Property Ratings at The Ellington
The apartments were ok until Indio management took over. Now they don't fix anything in a timely manner when ever you need something fixed. I have had a leak for over 2 months that they still have not came to fix! This is not the first time they do something like this. They also lie that they have completed the work order! Do not move in here!
Keshia the assistant manger and her leasing agent always go above and beyond for helping me with anything I’m always needing. The community is very well maintained and clean. Very good customer / great at getting the work order for maintenance to come out and fix. I love the property and she always good with answering all of your questions. Always smiling and talking with the residents whenever I see her. Very good at what she do. I hope she continue with everything she does and kept delivering that great customer service

I have lived at 98Fifty since 2013 and it's been a rough ride...until now. I'm glad I stayed because the new staff knows how to manage this property...the right way. They are kind, concerned, honest and efficient. For over one year, all I heard was "No...no...no..." when I asked to replace my broken, 30-year-old dishwasher. Ms. Robin ordered a new dishwasher and it was installed right away and my A/C was serviced and is now cold again. Ms. Gabriela always followed up with me after each repair to be sure all went well. Thank you, 98Fifty staff, for providing excellent service and management. Thank you, CityGate, for hiring this staff. 98Fifty just might be my new "forever home."

Moved here for a new job, and 98fifity is in great proximity to everywhere I need to go! Plus compared to the other places I looked at you can't beat the price.

Gonna get straight to the point. Horrible neighborhood. Gated community that is never actuallly gated. Old, run down property. Horrible management. Staff is not there to help you. Doesn’t feel like home, Feels like a prison. Money hungry companie. Outdated appliances. Cheap cabinets. Ancient windows. Old, inefficient appliances, especially a/c- heater. Apartments are designed to break down. Increased fees with 0 explanation. Workers scheduled at 6-7am on weekends, you’ll never sleep in here. Gunshots every weekend are heard. Avoid making work orders. Work orders marked complete even though no one has stepped foot in apt. Make excuses for issues and elongate the process. NO PARKING. Prices keep increasing even though renovations are on the cheap end. Cameras don’t work. COCKROACHS and PEST ALWAYS. Don’t accommodate residents. Treated like pest instead of residents. Alot of Hookers and drug dealers live here. Patrol officers don’t actually do patrol work. Break ins and vandalism happen here. Pool never gets cleaned. Dog parks full of dogshit. Garbage always overflowing. Trash all over the complex. Children always breaking things.

Ok so my poor daughter lives in these apartments! The outside and inside look pretty decent but me and her father come to visit and honestly her apartment feels like a sauna!!! Everytime I’ve visited it’s hot I mean I’m sweating from the moment I sit down until I leave. It’s sad when you’re in APARTMENTS and you have to go purchase a window ac unit just so your child won’t die from heat exhaustion! They’ve supposedly came into the house several times and said it was fine!! Are you kidding me the thermostat reads 83 degrees everyday!!!!!! Even the manager has told my daughter that it’s fine. Oh and the maintenance supervisor never comes to her house when he’s told too! It shouldn’t be ANY reason that a electricity bill is $160 for a small one bedroom apartment! Her ac NEVER turns off and NEVER cools. I’ve gotten in touch with the city of Dallas code compliance and as of today have formally filed a complaint! The ac unit itself I’ve looked at it and it’s old and rickety! It needs to be replaced but God knows they’re not going to do it but just keep lying to my daughter! She moved in these apartments in May and this entire time her ac never turns off and has NEVER cooled the entire apartment and hasn’t been replaced after one maintenance guy said he’s going to tell his supervisor to replace it. My daughter told me that was a month ago! Still nothing!!!! Hopefully after they get fined for not fixing this problem they’ll finally fix it! DON’T MOVE HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CHILDREN OR YOURSELF ESPECIALLY DURING TEXAS SUMMER HEAT! My daughter would rather sit and sweat than receive some repercussions for wanting a decent apartment! Ridiculous you’ve been warned!

This is very affordable compared to other apartments nearby. This location is nice because my kids are able to walk to school. It also has a pool and playground area.

I met a lady Breana, i guess she's a leasing agent specialist at the 98fifty. She really is a specialist in leasing apartments. Communication was excellent. she made me feel at home the very first day i stepped into their leasing office. i took the apartment because of her good relationship skill.

Thank you so much for your amazing review, we are thrilled to know that you had a great experience with our leasing staff and that finalized your decision to live at 98Fifty. We love having residents like you! If you ever need anything please do not hesitate to reach out. Have an amazing day!
Moving here has been one on the worst experiences I've had as a renter. Since I moved here in Oct 2016 there has been issue after issue. The first night I moved in, there was gunshots. Not a good look for the 1st night. After that I had my moped stolen. It was parked next to the leasing office inside the gate and no cameras so zero responsibility on their part. By the time spring 2017 comes around you guys know how the Texas weather is and how hot it can get. My AC unit went out and it took them over 2 MONTHS to get someone out to fix it. I was issued 1 mail key and lost it, went to management to get another and THEY had no keys in their possession to make a copy. How do they not have the keys??? Took them over a week to get them to me. As of recent though, there has been theft of property from the laundry room, and not just any theft - A FREAKING PANTIE THIEF! And not just one or two pairs but OVER 12 PAIRS! If any females are reading this you know what an invasion of privacy this is and how unsafe this can make you feel. We brought our concern up to management and their resolution to the problem was - you can get reimbursed by renters insurance. If you have pets - Dogs in particular, its hard to walk them anywhere without stepping in poop. No one picks up after their pets and maintenance ignores it. The dumpster are always full and overflowing. The sprinklers are constantly on so its forever muddy. The kids are unruly with ZERO adult supervision and they destroy whatever renovation that has been done outside. All in all, the year and a half that was spent here has been a horror show. If your even remotely thinking about living here - Don't let the "New Renovation!" & " New Management! fool you.

Leigh, we understand that you and your roommate have been in direct communication with our new manager Deborah Kelderman over the last few days discussing the issues that you are experiencing. We can assure you that we are taking both reviews very seriously and those details will be handled accordingly. In the future, if you see any children unsupervised, residents not picking up after their pets or anything abnormal that you call the leasing office or email Ms. Kelderman directly and she will look into it. As far as any work orders please continue to follow the resident portal process when submitting them so we can handle them as they come in. Lastly we did look into the laundry room issue you had and per our security company during the time you stated there were no abnormal activity, if you have a different period of time please let the leasing office know so we can research it in more details. We do appreciate you choosing us and look forward to working with you in the future. Thank you and have a great day!
I am a current resident at this complex and it is not worth the headache. I moved in May and I have complained since my move in about the ac not cooling my apartment off and it is now September. I have had management and maintenance enter my apartment without my consent and when I try to reach "corporate" there is no response and no return call to my voice mail. The maintenance seems to be well intentioned but they basically are slapping temporary fixes on major issues within my apartment. It was an easy move in process but the apartments are dated and not well maintained. I will be moving once my lease is up. I wouldn't recommend this complex.
