Property Ratings at THE FAIRVIEW
The Fairview is an extremely beautiful community, well kept and peaceful. Everything is so beautiful and clean. I found parking easily as I entered the gates and parked in visitor parking. The office staff was extremely accommodating and friendly when I asked questions. When you first walk through the door, you’re greeted by a friendly voice and smile and felt like I was at a resort. I knew at this time I wanted to call it home. As I waited for my tour the lobby area was beautiful and the furniture was elegant and the apartment view is spectacular you can see NY city. The building is animal friendly and clean with the animals living in the building. I was taken on a tour by a lovely office building manager or leasing agent. When I saw the units I was in love. I immediately started the process to make this my new home. Overall I have been living here for 3 years and I am very happy. We have a pool, gym, laundry room, your own parking spot, a super big community room with comfortable seating. A nice beautiful pool with all amenities. I love the fact that I don’t have to shovel snow anymore On bad weather days, the parking garage area is cleaned and the side walk area and absolutely clean and all cleared it makes you feel nice and warm . Shopping could not be better located and there are a lot of restaurants, transportation and schools near by to make life easy and you don’t have to travel too for and it’s a good feeling.
Becareful moving here my apartment was broken into while i wasnt home. Over 50 thousand worth of items an money was stolen.Building cameras dont work. Doors are made out of wood. The building never reach out to even help with the situation. Management is very poor. Take your money somewere else.
Loud music from neighbors at all hours daily, smoking marihuana constantly smell comes into my apartment the halls smell like marihuana meanwhile this is a smoke free building. It does not matter how many times you complain NOTHING will be done about it even complained to the corporate office about the situation and nothing is done. Maintenance doesn't know much what they are doing I have had a water issue for months and they have not been able to resolve this issue. Constantly one of the elevators is damaged and will stay like this for 2 days or so and not be fixed. Honestly if I could give 0 Stars I would. This has been the worst rental experience ever.
My house in infested with roaches I am probably the most cleanest and germaphobic person you will ever meet. My apartment is spotless but I have had roach infestation for the last 2 months and nothing has changed . And they charge you for every little thing like mistakenly Leaving a small box in the garbage room !!! And guest have to pay for parking if they stay over night !!! This is jokes !!! Plus you don’t get no privacy and management is always in your business !!
This building has a LOT of issues and is far to be considered as "luxury". The first issue in this place are the elevators. Building has 140 tenants and there is only 2 elevators, which one of them is always out of service or reserved for movers (in and out) as of tenant's rotation. One elevator is not enough and most of the times you need to wait long periods to use the elevators. The second issue you will encounter in here is the marijuana smells, the entire place has disgusting smell of marijuana, tenants smoke it not only in their apartments, but in the lobby, hallways, deck and parking lots. I had been lucky enough that in my floor almost every unit smoking marijuana and the smell is unbearable. Plus in the parking lot, the 2 parking spots next to mine are smoking marihuana day and night. The third issue in this place is how unsafe. You will encountered people intoxicated in the elevators shaking and with not friendly look and you will be lucky they do not harm you and your family. People here they are not using their units for residence but as clandestine places to do illegal's things. In mi case I have a dog and need to ride them at night and every day I will pray for my safety while living in this place. Luckily I bought my own residence and move out of this unsafe place by the end of this week. Not to mention that the management here is horrible abusive and want to take money from you for EVERYTHING. They use unappropriated way to rip off the tenants, PLUS they do not do nothing when you complaint about the issues in the building. If you are looking for a nice and safe place to live, look anywhere else as you will regret moving here. The rent charge is not worth to be living unsafe and with fear. NOT appropriated for a family living.
- The entire building smells of marijuana!!! Unfortunately management is aware of it and does nothing about it. The parking garage smells of marijuana too and good luck with your car too. There are people that are down there playing with a soccer ball and when something happens, no one knows a thing because there aren’t any cameras there. - if there are any issues in which you need to get in contact with management, good luck! You’re better off writing your issue on a piece of paper and flushing it down the toilet. The property manager Mike, is terrible! He doesn’t return any calls. The assistant manager, Indhira, is extremely rude and has no manners whatsoever. - The enteran e of the building is unkempt, there is dog excrement and urine everywhere! - the garage doors are guaranteed to be broken several times a month. - the balcony doors are cheap, the wind blows them right open. - there isn’t a steady super and I am pretty sure that there aren’t any background checks being performed. The last ones was arrested, had several conflicts with tenants, and was also smoking on the property. The one before that was always high, and hardcore partying. High to the point that in his euphoria he physically hurt himself in the lobby and trailed blood everywhere. Instead of going to his apartment he got further inebriated passed out at the concierge desk. That one was arrested on the property too. - you sign a waiver for the pool that might as well not exist. Last summer there were people with multiple hookahs by the pool, their kids were in the pool in their underwear and nothing was said. *** don’t waste your time go elsewhere****
If you are a marijuana smoker this is your building. Loud music at any time, gambling and marijuana every day. Do yourself a favor and don’t live here! Run! The management won’t do anything.
This place may look nice but the minute I sign you are nothing more than a monthly check to these people. Our apartment has had NON STOP issues since moving in a few month ago and they do nothing but patch work. I’m talking roaches, black mold, broken locks, water damage JUST TO NAME A FEW!! They refuse to lower our rent for this faulty unit. Will be leaving as soon as the lease is up!!
With all the maintenance fees they charge you, nothing gets done. Elevator can be out of service for a whole day (or two) the front door hasn't been fixed in a year. The door to the apartment itself had to always be locked or the wind would blow it open. The floors were not level, at all. The parking garage has the tightest spots I've ever seen (I got lucky and got one of the very few big spots). Oh and to top it all off, our lease ended at the end of April 2020 (middle of the pandemic) we tried getting the landlord to let us stay and do a month-to-month set up. They said no we have to renew our lease or leave. Mind you renewing would have costed an extra $700 on top of our $3,200 rent for a three bedroom. They added more in fees and raised the rent. This place looks pretty nice, but it definitely isn't worth it.
Pros. The amentities including pool and fitness center. The guys are always nice but the woman is always in a bad mood Cons. Constant smell of marijuana. This is suppose to be smoke free. Very laid back management. Handful of disrespectful people who feel they are obvious to the world. Dogs crap in the courtyard and the owners don't pick it up. Dogs bark and bark and the owners don't care. There's laundry on every floor but come on if you can't get your laundry out of the washer and let it sit for an hour you should move back with your mommy. People dont care about the trash chutes. If you have a couch or anything large people don't care. They just leave it there. If it doesn't foot down the chute you are suppose to walk it down to P2. Once again I say again laid back management . the old management was much better.
Backup of water constantly in the kitchen, loud music from neighbors on the weekend, garage door broken multiple times in just two months, other people parking in your spot. In conclusion, find a better place to live.
1. Small parking lot. You will pay almost $100/mth to get a small tiny parking space. You will end up get a scratch on your doors or bumpers when you finish your contract. If you are not a Formula 1 driver, don't even challenge yourself to park your car in the basement parking lot. 2. Expensive amenity fee. They have a killer view gym that if you look close to the window, you will see cemeteries. The management team called "motivation". Also for the swimming pool that can't controlled by underage security guards. People drinking beers and cocktails at the pool and don't even went to the restroom. But they ran into the pool. Wield. I wouldn't let my kids swimming in that water. Also those drunken people occasionally throw up on the hallway to share food they ate at the pool. How friendly of them! 3. No privacy, can hear every moment of your neighbors' life. This building is newly renovated but doesn't mean that they have changed everything structurally from inside of the building. I hear my next door couples fighting and making love process all that time. I can't wait to get out of this apartment for my kids. 4. Doberman, German shepherd, and siberian husky............... This building is animal friendly building that no such a rule to protect residents from those big breed dogs. 5. Only two elevators but one of them is broken all that time.
The Fairview is a beautiful building with a great convenient location to EVERYTHING!! The new renovated apartments gives you that high sense of luxury without paying the hefty price other buildings around charge. The Views are stunning, whether you have the NYC View or the meadowlands view, or both views depends on the unit you are in. Pool, gym, laundry room are always clean and well maintained. With all the perks I mentioned above, if you have bad management it won’t be a pleasant experience. After, the new owner took over the building and you could see a drastic change, and how much they care about their tenants. I decided to renew my lease and upgraded to two bedrooms, the new Manager Roxana, was so helpful and made it such a smooth transition. She always attentive to what you ask for and goes up and beyond to meet your needs in a timely manner. At this time I can say this is a place I’m look to stay in for a while.
I've been a tenant for going on two years. I have experienced ups and downs, but that was with the previous owner and several different management companies. Every since the new owner and Roxana, everything has been changing for the best. They are attentive to your needs, open to suggestions, and trying to ward off the bad juju from their predecessors. I think that as long as they stay, the better the building will become each day. It's definitely worth a look!
Under the new management things have really turned around. The staff here is amazing, anytime I need something done they handle it no problems. The amenities come in handy like the pool and the gym and the party room.
We've moved about a month ago and have been pleased with the Roxana and her staff. It's a great building and in a super commuter's location if you work in Midtown Manhattan. The unit was painted, prepped, and ready to go on day one of our lease. We are looking forward to settling in here, for sure!
I’ve recently moved into The Fairview and I must say thus far it has been a wonderful experience. Roxana in the management office was not only very professional and efficient during the process but is also very friendly and courteous overall. She followed up in a timely fashion and is very knowledgeable about any questions I had. It’s made for a stress free moving experience and I’m glad I’ve chosen this property over my other options.
We made a big mistake movig to this building, the building smells like marijuana and you can hear your neighbors every day. The elevator smells like dogs and it is always dirty. They said it is hardwood floors but it is linoleum. The ceiling it is really low and the heater ducts make soo much noise that you won’t be able to sleep. Every time it rains you will hear the raindrops hiting the metal of the windows and you won’t be able to sleep either. This is the worst nightmare. Think twice before moving to this “Luxury Place”
Save time and money and go else where. This is not a luxury building as they try to portray. Elevators smell like marijuana. Theres dog poop and pee on elevator every day. Walls are paper thin you will hear everything from your neighbors. And the floors are not hard wood it’s linoleum. Its a new management now that took over the building they do not care of their tenants wont help you whats over little do they know there plenty of new developments in the area that you can get a decent price. Previous owner was not the best but they helped out in any way possible.
My wife and I moved here last July, 2017 during the tail end of the renovations. As we got here last summer, many tenants complained of the ongoing process and many former tenants were moving out and speaking undesirably about the building and management. We were weary, but decided that we had come this far, so let's see how we liked it. We moved into a newly done two bedroom with a balcony. Our balcony does face the cemetery, as a reviewer noted, but we do not mind at all. This side of the building is away from any street noise or traffic. We actually chose this side. The hills beyond are home to the most amazing sunsets each night and it is a beautiful sight to see all the trees from here to Met-Life change colors in the fall. We even saw 4 separate fireworks shows on the 4th of July from our balcony. They were hosted by beyond towns, but we really had fun watching from afar. We have to consider ourselves lucky because we came at the close of renovations and the overhaul of management and super. We have had our concerns addressed immediately via email, phone, or walking into the office. The office has been more than helpful with all of our issues and we have to say that we don't have the complaints that other reviews voice. When it comes to anything in the apartment, Chris, the new super, comes and fixes any and all of it in a very timely manner. We have called a few times about a few things and nothing was left unattended. Chris even bought in a checklist of our concerns to make sure he cleared them all. This area is a newly coming up and new restaurants are opening, which is very promising. We spend a lot of our leisurely time in Edgewater, where we lived before this, and Hoboken, where I work. Everything is still a hiccup away from here so if you are focused on area and aren't set with Bergen Blvd, it is a great spot for those who still want Edgewater, Hoboken, NYC access. A bus stop to the city is also right in front of our building, which is highly convenient. It is fair if an apartment does not work for everyone, but I have to say that for my wife and I, it has worked well for us.
It's utterly ridiculous that you have to pay for parking in a building at this level, but the corporate pigs that own this slum know it sits in a sketchy neighborhood and leaving your car on the street is risky. And yes, if you have a west facing apartment, your view is literally a cemetery on a nice sloping hill. There aren't enough smudge sticks in the world to ward all the unwelcome vibes that situation's gonna give off. PS: the ceiling heights in the apartments are unusually low, the bathroom finishes are cheap, but the kitchens are pretty nice albeit even lower ceilings heights.
Don't be fooled into renting this place. The realtor will say fees are waived when they aren't. The elevator is always down. The hallways and elevator is muggy and hot. It smells like marijuana. We have called the police and they told us they have several reports on marijuana smell. We have found syringes on the side of building. The parking garage is always dirty and smells like garbage because the dumpsters are stored inside the parking garage. Property management is horrible here doesn't know how to do the job. Very rude stuck up doesn't try to help or resolve people's issues or return calls. The realtor tells you thongs that are untrue like the time frame amenities are to be done. They were supposed to be done a year ago according to several tenants and still aren't done. Building is still being renovated. This place is cheaply put together. Look closely when you come and inspect. Someone found blackmold in their closet. Please don't be fooled like the rest of us tenants. Spoke with other tenants that are leaving due to the lies told by realtor and the property management here.
This apartment building is the worst. They are so cheap and don't take care of the building. The elevators are always broke, the pool is never opened, the parking garage is always under construction, and the office is very rude. They will try to see you on some renovation nonsense but in reality they are the same apartments for double the price. Not only is your view a cemetery this building offers ZERO amenities, I wouldn't live here for free
Property Manager at THE FAIRVIEW, Responded To This Review
We were aware of issues that were ongoing during construction but as of November 2017 all renovations have been complete. All amenities are up and fully functioning since December 2017. Our tenants are enjoying the new gym and resident lounge. The pool is seasonal and will be open for the summer months. The south views of the building boast lovely sunsets. The units are the same layout as previously mentioned in order to maintain the large square footage. They have been upgraded and modernized. I hope that you are now enjoying the new amenities and if not, please reach out to the management office. Thank you, Fairview Management
This building is grossly overrated. I spoke with many tenants and they were not happy. This is not on the waterfront as this add claims. The hardwood floors are linoleum. Low quality and overpriced.
Property Manager at THE FAIRVIEW, Responded To This Review
I am sorry that you feel that way but many older tenants were not happy during the renovation. As of November 2017, all renovations have been complete. We are a short 10 min drive down to the Edgewater waterfront. Thank you, Management
It's a good place to live nice view of New York from the George Wash bridge to Bayonne nice people clean big apartments
