So I left a review a while back and put the wrong name for one of the leasing office employees so first thing I'll do is give Mr. George his flowers. He along with the rest of the leasing office team are really nice people and go out of their way to assist when they can. For example, just recently me and my girlfriend went out of the country and somehow our door was wide open while we were gone. (to many variables to point blame at so bottomline it's my fault) They went out of their way to get in touch with us because they knew we were not in town. I'm unable to express in words my appreciation for this since we have a cat and 20+ what if thoughts were scrolling through our minds. Lastly, I'll shout out the neighborhood as well. I don't talk to the other tenants unless it's situational like walking our dog or I go to an event hosted at the leasing office. One of the neighbors that walks their dog noticed our door was wide open and got concerned when they yelled in the apartment and didn't get an answer. They knew we had a cat(she sleeps in the window so everyone can see her) and called security concerned for our home. I can't say for certain that this level of concern from my neighbors in combination from the leasing office would have been taken as serious if I was living anywhere else but I'm greatful that it worked out here.

In the short three months we have lived here, our experience has been less than savory for what is supposed to be a luxury community. Prepare for a headache because despite the urgency of any submitted repair requests, it likely will not be completed until months later. We currently have mold in our apartment that still has not been properly addressed for what’s going on a month after being initially reported. The location of the complex is it’s only saving grace. This has been an incredibly disappointing renting experience especially because we were looking forward to enjoying our time in this community. For as much money as residents pay in this complex, we should not have to deal with unanswered repair requests, a lack of transparency & honesty from the staff, and lackadaisical effort to resolve resident issues. Incredibly disappointing. 10 out of 10 would not recommend!

I am writing as many reviews as I can to warn others so they don't have to got through what I am currently going through. I have been in contact with The Encore for weeks about moving on December 14th into an apartment I was approved for. I have had to go to the leasing office 3 times to even get an answer from these people and when I do it's BULL. Dec. 10th, 6:34 PM I get a call from an agent telling me my apartment won't be ready until the end of the week and she won't have an answer on if I have an apartment at all until Dec. 13th. I work in property management and this is inexcusable. I gave my current place 60 days notice as directed and now I don't have a place to stay after the 14th and have to scramble to try and find one.

The location is great and the shuttle van is excellent. That is about all I can say good about the apartment complex. You can expect management to change every 8-12 months, maintenance extremely poor, at best, and no access to management. Check other sites to verify my statements. If you move here, especially military, be sure to get every promise made to you in writing and stay on top of all maintenance repairs. For example, my HVAC was out from January- May. Other people were having the same problem and management offered electric heaters and fans to compensate renters. This is/ was ridiculous. Whoever the property manager is when you sign the lease will it be hear when you vacate. The Encore apartment complex is “Terrible”.

PROS: The grounds are pretty nice and they have nice areas for your dogs to enjoy. The gym is pretty nice as well. CONS: They do not care about the residents here. It has been 6 weeks, multiple tickets, multiple correspondence with corporate, and no one has even come to look at my why my washer machine is not working. Now the air conditioning is not working. Not to mention all the items I marked as not working on my move-in inspection sheet that they have not fixed either. These are not luxury apartments. Please save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere. Also depending on what building you are in, parking can be an issue. The floors are thin so you will here just about every step your neighbors take. Management is completely unresponsive.

Overall, this is a good building to reside in. I have no real issues to comment on. About the only time I need to contact community management is for a repair and have always been satisfied with the quality and timeliness of the services provided.
Im very happy at Ashlown apartments .Studio apartment size is pretty good compared to most . Fresh paint , new rugs ,stainless appliances, very up to date except no up to date counter tops, most of all fair price. Maintenance are on top of things responds within 24 hours. Everyone on staff super friendly. Hardly hear any noise from other tenants. Take care of the grounds more. Yes its a very nice place to live in.

Living here was my first apartment experience. It allowed me to learn about being on time with bills. being responsible for Laundry, Cooking, Cleanning, Taking out the trash, and Vacuming.. I feel as if I am a better person as a result of living here. It continues to be a great experience.

Ashlawn Apts., is in goal of simplified life style to meet the requirements of a busy life style for the mayority of residents, this is the situation. The location offers great accessibility to different areas of interest for the community. The staff is professional and nice ready to assist. The units offer a nice layout of comfort. Nice view with safety in mind accomplished through the electronics plus the patrolling of courtesy. The layout of services in general is of easy access for deliveries, mail, laundry, all under one roof.
It is convenient and easy for me and my family to work with the staff at Ashlawn regarding maintenance and various matters, because of the prompt, courteous, expert services we have here. Especially in considering the friendliness of the staff. Keep up the good work.

If you are interested in the ashlawn at southern towers let me inform you about the things they will try and hide from you or wont tell you. If you have a dog get ready to be treated like a second class citizen. People will run from you and refuse to share elevators with you, not to mention all the dirty looks you will get. This community does not embrace dogs. Second there is roaches a lot of them. Next no proper ventilation in the bathroom or kitchen so if you plan to cook just know your house will get Smokey. Next the wood floor is chipping and you will be sweeping bits of it everyday, lets not forget the broken windows and the fact that there is no ac because only hot air blows out the severely outdated vents. I would not recommend this place to my friends. Also it is impossible to get a straight answer from one person you have to call a bunch of different numbers to get an answer but dont hold your breath chances are no one is in their office. Thank you for making this a learning experience I will be much smarter next time.

Ashlawn is an older apartment complex that has a nice view of the highways surrounding it. There are a lot of people with children who live here and it feels safe walking around at night. The only down-side is a bug problem but it doesnt last long.

Accebility and frirndly mangement
Utilities are included which is great. Several different types of floor plans make it an ideal place to live for single people or couples or even families.
The staff and management has been great throughout my moving experience. The maintenance team has been prompt and accurate. I enjoy my apartment and excited to enjoy the outside amenities.
My experience has been wonderful. Everybody is so helpful and willing to make sure your ok. The building is clean inside and out. I love my apartment! Thank you to the whole team.

If I could leave no stars, I would. This place doesn't deserve any stars for its poor customer service and business practices. My husband and I went to The Encore Apartments at 2215 N Pickett Street, Alexandria, VA 22304 to tour the premises, look at apartment options, and seek out additional information, such as amenities. Derek Champion was the individual who assisted us. He showed us a couple apartments with the floor plans we were interested in. One was in the process of being cleaned/renovated after a move-out, and the other was a model apartment. He even showed us around the Club House, and what The Encore has to offer. We were very impressed and interested in being a part of this community. We discussed amenities, fees and the lease protect deposit. A couple days later my husband and Derek had a conversation about the previously discussed amenities, fees, and lease protect deposit. Derek mentioned a different price on the monthly rental, and that he would waive certain fees. We agreed, paid the lease protect deposit, and waited for the lease to be sent to us to approve and sign. When we received the lease, it was completely different than what was just verbally agreed upon. We refused to sign the lease, until it was corrected to reflect what was verbally agreed upon between my husband and Derek. Derek then said he couldn’t make changes, and that we would have to wait until a manager was available to discuss the circumstance and the refund of our lease protect deposit. My husband and I have been trying to reach the manager of this location, with no luck. We have left multiple messages at this location, as well as their main hub in Utah. Everyone we speak to says they will take our message and make sure it gets addressed, however, no one has called us back to further discuss this issue. The Encore Apartments still has our lease protect deposit (which is not a hold deposit) and a lease not agreed upon that they were hoping we’d sign and not question. No one at The Encore wants to resolve this issue, and therefore, I am having to leave multiple messages with no response or further action. We aren't current or future tenants, and this is the customer service we get. I don't recommend this place to my worst enemy.

The leasing office here may seem nice but it's a front. All they are after is your money. I was lied to 5 times and counting about my lease and my rent. They are so disorganized and never seem to know what I am talking about when I try to come in with a question or concern. No one wants to take responsibility. The apartment itself is decent besides the bugs. The maintenance people are usually pretty quick and kind. The best part about this place was the shuttle driver. I would not recommend this place to a friend, the leasing office and management is just not worth the headache and money.

After speaking to 8 different call center staff, management and being locked out for 3 hours. I am Beyond pissed with you guys! There is NO reason my husband, small children and I should have been locked out for 3 hrs with 2 of your employee's living on the property. We have been living at "The Encore" about 8 months. From day one we have received the absolute WORST customer service! I have complained but that was pointless because nothing has changed and it has only gotten worst. Also the staff frequently changes on a month to month bases so when speaking to new staff about anything is like shining your head lights on a deer at night! The dysfunction of the property management is horrible considering the price that you pay for rent! I would NOT recommend anyone to live here!
