About The Ecoliving House at 424 W 47th St

As of 4/23/2021, we have been under new management! The Ecoliving House at 424 West 47th offers the only sustainable co-living experience in the heart of Manhattan. What is co-living? It's a shared housing community where members have their own private bedrooms and share kitchens, living rooms, and other common spaces with other members. Pricing for private bedrooms is all inclusive of furniture, utilities, wifi, laundry, 2x a week cleaning, basic supplies, and community events. Flexible lease lengths are allowed (minimum 1 month), with discounts at 1 year leases. There are three apartment layouts in the building. Apartment finishes: The bedrooms are furnished with a bed, nightstand, two sets of ceiling lights, and a ceiling fan. The kitchens are appointed with high-end cabinets imported from Germany, Dekton countertops, induction cooktops, and they’re fully stocked with dishware, cooking tools, appliances, and other essentials. Many of the bedrooms have private en-suite bathrooms. All bathrooms are equipped with Bio-bidet heated smart toilet seats and low-flow High Sierra showerheads. Building Amenities: On the ground floor, a tastefully designed common lounge is accessible to all members, highlighted by a Mondrian-inspired sequin wall in the lobby. Storage cages and bike racks are available in the cellar, and a gym is coming soon! Crowning the building is a stunning Shigeo Kawasaki-designed green roof with a front-row seat to the midtown skyline. A Sustainable Community: There is a plethora of eco-friendly hardware in the building. The green roof features a 40-panel, 14.4 kW solar canopy (one of only a few in Manhattan). Motion sensor lights have been installed strategically throughout the building, mirror arrays redirect sunlight to the lower floors, and low-flow showerheads and toilets are in every bathroom. But the heart of The Ecoliving House is our community. And every member is encouraged to adopt sustainable practices outlined at move-in, like participating in our composting and gardening program on the roof. Furthermore, we regularly host community events where you can meet other members throughout the building so you can build relationships that last beyond your stay with us. Neighborhood: The Ecoliving House is ideally situated between restaurant row, Broadway, Times Square, and the scenic Hudson River Park. The A/C/E/1/N/R/W and Port Authority are within a 10-minute walk, and a Citibike station is on the corner of 47th and 10th.

Great building

Overall a great experience starting from the lease signing and up to solving some small issues with a a new property management team which is very responsive and helpful.

Best Apartment in My 4 Years Living in NYC

I just moved when management changed, and this is easily the best experience that I've had since relocating to NYC in 2018. It's especially reassuring to know that both the Super and the Property Manager are easily reachable. Previous landlords that I've dealt with would rarely ever respond to my calls, or would take months to complete the smallest repairs. Pros: -One flat rate (which includes amenities, utilities and cleanings) is a huge plus when managing my monthly budget. -The management cares about my well-being. Everything from regularly checking in and holding packages, to staying on top of bi-weekly cleanings, replenishing supplies and completing repairs within a day or two. -The rooftop deck is beautifully furnished with an unobstructed view, and the property manager just installed/assigned plots of land for each apartment to grow whatever they wish. Cons: -A little more expensive compared to other shared apartments, but it's worth the premium considering the apartments are modern and fully furnished, staff is responsive and the amenities + utilities + services are all-inclusive.

Great Experience

I have enjoyed my time at this property. The new management has really made a difference. They are attentive and quick to respond. The changes they have made improved the quality of the building and living experience. The weekly cleaning of the apartments common area and the garbage service is super convenient. The rooftop is an amazing space! And the WiFi reaches to the roof, making it a great space to do work. The management really thinks about resident needs and creating a sense of community. Will continue to recommend this building to all friends both new and old to NYC.

NON EXISTENT WIFI

ABSOLUTELY NO WIFI AND NOT A SINGLE ETHERNET PORT ANYWHERE IN THE BUILDING. No GRILL, NO YARD, More than half of those amenities do not exist!! I wish I read the first review before I got stuck here

We have commercial grade wifi on site covering 100% of the building and the roof, so "NO WIFI" is completely false. Regarding a grill/yard, we don't advertise these as amenities anywhere. We don't have them. We do have a 2000sf green roof & deck, but cannot legally have a grill up there.

Fantastic Building & Location

This building is under new management that has completely changed the living quality for the better. While the old management ignored requests and made issues within the building out of hand, the new management has eradicated the issue with rats and introduced efficient communication. Bonus: the rooftop is a gem to NYC living.

As of 4/23/2021, we have changed to an independent owner-managed structure and are exceedingly proactive about not only fixing all past issues, but making a number of improvements and adding amenities to the building.
