Property Ratings at The Enclave
Just moved out of The Enclave I did not have the best experience living here. First, management were never helpful; they were always rude whenever I addressed them with issues. Every time I reached out to either one for assistance, I was always met with resistance. Whenever I sent them emails they wouldn't reply or call me back. The worst people in management were the building manager Sylva and the Carlo Inc manager Valeen. Sylva is never friendly and when you approach her with a question, she is never in her office, or if she is, it felt like she just wants you to hurry up and leave. The building amenities were always breaking. The gates to the parking garage were often left open by the other residents, allowing many of the homeless people who live nearby to enter. Because of the gates left open, there are many car break-ins and car theft, which management did nothing about. I went to put some recycling in the trash room (inside the parking garage) and found a pile of human feces on the floor. Another time I went to the recycling room and found the security camera had been covered. Before you move out, the Carlo Inc, Manager Valeen will schedule a time to stop by your unit to inspect it. When I had my inspection, she said the only thing she was going to charge me for was for my sink (I had a chip in it) and for cleaning. I explained to her that I had put in a maintenance request for the chip in the sink and when the maintenance people came, they just painted over it, not fixing it at all. Valeen then says I still have to pay for a brand new sink because it wasn't like that when I moved in. The time to have fixed the sink was when I was a resident and put in my initial request form, not when I am moving out. Management knew that I needed a new sink and instead of Carlo Inc paying to replace it, they decided that they would just take it out of my security deposit when I moved out to save money. After fighting with Valeen and explaining to her why I didn't want to pay for the sink, she waived the fee but said she was still going to charge me to clean my apartment. Valeen explained that all residents get charged for cleaning when they move out. Carlo Inc just wants to find ways to keep your money. My biggest drawback from recommending this apartment (or any property owned by Carlo Inc) to anyone was because of how rude and inconsiderate the staff is.
The Enclave Apartments is definitely Godsend. I recently moved to LA and was trying to find a place to live. After being strung along by multiple apartment managers throughout the city, I came across Slyva at The Enclave. Sylva was an absolute sweetheart. She made me forget about all the frustration that came with apartment hunting. I cannot emphasize enough how great of an apartment manager she is. She is extremely friendly and professional while still adding her personal touch and charm. The complex is quiet, clean, and safe. You need a key to get almost anywhere. The only amenities available are a small spa in the middle of the courtyard and a tiny gym. I don't mind the lack of amenities because Slyva makes up for it. The building is easily accessible as it is located a few blocks from the 170, 134, and the 101 freeways. The Redline at Universal City Station is located half a mile away. Studio City itself is relatively safe with a lot of young working professionals living in the area. There is a 24 hour Ralph's right behind the complex on the next street. If you are looking for a night out or just a good time, it is located behind Ventura Boulevard and is 5 minutes away from the NoHo Arts District. Also, Universal Studios is literally 1 mile away. This apartment and Sylva are definitely something you should check out.
