Property Ratings at The Edge at Main
Just writing this review to let people know that this is a really nice place to live. The staff is friendly and cordial. I love the life on Main Street, it’s a hidden gem.

Thank you for the 5 star review of The Edge at Main!
I have rented an apartment for a year. When I moved out I left the apartment in great condition. I mean very very good. Just a couple of small holes from the artwork and TV - nothing major. They deducted almost $1,000 for painting the WHOLE unit. I'm still trying to find out why. If you "lucky enough" to deal with them, make sure to take a lot of pictures before and after, which I did not do. They also will deduct right off start for cleaning the apartment and carpet almost $300. So here you go. Good luck.

Linda was one of the first people I met at The Edge. She is always offering to help, and no matter what the ask, she does it with a smile. I moved from the second floor to the fourth and my experience was the same, the apartment sparkled from top to bottom. None of this would happen without Linda. She has been steadfast during the pandemic and outlived others in her position that were not as good. I hope The Edge management realizes what a gem they have in Linda. She ROCKS!

She is truly an amazing person and truly does care about the community! She will be pleased of your high praise and happy to hear of your compliments. Thank you again for your time and kind recognition towards our staff members! Thank you - Management
Where do I begin? Back in 2017 we moved to this beautiful glamorous apartment in Somerville. So we thought. Over the past 4 years I cannot believe the decline in the quality standard. From rats and used condoms in the stairwell, neighbors blasting their bass all hours of the night (my picture frames would move), to the FIVE DAY DELAY when a smoke detector was malfunctioning in our bedroom- I couldn’t be happier to get out of this living hell. Through covid restrictions they raised out amenity fee and restricted any access to the gym. The front staff is not helpful and constant passes the buck with requests. They nickel and dime you for everything you’re worth. 0/10 recommend. There are much better places to live in Somerville
In addition to the quality of care that the concierges give us, the building is within walking distance of many amenities including a supermarket, numerous restaurants serving different foods, town hall and county offices, post office and train station. Should I need to help someone to find a rental, I would direct him or her toward The Edge at Main. I have been living at the Edge at Main and it consistently has been high quality.

Thank you for taking the time to provide your positive feedback! It is truly appreciated when our residents see the effort put by our team to make living at The Edge at Main exceptional. We hope to continue making your living experience here extraordinary. With Warmest Regards, Management
The apartments are very spacious and overall very nice (not luxury, like they claim, but not rundown either). The price is definitely very steep for what you get, with the amenity fee being equally pricey for what it includes (unless you use the fitness center, then it’s worth it). The elevators are constantly out of service, which is terrible because the main elevator doesn’t have a stair case near it. You will actually have to leave the building, then renter the building through another entrance to get your packages/to the main desk when the elevator is broken - an extreme inconvenience seeing as the elevator is often broken for weeks and weeks. Drifters from the nearby train station also like to stroll along the outside of the building, drunkenly asking for change here and there. For the price you’re really not getting all that much. It’s a corporately run building that loves to charge fees. Definitely avoid/find less expensive options, Somerville has plenty of them!
Been living here for many years, it sure has gone downhill. The staff used to be extremely professional and the best part of the building. There is so much turnover, and they use this facility for training for others, that everything is a crap shoot. Sometimes they are happy to get your package, other times it is like you are doing them a favor. Sometimes they bring your dry cleaning upstairs, other times you find it hanging in the gym for days. The building is definitely new, not luxury. The construction is pretty shoddy and starting to show its age. Cracks in walls, broken elevators, and out of date appliances. Parking is also a major hassle. No garage, the lot that is supposedly 'reserved' for tenants is a hike away and is always filled with non residents looking for free parking. Makes for fun when you have to bring in packages in the rain, clean the snow off your car, etc. At the rent rates they charge, you can do much better with some of the other developments in town. Given the above, I am almost certainly not going to renew my lease. There are better values in town and even more coming. I used to highly recommend the Edge at Main, but they have lost my recommendation as well as my business.
Very happy here, my family and guests are very impressed! The building is top-notch, very spacious rooms, and the closets are a shopper's dream. The building looks and smells brand new thanks to the hard working maintenance. Any maintenance requests are completed right away. The office staff have always been very professional, friendly and accommodating even before their recent extended hours. The restaurants in the area are superb from high-end to mom and pop. You will not be disappointed. If you feel like cooking, well guess whats behind the apartment building... your very own pantry, Shop-rite. Train station is right behind my apartment, so its easy for me to enjoy my weekends in the NYC. I have nothing but great things to say, I love it here!
I've lived here for several months and I am less than impressed. The customer service has been inconsistent. I walked into the office one day and the girls were lounging and gossiping about other people in the building. It made me very uncomfortable, I wonder what they say about me. The building is new, not luxury. Has no amenities, parking is a joke, construction is shoddy- I hear my neighbors and the noise for the street, ecspecially in the summer. I feel angry that I believed the lies I was told before I moved in. Whenever I go to pick up a package, the office is always closed. Sometimes midday!! I ran into the office girls in town one night and they were so drunk and acting extremely raunchy and unprofessional. Makes me nervous to think that they have my personal information. Run, don't walk, away fro this place!
Too much noise from outside. Cleaning up the snow from 12am-8am, power-washing the parking lot and blowing leaves/trashes etc. after 12am. What are these people thinking? People live here!!
I've lived here more than 5 months now, I love everything about 125 main except for the below reasons. No parking garage or gate, so the car is parked unattended Concierge opens late and closes early. There are times I work until 6pm and picking up packages is challenging. Train station is right around the corner but getting to Manhattan takes forever and the train runs every one hour. Staffs are usually not excited/eager to help. No pets allowed (so you can't invite your friends and their pet families) Time to time you will experience noises, especially if you are facing the ShopRite parking lot
Apartment: The building is brand new and very well made by the standards of large apartment buildings in the area. Compared to a renovated old building you definitely get what you pay for in the great insulation, built in true cooking extractors, central air ect. Finishes are high quality. Massive windows in the room. Gym is 24/7 and well stocked. Comparable to a luxury high rise apartment you'd find in NYC but with way more space. Service: The front desk staff are extremely nice and helpful in anyway way they can be. There is a high quality coffee machine and breakfast provided on Sundays. I really can't overemphasize how nice they are, but it makes the building very welcoming. My only negative, if I had to give one, is that while the building has similar rules to those of a high end apartment in NYC, they are very strictly enforced. I find this a bit odd, but it doesn't really impact me at all on a day to day basis. Location: The location is unbeatable. You are right on the developing section of Somerville main street with plenty of great restaurants and everything you need just a walk away. A Shop-Rite is located right behind the building. Additionally there are a handful of farms selling their products within a 20 minute drive for higher quality meats and produce if you like. Overall the location is the most walk able in both Somerville and the surrounding towns. Not only that, but they are building a second apartment block in the same style next door. I'd imagine the influx of people and high quality rental space will only bring in lots of new shops. Transport: This is NJ, so proximity to major transit arteries without living directly on one is important. US-202 and US-206 are about a 3 minute drive down main street, so it makes commuting generally quick and easy (if you don't count the roundabout of terror to enter the highway) and provides plenty of alternate entrances if one is blocked . The apartment is a 5 minute walk from the train station which has direct trains to NYC-Penn during off peak hours and lines to Newark during peak. It is $30 round trip to NYC ($400 monthly) and a relatively comfortable ride with 4G cell service nearly the entire way if you want to work or watch movies. Definitely commutable if you want to live out here and work in NYC relying you don't have to be there at 9am on the dot. Only complaint is that trains only run once an hour.
