With its rolling hills and attractive homes perched along tree-lined streets, Northeast Tacoma provides a decidedly suburban feel while still being only about seven miles from downtown. The neighborhood follows Commencement Bay from Dash Point south to Fife Heights, and it is separated from downtown by the Port of Tacoma. Several marinas dot the shoreline of Northeast Tacoma, including Tyee Marina and Corinthian Yacht Club of Tacoma.
One of the highlights of Northeast Tacoma, Dash Point State Park, covers 400 acres along Puget Sound and is the ideal hiking, swimming, fishing, biking, and boating destination. Dash Point Beach is a summertime favorite vacation spot, but residents can enjoy the amazing views year-round. Another great destination, Browns Point Lighthouse Park, sits along the northwest side of the neighborhood. Tour the lightkeeper’s cottage, have a picnic, and then sit back along the beach and watch the ships arrive at the port.

The intent to serve is clear, but the practice is a bit behind
Hi, I moved in here a few months ago and I have to say the condition of the apartments is really pretty bad. Cabinet doors don't fix correctly, there was filthy stains everywhere when I moved in, nearly every light switch has over paint and there was black mold behind the toilet. I now run a dehumidifier in my bathroom 24/7 to get rid of the moisture and keep the mold from coming back.

It is a convenient and relatively safe place to live but I would not recommend to friends or family as the value for the rent charged is nonexistent.

Don’t move here! It is dirty and unkept. So many buildings are overlooked. Maintenance and the leasing office won’t do anything to better your stay.

I really do enjoy living at the Fairways, Amanda was great helping me through out the process and everyone else that also helped. The entire process from applying to moving in was easy. It’s been nice living there, it’s never loud and the community seems and well maintained. I also like that parking isn’t crazy if I ever want to have a guest over. Amenities are great and the staff are so friendly and seem to be on top of things.

Not bad location but management is absolutely clueless. Multiple car thefts within the past month and they shut down the pool to only business hours?!? Like what sense does that make? Hire security or be smart about how to handle issues. The pool is only open for about 3 months tops as well.

This place needs a lot of work to justify the monthly cost. Every single thing about it can be improved, from security on the premises, to appliances not working at move in, to people leaving their trash on the curb where animals rip it apart, to the too-small parking lot. Every single thing a person would take into consideration before moving into a new place needs improvement.

We just moved in and everything has been so smooth and very nicely handle. Shayna has been SO helpful and was so nice to help us move in quickly and efficiently. There were a couple things that needed to be fixed when we moved in, and maintenance was quick to come and fix what needed to be fixed.

I workout daily at the Fairways gym - almost 2 years here with daily workouts and there is never more than 4 residents in the state-of-the-art, advanced, well-maintained fitness center. Property just added new equipment today. Also there is a yoga room-- good staff. clean, and great fitness machines!

The fairways overall is slowly improving, but still has a ways to go before being worth it’s price point. -Maintenance is ridiculously under-staffed and do not show up at their scheduled times. Myself and 2 other tenants/units that I've met all have maintenance requests that have been open for MONTHS. One doesnt have a working washer and dryer, one can not use the shower in their 2nd bathroom, and I have waited WEEKS to have my heating fixed. Yes, you read that right. I have NO HEAT AT ALL in my unit and havent for weeks. Maintenance has said they would come 3 times now and hasnt ever shown up. -You pay $20 a month for "valet" trash that rarely shows up. So you get piles of trash on everyones porches for days. -The community is not maintained well except for the golf course. Broken lights, railings, stairs, and the pet waste bins and trash cans by the mailboxes are always overflowing. -Office staff do not care at all and will NOT help you. Good luck getting anyone to answer you on the tenant line. They will also accept your packages and then never tell you. (And not look when you call. You HAVE to go to the office if you think they have it.) -Management is even worse; nothing ever gets done or fixed; good luck getting an answer or help with anything. [After being blown off by the leasing manager for nearly 2 months I threatened a law suit (i was put into a different until since the one i agreed to wasnt ready - but the new unit wasnt ready either and no one ever came to fix and finish everything), and they let me speak to the property manager. It took me a month going back and forth with management to get my unit up to move in ready condition because maintenance ignored her telling them to come to my unit. -There isnt nearly enough open parking and the $50/month paid parking is always "full" according to the leasing manager. -The units are such low quality. The floors squeak, you can hear everything your neighbors do, they have a problem with appliances, and the "new" finishes are cheap. This is by far the worst apartment complex I have lived in which is such a shame because its a nice neighborhood. I thought Greystar was a decent company but this community seems to have been brushed under the rug. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this place - you'll have nothing but regret and headaches if not. I wish I had read reviews before signing my lease. Worst decision I have made in years, so i am posting this one in hopes it helps someone save themselves the trouble of this horrid place. Please read the recent reviews from the last 6 months.

Apartments have pretty good floor plans and are in fairly good condition. Apartments surrounding the golf courses are nice.

Cant recommend renting here. The renovations are cheaply done and not worth the price at all. The staff don't care and do the bare minimum. The grounds are nice but again, not worth the price or the hassle of everything else you have to deal with. Go somewhere else.

The staff is very professional and understanding and caring. The maintenance guy I forgot his name that normally pick up the trash and dust the compactor is very nice and friendly and very helpful the maintenance when it’s done it’s not professionally and not just some thrown on work done quick fix the property is always clean and up kept. It’s very peaceful and enjoying living by the pond my kids love the ducks in the view we love the apartment we’re in we love the corner apartment we downsize from a three bedroom to this two bedroom even though it’s much smaller is much more beautiful and home warming to come home to

Staff is very friendly, but they are slow to get back to you on anything. Our apartment wasn't clean when we moved in. Stuff was broken and weeks later maintenance still hasn't even looked at it yet.

Overall, it’s a very nice apartment community. The views of the golf course are excellent, it’s a quiet forest area, and the rent price is competitive for the size and quality. The staff is friendly and quick to respond, and the entire area is very clean.

The property is under new management, and they are not playing nice. 1, They have raised rent Min 42% - Max 64.4 % this year (2022) 2, Trash is $40.00 with a mandatory $20.00 ($60.00) 3, Sewer is $42.00 4, Covered parking is $50.00 5, A garage is $150.00 6, You will need covered parking because after 5 pm all the parking is gone. 7, If you live near the golf course by any of the holes your car will get hit with golf balls and dented. We contacted the front office they said contact the golf club. Golf club said sorry too bad, move. 8, The post man stopped delivering my mail for 6 months. I had 6 open claims, 5 visits to the Fife office, I went to Twitter, Headquarters, and eventually getting my lawyer involved. Finally, after a lawyer they said sorry we accidently stopped service to your box after they blamed the senders! The front office was on my side, but it was pointless. 9, The heaters are electric and passive (No Fan to circulate), good luck heating your place. 10, Plan to have your car stolen, broken into, or catalytic converter stolen. 11, The gradient in and out of some of the driveways are 40 feet in 20 feet. That means wintertime you will slide into a parked car, get stuck, or smack a curb. 12, The last complaint, some renters have 4+ vehicles that never move, it's frustrating because parking is so bad to begin with. Save the project car for when you have a home. 13. For fun count how many apartments are on the property. Then multiply than number by 60. That's what they are making off garbage alone in on month. I was kind of shocked I then multiplied that by 12 months, I was flatlined. Happy renting!!!

I love it here. My friend accidentally left her rollaway cart with her wallet everything in it in the parking lot and the next day it was still there. This place is so trustworthy beautiful quiet. Maintenance staff come within hours of request for service. The office staff is professional and friendly. They are very helpful, they help process your application quickly. I highly recommend Fairway.

From the start of are move in the management was worse then I’ve ever experienced. The management failed to inform us of deadlines on leasing agreements where told one thing by one person then to have another say that everything we signed was misplaced then where told we never signed ext. The falier to take any responsibility for there workers incompetence was beyond me. All in all I would never recommend these apartments soulfully off the direct actions of the management and there staff would have given a -5 stars of possible!

I cannot say enough great things about The Fairways Apartment in Tacoma. First of all, the staff (especially Kanani) and manager (Angela) at The Fairways Apartment really care about your and your family’s quality of living. They take the time to meet with you, find out your individual needs, and provide you with the best solutions to your leasing problems. They respond very quickly and are always nice and friendly. You couldn't be in better hands with The Fairways Apartment and its staff/manger. Second, the apartment complex is on a golf course, which means the surroundings of the community are very beautiful. My family and I really enjoyed viewing the picturesque trees, beautiful hills covered with neat grasses, and cute ducks on ponds. Another best part of living in The Fairways is, to me, that there are ALWAYS available parking spots near my unit no matter what time I get my home. I have two cars, and really loved the ample parking spots in my apartment area. Having enough parking spaces is VERY important because I sometimes get home around 11 p.m. In my previous apartment, it was a pain for me to find an available parking spot when I got home around that time, but in The Fairways there are always available parking spots, which is awesome!! I would recommend the Fairways Apartment and its staff/manager to anyone looking for a perfect place to live in an apartment in Tacoma.
From our initial move in, we had many issues with this apartment unlike any other the other apartments we have lived in during our adult lives. There were substantial issues with the move in condition of the apartment that were not complete including missing plumbing, poor paint job, smell of cigarette smoke, dishwasher, an interior door was missing, vents in the bathrooms did not work, and so on. We complained to the management and finally got all these initial issues resolved after being in our apartment for three months with the exception of one issue. We still had issues with the smoke smell that apparently came from our neighbor below. This was management's conclusion after saying the subcontractor smoked in our apartment during the turnover or that perhaps the previous tenet smoked. They said they would 'seal' our neighbor’s apartment after complaints that my wife's asthma was getting inflamed and considering she was in her second trimester at the time. As we entered fall we began to experience mold around our windows. We were told this was because of the type of windows in the apartment. We were later told it was because our apartment was 'too cold' and we needed to heat it more to prevent condensation. We were also told that we needed to have better air circulation in the apartment to prevent the mold - despite using air purifiers in the various rooms to combat the smoke smell. Later, after our neighbor moved out they prepped his apartment for turnover, which included painting his apartment. We knew they were painting because over the overwhelming smell of VOCs (volatile organic compounds) or paint fumes from the work going on downstairs. We immediately went to the office to complain to management, but the property manager had already gone home for the day before the office had closed. When the rental agent got her on the phone she recommended that we open our windows to let out the fumes which was not possible with nighttime temperatures getting to 21*F. The manager recommended that we file a claim against our renter’s insurance to get a hotel if we needed to be displaced (i.e., recall pregnant wife and awful paint smells) despite this being a problem they created. When we asked to talk to the manager directly she didn't want to talk with us because her work day was over and would address the issue in the morning. So we were left with no solutions from management despite the horrific smell of paint fumes in our apartment.
These apartments are a great place to live! They're in a quite neighborhood and on a golf course. I would recommend anyone who wants to live in Tacoma to move her.
been living here for almost one year i like these apartments but they are over priced .
I've been at my current complex since 2004, and I'm very happy. I had to move to a ground floor apartment, due to a surgery. They were very helpful in helping me find a solution. The view of the golf course, and the pond is great. I'd highly recommend this complex to friends and family.
