Property Ratings at The Drexel Collective
Same maintenance issues since we moved in in October. We were also promised $1000 off our rent which never happened. Our friend who referred us was supposed to receive $250 which never happened.
Property Manager at The Drexel Collective, Responded To This Review
Our team strives to address resident concerns promptly and efficiently and we apologize for your experience. We want to discuss both the maintenance request and the concessions you have referred to for both yourself and your friend. We encourage you and your friend to please email us at thedrexel@pacapts.com or stop by our leasing office when you can. We look forward to speaking with you both!
My tenure at Drexel collective has unfortunately been marked by a series of disappointments, primarily stemming from the management's apparent lack of attention to basic amenities and security concerns. Two glaring issues stand out: the neglect of maintenance requests and the persistently broken front gate. Firstly, despite submitting multiple maintenance requests for my dishwasher and stove, the management has regrettably chosen to disregard these issues. It's disheartening to experience such negligence, as a fully functioning kitchen is essential to daily life. The unresponsiveness to these basic concerns has significantly impacted my satisfaction with living in this community, as the kitchen is a fundamental part of any home. Equally concerning is the state of the front gate, which has been broken for a staggering 16 months. This prolonged period of disrepair not only undermines the aesthetic appeal of the complex but, more importantly, raises serious security concerns for all residents. The lack of a functioning gate compromises the safety of the entire community, leaving us exposed to potential security risks. Despite my efforts to bring these matters to the attention of the management, there has been little to no improvement. The frustration and inconvenience caused by the unresolved maintenance requests, coupled with the prolonged security risk posed by the broken front gate, have left me questioning the commitment of Preferred Apartment or new owner Blackstone Real Estate to the well-being of its residents. Prospective tenants should be aware of these ongoing issues before considering Drexel collective as their home. It is my sincere hope that the management will take swift action to address these concerns and prioritize the safety and satisfaction of its residents, ensuring a more positive living experience for all.

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. We apologize for the delay in resolving your maintenance needs, and we are eager to turn your experience around. Could you please email us at thedrexel@pacapts.com so we can make arrangements? We hope to hear from you soon.
I can confirm the previous "renter beware" review. Happened to me today. I was told AFTER I applied for a unit that was supposed to be available 9/19 would not be available to move into until October 4th. From the very first day of inquiring, I informed management team I needed to move as soon as possible. There was no communication as far as when my unit would be available only that it would be about a week after the unit was available (which is asinine because you should have a week buffer before putting on the market to give time for maintenance to turn over. I was told today that I selected October 4th as my move in day online and I'm positive that isn't true because there is no prompt to choose your Move in day when applying. IF YOU PLAN TO MOVE HERE MAKE SURE YOU SCHEDULE MOVE IN DAY PRIOR TO APPLYING OR YOU WILL BE RAILROADED
Property Manager at The Drexel Collective, Responded To This Review
We strive to make the leasing and move-in processes seamless, so we are sorry for any confusion. Could you please email us at thedrexel@pacapts.com so we can get this sorted? We want to do all we can to get you in a home as soon as possible.
I love it here! It’s pretty quiet, I love my unit, just wish the flooring would have been cleaned properly because there’s like stains and glue or something that won’t come out
The management at The Drexel Collective is simply incapable of doing their jobs and don't care at all about their residents/future residents. I applied for an apartment via their online portal paying $450 doing so, only to be approved and given a lease with a move-in date a week out from when I applied for and a different rate. I spent 14 DAYS trying everything I could (emailed, called, went to leasing office) to get them to fix this issue with absolutely ZERO communication in return. When they stopped responding to my emails I had to dispute the change with my bank for the application and admin fee. It looks like the building somehow got their reviews wiped recently but a lot of residents were complaining about similar issues with management and even saying how they had to take them to court. Save yourself the trouble, there are much nice complexes in the area where the management actually treats you with respect.
Cons: -Additional MONTHLY charge of $150 to $200 dollars for the "Community" Electricity. This will be added to water bill, etc. -They will offer free food from food trucks, but literally there's only maybe 5 to 6 free plates out of hundreds of people who live here lol smh. -I smell weed on every corner Pros: Nice pools, (often very packed when opened) Area is nice (for the most part)
I love this community, it has such beautiful surroundings and peaceful in the city. I had a great move-in experience with everything scheduled on my day of move-in went smoothly. Osman and Crystal were a great help in answering all my questions and recommended services in the area. I can't wait to enjoy some of the resident events coming up this month as well. The gym is also amazing, way better than most fitness clubs were you pay membership fees.
Pros: Community service and organization are so good. Workers are friendly and helpful. They perform friendly activities to increase communication. Cons: Some of the residents are irresponsible. They litter in public areas and don't clean their pet's poo.
We’ve lived here for 6 years and I can vouch that this place is horrible. It used to be the jewel of Dunwoody, but it’s been in decline for years from changes of ownership and management, even tho we were told each would bring great improvements. What you see, and the attention you receive when you go to view the apartments, will not match the lived experience once you’re a resident. The complex is filthy, dog poop everywhere including outside our door, as well as puddles of urine; some residents walk their dogs off the leash; there’s trash everywhere around the site; the place isn’t cleaned properly; I’ve found chicken bones and fertilizer pellets dumped on the path, and my dog has had to be rushed to the vets for poisoning twice; the landscaping is neglected; there’s rats; cockroach infestations; we’ve had multiple break-ins; gates are constantly broken allowing criminals to get in and steal cars; cars have been smashed up; the elevator is frequently broken; I’ve heard drug dealing goes on in the parking deck; most of office personnel are rude and ineffectual; no one ever answers the phones to residents but will on the potential resident extension, which tells you something right there; calls are never returned - I believe I’ve had just two returned in the past three years; residents are charged for the complex lighting and gas for grills; the courtesy service is rarely available and they never return calls; maintenance system is an absolute joke - we’ve been left waiting months several times and things never got fixed; the appliances are so old they are breaking, but good luck getting a replacement; there’s yelling and fighting going on in our hall frequently; residents play extremely loud music including during antisocial hours; and management don’t take responsibility for anything. They just don’t care about their residents. They have heard the same issues over and over again from many of us, yet the problems persist. This sums it up - I recently met a new resident who had been here just a few days who told me they already felt they had made one of the biggest mistakes of their life. In our experience, it’s not a very nice place to live now
Literally just called to ask a couple of leasing questions... first I got hung up on when I said "hello". Then, I call back and the guy on the phone proceeded to be dry and rude. I asked if I was speaking to Graystar Apartments and apparently I had the name wrong and he let me know. Then I said his customer service was sub-par and I wasn't sure if I'd want to live there.. he just condescendingly said.. "Well, ok. Thank you." THIS PLACE HAS NO SERVICE SKILLS AND COULD CARE LESS ABOUT IT!!!
This place has really declined with new management. The new managers simply just don't care. Crime is awful and they haven't done anything about it nor have they been transparent with the residents about everything going on. The only way you get the truth is from hearing about things on Nextdoor or other social media platforms. The new management doesn't even leave their offices to go over and do walk throughs of the two adjacent properties now that they are all combined. They probably couldn't tell you if there were people camped out in areas of the property since they never walk around. They also never answer the phone and very rarely respond to emails and completely ignore emails asking questions they don't want to answer or have the answers in writing. Trash is piling up and it will be left there for days and not moved - disgusting - causes all sorts of bug issues, abandoned cars all over the property that have never been moved. (again if they did walk throughs maybe just maybe they would notice). any 5 star reviews you see on this or other sites are not written by actual tenants. People that live here are way too unhappy.
I have lived here for three years, and this was once an amazing place to live. They had grab and go breakfast, quick maintenance response and things were well maintained. However, they have now changed the management company and things are rough. We have had a termite infestation. We have an on going cockroach infestation across the entire complex that is something out of nightmares. We also have a a rat infestation around all of the dumpster that they are trying to solve. The gates are constantly broken, and we have had a string of break ins. Last month my window was broken on my vehicle and my wheels stolen using the lug lock from my glove box. This is the second time my vehicle has been broken into since I lived here. The detective let me know the cameras don't work anymore and even when they did the quality was to poor to make out license plates. Additionally, they have started requiring you put a credit card on file for guest parking, and they charge it is there over 24 hours. They are constantly booting people without the required app and card on on file. Lastly, they tried to raise my rent $500 year to year. Luckily they were negotiable after the start of the pandemic, and we were able to meet in the middle.
I cant say enough good things about this property! Perfect location and super walkable to my favorite brunch places!!! parking for resident is super convenient and secure. The centralized elevator will take you directly to your floor and i don't have to worry about the long walks from the parking garage to my apartment! The staff is super nice and professional, I dealt with Frank , You guys are great! Thanks a lot !!! T.Anderson
This place has gone down hill since the new Mgmt Company has taken over. The people that used to work here would really love to interact with the residents and went out of their way to make you have a good living experience. Not anymore. Since the new management company came on board they have stopped ALL events. You have a hard time finding anyone when you have questions and they basically act like they don't want to have any interaction with the residents at all. If you are looking for a nice place to move with good social activities avoid this place, you won't find any here.
This place has gone downhill since Alliance took it over. They clearly do not want anything to do with anyone that lives on their property. There used to be events NOT ONE person would show up from the office to mingle with the residents. Now they've stopped doing events period. If you stop by the office you are treated like you are an annoyance, if there is even anyone there. If you want to move somewhere that they have social events and actually care about who lives there and try to get to know you this is not the place. It's no wonder there have been a ton of people moving out.
I lived at the Drexel for around 2.5 years. The apartments are well appointed and offer very spacious layouts. I found the additional living and study space of the S1 to be amazing. There are ample opportunities to meet other members of the community (if you wish) and access to the gym, pool and other shared spaces is never an issue (or too busy/noisy). The maintenance team was also fast to complete any questions/issues that came up (sometimes within minutes; even to just to change a globe). The Community Director and staff were always friendly, approachable and made me feel welcome and at home. No question or request was ever an issue. The location is convenient for access to shops, restaurants and other facilities in Perimeter/Dunwoody (many just walking distance from the apartment). I would recommend this community to anyone looking for an apartment in the area. I had to move overseas, if I didn’t, I would still be living at the Drexel!
New management doesn’t care. Asked to fix chip painting on doors or nails in the floor... nothing. Asked to rent a storage place... never got one. Worse is that they have many empty ones. Asked about Christmas tree disposal, they told me it was my own problem. Filed a noise complaint and the assistant manager told me that he can write a letter to the other renter and that’s all. This place is nice but when management doesn’t care... better take my business elsewhere.
There have been several apartment break ins and cars stolen at this complex and at the adjacent complexes recently. The apartments are nice, but the management is not transparent. Would not recommend.
I lived here for 1 year and couldn't wait to leave. Sometimes there is a bad smell in the air, smells like sewage. People in the office don't know anything about customer service. They rarely return calls and are very dishonest. Walls are super thin, can hear everything around you. Can hear walking above even in the hallways of the building and they always send an email that the main elevator isn't working.
My brother and I stayed here for 3 years. The experience in the first and second year were great but 2017 was not great, hence we left. Community manager changed in late 2016 and the new management is really bad with no focus towards cleaning or maintenance. The emergency 24 hour maintenance number does not exist but the management still posts it everywhere. Previous management organized a lot of useful events such as monthly yoga sessions with an expert trainer, community events with wine and food (paid by the management), wine and painting classes etc. however, new management is all about cost cutting. The events are now organized by a group formed of residents and requires bringing your own food and alcohol. No wonder very few people come to these events. Management is never present in any of these, but still advertises those to make people believe that they are organizing it. Quality of the apartments are fair but quality of the appliances are not great. Most of them seems to be 8 to 10 years old and are neither energy efficient (as per current standards) nor effective. Dishwasher and washer/dryer in our apartment were piece of crap. Cleanliness in the common areas is also a Big Problem. Parking is so strictly enforced that my friend’s car was towed within 30 mins for parking in a resident only area. He parked there as the guest parking was full. Management advertises free breakfast as a big deal, but the quality is really bad. Most of the items are gone within 15-20 mins and they never restock it. When you complain, there standard reasoning is budget issues. All in all, I would suggest staying away from this place.
