Property Ratings at The Edge of Uptown
We came here right before the management change, Two nice, professional people greeted us and sold us instantly. Later on we came back to sign the lease and the new manager messed up on the time leased and price. Fair enough, being a new manager sucks we figured. Little did we know it was an omen of how awful this manager was. Maintenance requests are ignored, water is turned off without warning and package theifs run rampant. At one point a homeless guy lived in the laundry rooms because the locks didn't work. We got a letter saying they were raising the rent 300 dollars from what it originally was, nope. Do yourself a favor and just don't.
Pros: location is great, neighbors are quiet, fitness room is decent Cons: old building, ceilings leak all the time, maintenance takes forever- have been taking cold showers for 2 weeks after coming home to a flooded bathroom, hallways always smell, stairwells are disgusting, washing machines are horrible and don’t get clothes clean, company is unresponsive when it comes to incorrect charges Really wish I would have spent $100-200 extra per month on a different place. Although I appreciate the deal I was given when I moved in, this place is not worth it.
The current property manager does not do his job and no repairs ever get done. Get ready to get ignored.
I rented here from 2021-2023 and during my time here I generally liked The Edge of Uptown, had decent amenities and was in a convenient location. Unfortunately, in early 2023 there was a management change and things started to rapidly fall apart. While living at the Edge Of Uptown there were several maintenance issues which took weeks if not months to fix, constant water outages and problems in the building. There were frequent security issues with doors broken and packages being stolen, most of the amenities became unusable, people would park in your assigned garage spot multiple times, the surface parking lot was never plowed on time and worst of all the office staff treated you like dirt. Nobody in this building has a clue what they are doing, they don’t seem to care about their residents, they will straight up lie and gaslight to your face even when you want to look at other units in the building they become difficult and are not willing to work with you. If you are lucky you will get someone who answers the phone but most of the time nobody can be found in the office and they won’t answer your emails either. I would look elsewhere until management can get their act together, but don’t be surprised when they continue to raise your rent even though they make no effort to improve the building.
This place used to be great, but a new manager took over and now nothing is getting done. I have had a plumbing issue in my kitchen for months and no one has done anything about it. The ticket was placed in April and a follow up ticket was placed mid June and it's now July and nothing. The main office also doesn't respond to emails or messages from the resident portal so your only hope is to catch the manager in the office. Half the time the office is empty and the other half there is already someone there and you have to wait. I've been trying to turn in my 60 day notice for a week now and have gotten nowhere. Called corporate about it and Corp has been very helpful, but nothing is getting done in the office.
I feel like upkeep and improvements have been stagnant for awhile and I'm not sure if after my lease is up next year if I'll want to stick around if nothing changes. The rents keep going up but nothing more is getting done. So basically I'm just paying more into someone else's pocket instead of it going into community improvements. The carpets are so ugly and gross looking. It makes the new paint job kind of pointless since everything still looks scrubby. I'm genuinely embarrased to have people visit with how it looks right now. There are frequent issues with the washing machines that take weeks to months to get fixed. The garbage chute rooms don't ever seem to be cleaned. Those are my biggest issues but I just wish there was more care put in to my home. I know there's been a recent change in who works here so we'll see if that improves anything or not.
The Edge of Up Town is located in my opinion an a great neighborhood near by the lakes, restaurants, grocery stores , gas station, city hall, Starbuck and Caribou Coffe and easy access to the highway 100.
The Edge of uptown was a better place to live when I moved in 2020.Great team of management who helped with any and every issue.Julie,Jake and the big maintenance guy were very professional, personable and always ready and willing to help.Currently, the office staff don't seem knowledgeable or sure of what they are doing.Very unprofessional for the image of any business.Everybody needs to feel safe and comfortable where they live and to be in a clean space.Unfortunately it's not the case at all here at the Edge of Uptown anymore. The standard of The Edge if Uptown has overly deteriorated!
Nice apartments with good floor plans and the location is great. There are dishwashers and air conditioning units. Cats are allowed. Downsides are parking (especially in the winter) and noise, the building is right on Minnetonka Blvd so there is a lot of road noise.
Friendly building staff but the goldmark property management company is a bit to money focused and leaves little room for financial hardships.
Love my stay here. It's one of the best complexes in the area. Its also closer to major highways and retail stores.
Feels like home. Love the people and location. Have yet to have a negative experience in my many years of living here.
The edge is an excellent place for anyone looking for a spacious, well kept apartment complex at a reasonable price that’s next to just about everything.
I feel safe and comfortable in my apartment here, and love its simplicity and clean design.
What a great place to live! Ive been so satisfied with the building and the location. The staff are friendly and helpful!
Management is misleading. I can't explain the frustration of dealing with a leasing office that gives you misinformation let alone one that won't take responsibility for their actions.
I have lived at edge of uptown for close to 3 years and have had a great experience with friendly staff!
2020 has been a year most of us would like to forget. However I moved into Edge of Uptown at the beginning of the pandemic management and maintenance were available to help me in anyway possible and still maintain careful and conscientious awareness of our "new normal " with regard to resident health and safety. I made an excellent choice in picking Edge of Uptown as my new home.
The staff is friendly and helpful. I've had very positive experiences with management and maintenance. I would recommend The Edge of Uptown with no reservations whatsoever.
Nice location
solid building in a good location. excellent staff and friendly tenents.
Great staff, good quality apartments.
I have felt very welcomed here at the Edge! Great location lots to eat, and do around the area. Julie and Jake are quick to answer and help with anything. I would highly recommend investing in a garage spot, it has been well worth the money for me.
I really enjoy the location of The Edge of Uptown. Its right in the heart of St. Louis Park and close to Uptown and the lakes. It's a nice quiet and safe neighborhood. The management and maintenance staff are great to work with and are quick to respond to your wants and needs. It's been great having the indoor parking garage and not having to scrape off my car in the winter time. My first ten months here have been great!
A great community to live at. Starts with the management team and impacts the rest of the residents.
warm and welcoming
everything is good. I feel the rent fee for a cat should be omitted and raise the deposit if necessary.
The Edge of Uptown is a great place to live. The amenities are outstanding, the location is one of the best in town and the staff is amazing! I highly recommend living here if you are looking for a great location and ease of living.
The Edge of Uptown has a great location! Good people, good management! I will be definitely staying for another year!
Living at the Edge of Uptown is a great experience. The apartments are well put together, the amenities are amazing and the staff is first class! You always feel taken care of here and I would highly recommend living here!
I enjoy living at the edge of uptown. In particular, the coffee machine in the lobby is superb.
Living at the Edge of Uptown is a great experience. Not only is the facility top rate, and the staff is also amazing! The Edge is one of the most convenient places to live if you are interested in access to other parts of town. I can't recommend this place enough! David U.
If you want to live at The Edge, dont pick an apartment in the old building.
I have loved living at The Edge of Uptown since May 2019! The staff is very friendly and always eager to answer my questions and concerns. The area is safe and I have not any concerns taking my dog Sunny out at night for walks.
Great place with lots of amenities, good price, and great staff.
Julie the Property Manager is always quick to respond to my needs. Greg the Maintenance man is very pleasant and completes his fix it repairs within a day and leaves the place clean.
It is a comfortable and quiet community with helpful amenities
The staff is very kind and helpful!
Great location at a good price! The building is updated and nice
Really excited to be moved in and start living here! Super clean when I got here and very nice staff.
A residential apartment complex that is wonderful and makes my family feel at home
The Edge of Uptown staff is amazing. They are always responsive and caring in how they respond to our requests. We feel very well taken care ofl.
When I first moved in, there were a few minor things that needed to be touched up or fixed and management was great about getting it taken care of right away. The management here is very friendly and understanding. I love the underground heated parking garage and easy access to my apartment. The shopping carts we have are super convenient for bringing stuff in in one trip. I've even used them for moving furniture by myself. The renovations they're making to the common areas look great. Our maintenance guy is really good at what he does and they're very quick to respond to requests. Some of my apartment features are a little outdated, like kitchen, carpet, shelves, and windows. The location is decent but I think for a 24 yr old male I would enjoy being closer to Calhoun or Uptown.
The Edge of Uptown is a great apartment complex and community. It is safe, clean and offers many amenities we love. I highly recommend you take a look at the location because you will be pleasantly surprised by all it offers!
The staff and personnel at The Edge of Uptown have been fabulous to work with! Ive really enjoyed getting to know them as well as my neighbors. While the apartments and community amenities in the building seem average, The Edge of Uptown does have secure entries and video cameras which make the living space feel secure. I also love living so close to Minneapolis while also having access to a highway close-by. Although some updates are needed (which some are being attended to currently), The Egde of Uptown is a great place to live if you can afford it.
I have been a resident of The Edge for a little over a month and have been continuously been impressed with the friendliness of staff and quick turn around with maintenance requests! Very friendly community, looking forward to my continuing stay here.
The Edge of Uptown is a great location to live - centrally located in the Minneapolis Area to EVERYTHING. The amenities are perfect and the staff is both friendly and attentive. One of the best apartment experiences I have had.
The edge of uptown is in a great location, it is quiet and my apartment is right by the entrance of building so that says a lot. The management team go above and beyond for there residents. Super helpful and kind.
Close to where you want to be, apartments are nothing special.
Living at the Edge is a breath of fresh air. The facilities are great and the staff is the most responsive we have ever experienced at an apartment complex. If something breaks or we have issues they typically respond the same day. It is a sheer pleasure to live here!
