San Antonio blends a rich heritage with modern innovation, resulting in a metropolis teeming with true Texan heart. San Antonio’s distinctive environment reflects centuries of style and a diverse array of culture, which is best exemplified in the La Villita Historic Arts Village. The Alamo may be the most renowned structure in the city, but there are plenty of magnificent historical buildings to see—from the Emily Morgan Hotel to the Meyer Halff House.
Stretched along the San Antonio River is the famous River Walk, where residents and visitors alike can walk or bike from the San Antonio Zoo to the Witte Museum, the historic Majestic Theatre, the Shops at Rivercenter, the Missions of San Antonio and back again.
The city and the surrounding region offer endless opportunities for exploration.

Property Ratings at The Escapade
Horrible staff they told us they lost our original lease and it was never pushed through and said we are now month to month to which we were okay with so we can move whenever but now that we want to move they *magically* found our lease and somehow we are on a 12 month until October we never signed up for that one (our original lease ended in August) it’s giving scam. Do not live here stay away. That is just the cherry on top plus our car has been stolen twice if you go right now to the apartment complex even the front office was broken into we want out and they are holding us here I have to leave bad reviews on multiple sites cause no one responds to emails when I send them if we cannot get out we will call corporate

These apartments are riddled with roaches. When I first moved in it took a month to get my mail key and my storage lock changed. The mail area is always a mess everyone's mail box is open and mail is all over the floor. I've found some of my bills just scattered. The laundry room are always messy and don't work properly. The apartment it self is not super bad but when things break it takes maintenance a while to come and check out the problem but doesn't fix it properly. For the price of these apartments I wouldn't recommend anyone live here.
This is the fifth time in the past month that I have not had Hot water. Last time it took them almost 5 days to fix it. Many people have no working air conditioner. New management does not care about fixing things. The carpet is loose at the top step of my stairs. I reported it over two weeks ago. They sent two people to look at it and it’s never been fixed. Yes, I have fallen down the stairs because of it. They will take your money but they will not make necessary repairs. These apartments are not habitable in anyway shape or form. Run.

We are disappointed to see these claims as they do not accurately portray the situation at hand and do not paint our team in an accurate light. Our team cares deeply for our residents and has made multiple attempts to complete your maintenance requests. If you would like to further discuss this, or if you have any questions, please reach out to us directly. Thank you.
Rent was charged 4 times to my account and no one has done anything to fix it. Spoke with whole front office and nobody helps out. Terrible customer service skills wouldn’t live here at all. 3900 dollars was charged to my account and have yet to receive it back.
Been staying at couple of different apartments throughout my military career and college life, by far this is the best customer service I've ever had. Alyssa was the front desk person that has been helping me through the process, as well as following up with many different maintenance issues with my apartment unit (she is definitely deserves a pay bump). I also have a Large German Shepherd and they are very accommodating with breeds and size. Great value for what I am getting!

As always, if there is anything we can do to assist you further, please do not hesitate to contact us.
They were just bought by a new management company. They don’t fix anything, they are very rude. You can’t get to the mailbox without stepping in dog poop. People are constantly breaking into vehicles. And, they have dramatically increase the rent to run off longtime tenants. Before considering this place, walk around the complex. You will see that there are tons of empty units. There is a reason. Avoid this place.

We are working hard to create a 5-star community for our residents to call home so we are disappointed that your experience has not met these standards. Our team would like to talk more about this as we are always looking for ways to improve our resident's experiences. Please give us a call or stop by our office. Thanks and we look forward to speaking with you soon.
During my time in these apartments I have had 4 issues with my heater and or AC going out the last one has now lasted 4 weeks and they still have not fixed it. This combined with the infestation of bugs when I moved in and the blackmold growing in the vents I was forced to leave for my families safety. Now that I have to move and my wife had to go and get our stuff they will not give her my mail and also still have not done anything that I asked them to fix over a month ago. The apartments are not livable the staff refuses to work with me to make it possible to get my own mail and I'm coming to the conclusion I may have to call a lawyer just to get my own mail and this craptastic apartment fixed.

Due to the nature of your concerns, we feel it would be best if you reach out to a team member. When you are able, please give our office a call to discuss this further.
This place and the people in the front office, KIM and SYLVIA are rude. Once I moved out, they completely made up fees and refused to give me my security deposit back and completely made up a reason to bill me for other "expenses" as well. Do not do what I did and not read the reviews or BELIEVE the reviews. The apartments themselves are old and do not include microwaves or washer and dryers in the units. Plus, bugs are an issue, not just roaches but other weird looking bugs that I've never seen nor have seen since leaving there.

We are sorry to see that you feel this way about our staff, as they would never conduct business in that way and take great pride in their ability to provide transparent service and information. If you have any discrepancies you wish to discuss please reach out to a team member when you are able.
First off I want to say this review does not reflect the staff. They are great and always attentive. I did have some issues with maintenance request and them not getting done after talking to the staff. My main issues are with the apartments themselves. From the day I moved in until the day I left there was always something. Between losing hot water every other week and the unstable stairs to my apartment I was over it real quick. The stick on floor was subpar at best and came up very easily. The buildings are old and starting to shift which cause my door not to stay closed. Probably one of my minor issues was paying for the washer and dryer in a facility that always was dirty and the washers leaked. To be honest the buildings are very old and the “updates” are not very good. The one bedroom space was decent, but that was about it.

While we are pleased to see that you were happy with the services you received from our staff, we are disappointed that you were unhappy with your home. We take great pride in our community and want to be sure that our residents can fully enjoy themselves. We will be sure to look into what we can do to improve our community going forward, and welcome you to share any ideas you may have. Thank you.
Let me start off by saying I reserved my apartment 4 weeks prior to showing up, and they knew the day I was coming to make sure everything was okay. On the day of move in, I walked into the office and Kim knew I was coming and she was ready. She handed me the apartment keys, told me where it was and off I went. There was no information on anything else or even a walk to the apartment as I’d never seen them before. Walking up to the apartment, the walkway was dirty but nothing a good scrubbing wouldn’t fix. The grounds themselves are nice, the landscaping and pools are great. When we opened the door, it smelt like my grandparents house with the cigarette smell. It was immediately a turn off and I wanted to run then. The floors were covered with trash, dirt and debris from ‘resurfacing’ the flooring that can’t be resurfaced due to the type of flooring. The kitchen... whoever inspected this needs to be fired. The refrigerator was one of the grossest I’ve seen in my life. The amount of hair, liquid stains and cheese in the fridge was disturbing. The oven and dishwasher weren’t as bad, but definitely not clean at all. (I spent two hours cleaning just the fridge). The bathroom... well, around the toilet I have no idea what was going on. The amount of stuff and the flooring doesn’t even go all the way to it. The tub was gross and it didn’t even have a shower head. I had to deep clean the bathroom in order to use it and not feel dirtier after showering than before. The bedroom, closet and living room floors were all dirt filled, I didn’t take my shoes off inside as it still feels gross. When I told the leasing office, Kim went and checked the unit, prior to cleaning anything. She looked at everything and said a cleaning crew would be in the following morning. It was 11am, plenty of time to have someone come through if they were worried about it. She said that she walked through the unit Saturday and the crew must of messed it up. Well, they could of done the dust, the paint and the light fixture but the fridge, oven, dishwasher, tub, toilet and mold in the HVAC area just appeared as well... It is not 115 the following day and they said the cleaning lady was running late. If I was able to, I would of packed my stuff up and found another apartment. This was not worth it. I’ve been all over the world, stayed in hostels, hotels, apartments and this is by far the worst yet. Do. Not. Rent. Here. Do yourself a favour.

When we came to check out the apartment complex and got a tour everything looked good but after move in we realized a couple things with the apartment we got like a loooott of dog hair on the carpet on our stairs, dirty floors, dead roaches, really bad paint job, and a lot of cracks on the walls.. about a month after move in our SUV was stolen from the parking lot. We asked around with some neighbors to see if they maybe saw something and they didn’t but some of them have had problems before like broken car windows, stolen tires, and stolen vehicles from the same parking lot. This is a gated community but that doesn’t seem to help. The parking lot and most walkways to apartments are very dark at night. Hot water is ALWAYS going out. No notice they just put a piece of paper by your door after the fact ?? Also if u get a unit with a chimney be prepared to get bugs in your apartment.
I moved here in 2017 & none of the office staff remain. Last year the "old crew" was replaced by the "new crew" who were to restore the complex to former glory -- that "new crew" has been replaced by a new "new crew" and presumably with no such aspiration. This is once a stunningly beautiful property that has fallen into a sorry state of disrepair. Several of the buildings have visible holes in them (yes!), and the once vibrant landscaping is almost barren in places. Where once there was trimmed green grass is dirt. This is far from the worst of it. The hot water heater is so old it is constantly breaking, leaving residents unexpectedly without hot water (9 times so far this year for me). Rather than replace the hot water heater, management is constantly "waiting for a part" to get it up and running again. This week alone it's been down THREE times. What's worst is management, when queried about what they are doing to resolve the issue, act like they are victims of the circumstances -- We're doing all we can, it just stopped working -- is the general vibe. That they act clueless about the degree of hardship they create for their residents shows a level of disconnect beyond repair. Among other issues: presently CPS is out here tearing up the sidewalk because of problems with the electricity. A couple of months ago there was no water (and we were not forewarned) for a couple of days (and no hot water for a week!) Expect issues with pest control -- I pay $15 per month for regular Thursday service and have yet to have my apartment scheduled. There are a lot of dog lovers, which is fine, but several residents let their dogs run free to do their business where they will, with no repercussions from management. Caveat emptor, dear reader. Buyer beware!
I have never in my life seen such a hign turnover in staff, they go through employees as if its a temp agency. The complex grounds have improved although miscommunication is what this place is known for. My rent payment is always fluctuating, I almost think that they may pocket some of the rent money because they know how horrible they are. It was a mistake renewing my lease, I just did it because my work it literally walking distance from this complex. My advice to any person or family looking for a new place to live, stay away from this complex.
On august 9th, i had movers in my home in arkansas and we were about to do our first PCS move. Needless to say it was not a fun one, one of the biggest stresses was finding a home in san Antonio lol. After fighting for weeks with another apt complex in the san antonio area, my husband and i finally gave up. My family and needed somewhere to go, and fast. I called Deanna at The Escapades apts and explained to her our situation. In less than 24 hours we had an official go on a beautiful townhouse they had available with no restrictions on our furbabies! I arrived Thursday August 10 in the afternoon and filled out all the paperwork, had everything turned on! Yall this community ACTUALLY looks like the pictures online and its beautiful! In the middle of filling out paperwork, maintenance informed Deanna of a slight issue, they were putting fresh paint on the walls of the home, pre-spraying for pests, and cleaning it up making sure it was in perfect condition for us. Without batting an eye, Deanna called around to get a hotel booked up for me and the furbabies for the night. On Friday August 11, my husband and i received our keys and did a walk through of our new home. We took note of things that needed to be repaired or replaced and Maintenance was at our home the next business day. Everything was in working order or replaced quickly and correctly. Deanna and her team made sure we were completely taken care of. Needless to say, i would recommened this place to any and everyone as long as they are dog people! You will catch the occational howl or bark, but we dont mind it. This apt has no breed ban, age restrictions, or weight limit which is a huge help for many, including my family as we have a Great Pyreense/ German Shepherd and a Lab/Husky! Currently, they have no deposit on apts, other than for furbabies. The pet deposit is not as high as other apts, nor is the monthly pet rent. This is a management team who truly cares about their renters. I haven't been here long, but I do love living here (:
Very spacious and comfortable LOFT. The fireplace is a vocal point. The nicely redone kitchen has lots of cabinet space. Having the half bath is idealistic since I host lots of family get to gathers. The porch is larger than most places and it is just perfect. I really love the bedroom upstairs. It's like having a mini HOUSE.
Transferred from IN to TX and found my apartment sight unseen. Didn't know what I would end up with. Surprise!! Best apartment I've ever had! Absolutely perfect! My kid loves her suite! Great staff! So happy!!
We have live here for 5 years now and the management team is great. They have recently done major upgrades to the complex. We live close to shopping centers, movie theater, grocery stores and great places to eat. We are a gated community. We also have bus service right outside the gate. The grounds are beautiful. We have three swimming pools and Bar Be Que pits at all pools, tennis courts and basketball courts. The property is also pet friendly. There is no size limits on dogs and they are also cat friendly. I would recommend these apartments to all of my friends.
