renovations with 2 days notice. Threatening us with fees or towing our cars. This has been at least weekly sometimes multiple times in one week. If they want to make all these changes all at once they need to wait until the units are unoccupied. And when we ask to break the lease so that they can carry out these renovations without it disturbing our peace, they refuse to let you out of the lease without paying a large fee. I never agreed to having to constantly making adjustments in my life for this complex.

Been living at Wimberly since end of Sept 2018 and absolutely love it! The maintenance team is always on point. They attend to our requests same day and you can tell they actually get along with one another! Leasing office always has resident events and the team is just so friendly! Matt, Brie and Shayna are always willing to help and are super friendly. Thank you guys for making this a great place for my family and I. Only thing I would change would be the garbage dump in the front. Its always full, perhaps you can have the container emptied more often.
Place has really gone downhill since purchased by Olympus. If you see older reviews about how great the staff is, they’re the same people but not they now act completely differently and they, like too many Jax apartment communities, will want above and beyond the deposit at lease termination. The grounds have too much dog poop and your pooch has a decent chance of at least experiencing worms while living here. Also, it’s more safe to go further east on Gate as this is too close to Southside and has not so great neighborhoods on the other side of the apartment walls. Don’t walk away from here, run!!
Our valet trash service is by far the most unreasonable part about living at wimberly. They seem to have more rights and respect from the wimberly team than the hundreds of tenants paying thousands of dollars a month. You charge us monthly for their services and then charge us for breaking unreasonable rules about "trash procedure". There is no point in paying or using the trash service because they don't do a good job and don't always pick up, they aren't consistent, you have a 2 hour window to put your trash out or you get fined, and they can't even be bothered to put the trash can back in front of the door it belongs to consistently, and they get better vacation and holiday hours and most of the people living here (i.e. No trash service) Not to mention the other dozen rules they have that you charge 25$ for, but we can't charge you back when they forget to pick up, rip your bag and leave trash in the can or in front of your door. This trash system is garbage. The company is garbage. I'm sure it benefits wimberly at Deerwood financially having this company constantly charging your tenants thousands of dollars a week of erroneous violations but it is an extreme incentive to not live here anymore . No one wants to feel trapped in a system that squeezing money out of them against their will, or that they are getting bullied . Especially in a living situation. (By a trash company) It's sad you all value the trash more than your tenants, the worse part is that you don't care we know it, you just shrug your shoulders and charge us.
Rented apartment here for 2 years, it looked nice enough. Had total coach roach issues, kept having exterminator come but most if time they never showed up. Never resolved this issue. Watch out when it comes to getting security deposit back, they will rip you off charging you for normal wear and tear on your rugs. Charging you for unnecessary things like paint even though you spackeld like they said. All I can say is i rent somewhere else, and niw i rent a townhouse and have no coach roach issues ever, and it's not even in a desirable area. Good luck if you decide to rent here!
I wish someone would do something about it, it's very embarrassing and gross , 2 mattresses have been just sitting there for about 2 weeks and it's always overflowing with junk...needs to be put somewhere else where I don't have to look at it everyday , I don't even want company to come over.... too embarrassed
I just moved to Jacksonville for a new job. My company put me at The Wimberly at Deerwood. I was pleasantly surprised and found that it was a very nice complex, nice amenities, and friendly staff.
Wimberly at Deerwood is located in a great area of Jacksonville! It is just minutes away from Tinseltown and Town Center. We have anything from fast food to a Brazilian Steak house. Also you are minutes away from great shopping as well!! The staff here are exceptional. They know my family by name! The apartments have multiple fenced in dog parks and plenty of grassy areas for our furry friends. Also the Wimberly has a rather large pool, that includes both an outdoor grill area and multiple lounge chairs. They also have and indoor half court basketball court, a good sized gym and a theater area! Wimberly at Deerwood has the best animates we have seen so far!!
My apartment community is great the staff here is super, and the complex has the best amenities for everybody. It is in a great location very close to everything.
I had the pleasure to live in the Wimberly at Deerwood for 3 years, and it was an absolute pleasure. I have lived in several apartment complexes over that past 10 years, and this was by far the best experience I have had. The office staff (especially Rob and Amy) were great to work with, and even just to pop in and chat with. The apartment complex was quiet and very well maintained. Over the past year a new property management company has taken over and has put a lot of money into a make over of the complex including repairing any wood or stone that was bad, new paint on the exteriors, new granite counter tops and stainless steel sinks. The maintenance staff were all friendly and no request that I put in over the 3 years ever took more than a day to take care of. The location was perfect, with many restaurants (including the town center) within 5 minutes. I would recommend this complex to anyone with no hesitation.
