A laid-back suburbia on Washington’s coast, West Seattle is known for its sandy beaches, community parks, and charming local businesses. The wooded streets of West Seattle offer residents a variety of modern apartment complexes and cozy single-family homes along safe, walkable streets. West Seattle is located across the Duwamish Waterway from Seattle’s bustling Industrial District. If you’re interested in traveling into Downtown Seattle or neighboring areas, hop onto the West Seattle Bridge and either Highway 99 or Interstate 5 in a short, five-mile commute.
Community parks feel somewhat endless in this tree-lined town. From Lincoln Park’s rocky coastline and hiking and biking trails to Alki Beach Park’s historic sandy shoreline, there’s much to explore in West Seattle’s great outdoors. Enjoy seafood, craft brews, and burgers at one of the many waterfront establishments along Alki Avenue, or venture over to California Avenue near the center of town for even more local businesses.

Property Ratings at The Edge
Car thefts, cars broken into, no security cameras to watch cars on premises, package thefts.
Bed bug bites started not long after sleeping in the apartment. [Never had bed bugs before, didn't recognize the bites.] Two zero-result pest inspections and two months later, I have to catch the bugs myself before the office would do anything. I will never forget when I told the manager Kriste how difficult it’s been working from home knowing I had something in my space biting me and she said, “Well, at least you can work from home right now. A lot of residents can’t right now.” The chosen fumigation process is that the pest company (Paratex) takes everything possibly affected to a special gas room. So when you get it back, you have to wash it all. Shared laundry in the basements and no dishwasher. Got the full treatment and caught a bug 5 days later. A half treatment, fogging without taking stuff out, was done and the bugs returned 17 days later. Second full treatment resulted with new bites a month later. Beginning of July the manager offers to do a full treatment and return all of my belongings to a different unit in a different building. At this point I have five months left on my lease. I’m denied the possibility of breaking my lease early without penalty. I asked management for expense reimbursement for all the laundry, medication/doctor’s visits, hotel stays (for when the pest company had all my stuff) I’d incurred throughout this 6 month experience. After providing a detailed list of expenses totaling $800, I was offered a $200 rent credit. I was told I did not have to stay at a hotel since I could’ve returned to the apartment after so many hours of gassing-- All my bedding and furniture was gone, so their expectation for my welfare seemed low. In my time at this complex, the dumpster shared with Bldg 4 has had 4 mattresses put out. Apparently the apartment below mine also had bed bugs. While the bed bugs did not come back to me after I moved buildings, new tenants were still being moved into Bldg 4. ____tldr; Had bed bugs for 6 horrible months. Had to move buildings. Left as soon as I could (5 months later). Location wise- It’s in a great spot if not for the West Seattle Bridge closure. Being on a hill lends to some nice views. Parking is hit or miss- it’s free, which is nice, but fills up in the afternoon. Mail to the office- make sure you know when a package is coming because the office notifications were at the leisure of the staff. Maintenance is excellent. Big takeaway: Possible bed bugs for long duration. *Would not recommend.*
First of all, LOCATION. 1.5 miles from water taxi, 1 mile from The Junction, and 2.8 miles from Alli Beach. Management is awesome (I've dealt solely with Mary so far and she ROCKS), maintenance is friendly, and one can sign a lease from 2,000 miles away. The building is clearly old but they just installed new everything, so they look nice inside, and the price is FANTASTIC for the area. I dont think ithe description says recycling is included, but it is included everywhere here, and there's a fitness room. There's also a great view of the skyline from Avalon.
