The Emery, located at South Waterfront in Portland, provides clean, tidy and well maintained apartments in a safe environment. The fully functional kitchen, washing machine, dryer and A/C is a definite plus. The management team is super friendly and always there to help or just around for a short chat. It is definitely a plus having them onsite.

I have lived here for two years and it is a great place to live. I have experienced quiet and respectful neighbors, responsive and friendly management and staff alike, and I work at OHSU so of course it is so great to walk down the street to work. Great walking opportunities right out our front door, such great access to mass transit that I gave my car to my son to use as I rarely need one. Restaurants, shops, and a nearby park with fun events. I have zero complaints. It's all good.

Nobody ever picks up the phone. Ive called multiple times with little success. Better off emailing. Good location but missing amenities such as gym that you would expect with the price point. Room doors are not able to be locked from the outside leaving you vulnerable to your roommate’s good graces. Trash is always overloaded or stuck. Don't live near the elevator as the trash smell will invade your living quarters. Overall, place is okay if you're there for short term and work at OHSU, otherwise you can find better for your money.

Excellent location! Pricing is very reasonable. The staff here makes all the difference. I chevked out other buildings in the area and their staff CV ould care less about the property and residents. Not here, though. Staff cares and it shows with the property and when dealing with residents.
We love the Emery! There aren't enough good things I can say about this place. The apartments are lovely and the people who maintain them and manage them are even better. Maintenance has always been prompt and extremely friendly, Lesley (building manager) is always available and every bit as kind, and all of the people who work the shops and restaurants are genuinely wonderful people. I can't recommend living here enough and we will definitely be staying for the foreseeable future!

I have lived at the Emery for nearly two years in both a one bedroom and two bedroom apartment. The staff go above and beyond to get to know all of the residents, including the numerous animal residents, and make this place feel like home. Service issues are always addressed right away. The location is incredibly convenient, especially if you are an employee or student at OHSU, as the tram is just across the street. It is also the perfect location for a variety of food options, including restaurants, cafes and the numerous food carts. If you need a gym, March Wellness is also just across the street. SouthPaw Pet Shop is the perfect addition for such a pet friendly apartment complex. One additional feature I love about the Emery is the guest suite (with a full kitchen), that friends and family can rent for a very reasonable price (cheaper than any of the nearby hotels and much nicer!). Great place to call home.

We have been at the Emery for over six weeks now and absolutely love the place. The shipyard across the street keeps things industrial and the "ship-themed" building is so different. It is definitely not a boring box. We love waking up to the OHSU tram, Mt. Hood, Mt. St. Helens, and river views. We can grab coffee downstairs or walk our dog across the street to the food cart pod and eat at the outdoor picnic tables. (Thai cart is amazing.) Melissa, Lesley and Pete have gone above and beyond what we had ever expected for an apartment management team and have been very accommodating. We recommend this place to our friends on a regular basis.

I moved in about 6 months ago when the new manager took over and the leasing agent changed. I could not be happier. All the staff in the office and the maintenance man are all very friendly and efficient. The South Waterfront has some very exciting future plans that make me never want to move. There are new restaurants at the property that are awesome and there is a healthy food place coming too! My dog and I feel very welcome at the property which was very important to me! The parking could be a bit closer to the building but I know it will not be like this forever. I would recommend this to family and friends!

The location of the Emery is perfect for my work. I den walk to work, walk to food, hop on the street car or bus to get through Portland, or drive outside of Portland. All the new food in the area has made it so much better especially when I have friends over. The grocery store being built in the future is definitely worth waiting for. My pets are welcome and the office girls love them. The new girls in the office are so friendly and professional. Maintenance always gets my work order done right away and is super knowledgeable. I just renewed for another year and have no plans on leaving!

The Emery is a great place if you are looking for something that you bike anywhere from. It's right on the streetcar line and close to the Tilikum bridge for great walking and biking. The apartments are small, but are the best priced in the area. Pros * Fantastic Location - in the South Waterfront close to all types of public transit and a 5 min drive from downtown * Awesome Staff - The management & staff are very friendly and seem to have a genuine interest in interacting with the tenants * Price - While the price is high compared to other areas, it is the most affordable building in the South Waterfront. * Convenience - There are 2 restaurants & a juice bar in the bottom of the building, food carts across the street, and an outdoor beer garden too! Cons * Parking - At $125/month you get 1 space that is across the street. It is in a gated/fob accessible lot that can be a pain when it's raining. * Small Units - the building is the most affordable in the area, you also get less space. Most of the units are under 600 sq ft and those are 1 bedrooms. * Amenities - If you need to have a pool or gym then this will be an issue for you. The building does have some nice amenities (resident lounge, bike storage, etc) however. * Grocery Shopping - Is an issue for all the buildings in the South Waterfront. There isn't a convenient grocery store. The closest options are about a 10 min drive or more. There is an Urban Market and a weekly farmers market in the neighborhood that are great, but not very affordable for staples.
Very nice staff and great location. It is close to 2 street car stations. One of the stations have both green line and blue lines, which give convenient access to downtown. The room is nice with silver appliances, wood floor (my room), and clean bathroom. I have no complaints regarding the room size and overall cleanness. The downside is that the parking is not garage but outside and there is no gym. The price was a little lower than other apartments in the area before when I started looking about 4 months ago, but now they are about the same. The neighborhood seems pretty nice and safe.
These are perfect apartments if you are looking for a new building in a great spot! I bike into downtown Portland for work every day and the location of these apartments is absolutely ideal! Also, the leasing staff at the apartments are super friendly and fun to talk to! The finishings in the apartment are modern but cheap. The only downside to these apartments is how expensive they are. They are not luxury apartments but have a price that might indicate that. But I think it is worth the price for the location combined with a new building.
