Property Ratings at The Elms at Falls Run
Experienced a warm and pleasant conversation with Isaiah, who patiently & thoroughly answered all of my questions about the property…the next day I toured and then met with Darius, who was exceptionally welcoming and warm. He showed me a few of the available units - all were well-maintained and the 3bdrm is nice n spacious… the community is very peaceful and is in a great location.
So thankful for Darius and De'Asia - they took care of me starting the minute I walked onto the property - what a great place to call home
Exceptional team in the leasing office. Ebenezer & Drew were so helpful in assisting me w a short tem place to live due to the Ellicott City flooding. I was extremely over whelmed w all of this and the this team was great to work with - kind, caring & responsive! They made a very stressful situation less stressful. The neighborhood is quiet and I felt safe. My neighbor was also great! The club house and the pool are fantastic - a great to place to live. Enjoy!!!
I love this property it has a tennis court and nice pool area, it has two dog parks which you don't see very many any where else. The tree cover and privacy is very nice not to mention how quiet it is here. The office and maintenance staff is very polite and well knowledge . There are many store and places to eat plus its very close to major highways which makes living here amazing.
I have lived here many years and until recently I was unhappy. Since the new company took over I have seen a major improvement in the property and the employees that work here. My work orders are now finally getting done in a timely manner. When I have a question someone is always there to answer it unlike the previous office regime . I look forward to continue my stay at the elms of falls run .
I have toured many places in Columbia but this staff was so helpful and was a pleasure to work with . I look forward to living at this beautiful property and having this great staff help me with any thing that I may need .
I recently moved into Ashton Woods Apartments. From the moment I moved into my new apartment there were multiple issues including: no heat or hot water, the entryway floor was ripped up, the toilet in the master bathroom was leaking and the mirror was cracked, the garbage disposal was not working, the sliding glass door would not latch, there was a large crack on the fireplace floor, and some of the interior doors were painted over dust and dirt. I compiled a list and submitted these request on the resident network website as well as speaking with the property manager. It took two days for someone to come out to fix the heat and the hot water; at that time they did not fix any of the other requests. I then called the leasing office to explain that the other maintenance requests had not been addressed. It took about ten days before someone came out to fix the sliding glass door and the garbage disposal. I proceeded to submit the maintenance requests that still have not been addressed online and wrote an email to the leasing office. I received a call the following day from Amara who essentially gave me the run around. We set up a time for the contractor to come out and fix the flooring. I continued to submit the maintenance requests since they had been closed out without being repaired. Next my kitchen sink backs up, the garbage disposal does not work, and the hot water goes out. I went on to the residential network to submit these requests and made sure to put them in as an emergency and clicked the box that asks if this is an emergency; no one came out that weekend. On Monday morning I went to the leasing office and explained the situation to Amara. She stated that maintenance does not see these requests and I must call if it is an emergency. Why have emergency options online if maintenance does not see it? She then suggested that we do a walk through together with the maintenance manager. We agreed that we would meet at 3 PM to do this walk through. She insured me that someone would be by shortly to fix the hot water and the kitchen sink. Come 3 PM no one came out to fix these issues. I went to the leasing office once again to meet for our walk through. When I arrived, I was asked if we could reschedule since the maintenance manager was MIA. I stated that I wanted to use my 30 day guarantee and nullify my lease. The staff at Ashton Woods Apartments is one of the most unprofessional crew that I have ever encountered.
First, the positive: The Ashton Woods complex is nestled in a quiet, wooded area, with fairly easy driving access to Baltimore, Ft. Meade, D.C. and Annapolis, and lots of grocery/shopping areas within just a few miles. In general, units have good sized closets, full-sized W/D, dishwasher, disposal, and microwave, and an open kitchen, which helps the main living area feel very spacious. Some units also have a fireplace, which can be a nice addition in the winter months! As for the negative: Office staff are pleasant but usually clueless, and repair staff seem to be non-existent (I have had a leaky disposal and a shower that screams bloody murder when you turn it on, both reported on day 1, never fixed.) To be fair, my air vents were spewing black soot when I first moved in, and once reported, the ducts were very promptly cleaned, so severe issues do generate a response in my experience, but minor to mid-size issues go ignored. Location-wise, while there's lots of shopping and some food, don't plan on walking anywhere, traffic moves fast and sidewalks disappear without warning...it's a challenge even to go for a run in the immediate area. The buildings and units are showing signs of wear, Particularly the balconies. In general the complex does not feel looked-after: rotted hoses at the car wash station, fencing torn up around the tennis court, a nice but small pool that looks like it hasn't been cleaned since being filled for the summer. All that said, the complex recently came under new management, so perhaps the negatives will improve. But for now at least, you can find better for the price in the area.
