The serene and arboreal community of Stateline-Germantown welcomes potential residents with its variety of rentals, including an abundance of stately houses with spacious front yards and old shade trees. Only about a half an hour's drive from downtown Memphis, this beautiful neighborhood lures residents with its low crime rate, great schools, and hundreds of acres of parkland.
Locals frequent the Winchester Farmer's Market, held from June through October at the town common on Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Wares include baked goods, pasta, produce, honey, and fresh seafood. Nothing beats the sheer fun of Sky Zone Trampoline Park on Distriplex Farms Drive. Afterwards, visit the various fast-food options clustered on East Shelby Drive. Play billiards at Clicks on Malco Way while munching on the house nachos, fried pickles, and potato skins.

Property Ratings at The Ellington at Kirby
I can never get anyone on the phone! I have to stop by to talk to someone. And when I do talk to someone its always through the door. I know we're in a crisis with COVID and all but GEEZ!! Show some PROFESSIONAL!! I've been living in these apartments for 15 years and never been this BAD!! Its time to move!!! Out of the 15 years I can only use 2 eyes on my stove YES I have put in several & several of tickets for the same issue and still nothing been done. I had to fix my toilet myself (smh) and the leak in the master bathroom don't get me started on that........ I can go on on with a lot of issues..

We apologize in the delay in our response but want to take a moment to address your feedback. First, we trust that all of your issues have been resolved but encourage you to reach out to us if they have not. Yes - COVID-19 did create challenges for everyone, however, our offices have re-opened and our maintenance is essentially business as usual now.
I am giving this complex a 1 star. I am doing this because of they have ignored major issues within our unit. We have had electric bills of $350 and $406 the last two months. I called and called and called the first month to try and get ahold of them and no one ever answered the phone and I also sent an email the first month as well. So I went ahead and paid that bill in full. This month I called and they “took a message” and would “call me back” I haven’t heard a thing. I also sent them a detailed message of what MLGW stated the issue was and that the complex had a responsibility of getting that issue resolved. They haven’t responded to me. We are very close to taking LEGAL ACTIONS against this complex for not upholding the city requirements that are in place! I will be writing reviews on all the apartment listing websites as well as their own website. Now, with all that being said this complex is not horrible to live in. It’s quiet, the insides are ehh okay for the price and really spacious! We really have no other complaints other than this and the other maintenance requests we’ve had to put in, in less than a year. There definitely could be some improvements on the insides of these to make them a really really good complex. I hope they fix this issue or we will be taking legal actions and moving out
I can never get anyone on the phone! I have to always stop by for whatever I am needing. Leave a message and you still wont get a response. This is very inconvenient for me since I am working 2 jobs. Maintenance orders takes sometimes up to 2 or 3 weeks depending on what the issue is. White paint does fall on your cars after it rains. Cabinets and appliances need replaced-. look like they just varnished over the grease and crud from the past tenants. My fridge is so old it whistles when it kicks on or sounds like a hurt animal at times. Shower is old and the door barely stays on. People do hang out in the breezeways and are not supposed to. They park where they shouldn't on the sides and its crowded enough trying to get around them. They just seem to be going down more and more.

We're sorry to hear you've had a difficult time reaching us by phone. It is our goal to return calls as quickly as possible so we apologize if that hasn't been the case for you. We would encourage you to use our online maintenance form if you can't reach us immediately by phone. You can access that here: https://www.mrgapartments.com/properties/the-ellington-at-kirby/resident-links/maintenance-request/ It is unusual for a maintenance request to take 2 - 3 weeks. While we prioritize emergency issues, we still try to get to all requests within a few days. If you haven't done so already, please contact our office so that we can address any issues with your shower door and refrigerator. We have made a number of improvements to the property over the last few years, including re-painting the carports fairly recently.
My family and I stayed here for 4 years. The first few months were ok, then the gradual decline in care and service began! 1. For three summers, our AC was garbage! Anytime the outside temperature rose above 80 degrees, our apartment turned into a sauna! We CONSTANTLY had to call maintenance to see about the AC...all to no avail. If you decide on staying in a 2-bed room layout, just know that your AC more than likely WON'T properly cool your apartment during the summer months. 2. The white paint leakage from the covered parking got on my wife and I's last nerves!!! They never proposed a solution to this issue. The point of having covered parking is to PROTECT YOUR FREAKING CAR FROM THE RAIN!!! But , every time it rained, WE COULDN'T PARK UNDER THE COVERED PARKING FOR FEAR OF HAVING WHITE PAINT DROPS ALL OVER OUR VEHICLE!!! Be prepared for that if you decide to rent there. 3. The layouts are severely in need of cosmetic upgrades! The cabinets, closets, and trims look like something from the 70's...too old with no modern attraction whatsoever. 4. The leasing office and management over my time there was ok. Very nice people...until we put in our vacate notice in February 2017. After move out, I asked them TWICE about my deposit and if I would get it back, with no legit answer. All I got was, "we'll examine the apartment and give you a call about it." STILL WAITING ON THAT PHONE CALL having moved out two months ago! Screw it, you can keep the money! I'm sure they have some new tenants in my old apartment by now. Good luck trying to stay cooled in that HOT BOX! I hope they have a white vehicle so that the PAINT DROPS from the covered parking don't show!

First, we thank you for having been a resident at the Ellington for four years. It takes a few weeks to inspect vacated apartments and we trust that you ended up receiving any refund you were due. We acknowledge that the Ellington is an older property but we strive to keep everything neat and clean and in proper working order. There is no question that we sometimes have extremely hot weather in the summer but it should be an exception for the AC not to properly cool a two-bedroom apartment. Residents at all MRG properties receive surveys on a regular basis and the Ellington has among the highest scores so we are truly sorry you did not end up having a great experience.
