Property Ratings at The Fields Conover
I’ve lived in this complex for several years now. They’re under new management as of about six months ago. These people have no idea what they’re doing. If you get a package delivered to the office, you can’t pick it up if you work during their office hours. They don’t allow for any other type of pickup and they will send your packages back when you can’t get them. They don’t pick up trash on the property any more. The trash compactor gets jammed every weekend and overflows into the parking lot. There are large aggressive dogs living on the property now. Many older residents are afraid to leave their units. They plan to increase rent by $200 per month starting this year so do yourself a favor and find a better place to live.

I wanted to take the time to respond to your review. We take reviews very seriously. I would first like to first address the package delivery system. The post office refuses to deliver to the resident(s) door. We have advised our residents several times to contact the post office and place a complaint with the postmaster. We do not have storage lockers to accommodate residents packages after hours. We have gone out our way to deliver resident packages to their doors despite being our responsibility to accommodate their request. In regard to trash, our grounds are cleaned daily with the exceptions of those residents that place their trash bags on the trunk their cars and the drive off causing trash goes everywhere, which we still clean up. We have started a system in place to go through the trash and find who it belongs to. We have had no issue with the dumpster except when residents don't break down their boxes. In regard to rental increases the average is 2-5% based on the location of your apartment and what the current market rates are. Nobody has received a $200 increase. Regarding breed restrictions, we have to follows laws and legally there are some exceptions to those rules. I am more than happy to discuss any of your concerns in the office or via email. I do think it is important to know all the facts and you are more than welcome to reach out to the office at 828-466-2202 to discuss further. Thanks Conover Management Show Translation
Management sends out rude emails about having a bag of trash outside your door, yet the trash compacter is always over flowing with trash and other rubbish. We have been told to refrain from taking our trash out due to the compacter over flowing. But we are going to get fined for sitting a bag of trash outside our door? What else are we supposed to do with our trash? They are concerned about appearances but yet the disgusting trash compacter is the first thing that’s seen when pulling into the complex. The office opens at 0830 and they are never actually open until almost 0900.

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. Our number one goal is the total satisfaction of our residents, and we are so sorry that you are dissatisfied. As far as the compactor, a notice was in fact put out for one day to please refrain from putting trash in the compactor until the next business day, due to the compactor freezing over due to the below freezing temperatures and not working. This was unfortunately out of our hands and Republic Services was unable to come out until the next business day. We truly apologize for that inconvenience. We are in the process of having cameras installed surrounding our compactor to monitor who is putting what in the compactor, as we are having multiple issues of people disposing of items that are causing damage/ maintenance issues with the compactor. We are also in the process of creating a better curb appeal for the property as a whole, and as part of this, we are asking that our residents do not place trash in front of their doors. I would love the opportunity to speak with you regarding your issues/concerns with our property management. Please contact me at (828) 466-2202 OR conovermanager@gmail.com at your earliest convenience.
As a first-time apartment-dweller, I am very impressed with The Fields of Conover. Office personnel are always available and very friendly. James in maintenance courteous, respectful and very prompt in taking care of any issues that arise. Location is great, close to interstate and shopping yet secluded enough to make me feel safe. Would highly recommend this complex.
I searched long and hard for an apartment in the Newton-Conover area. I had essentially given up when the management called me to say, "We want you to live here." I was so happy!! They diligently completed my punchlist, completely renovated the floors and walls and installed new appliances. Thank you so much for my home, sweet home! ~Jill Callot
This apartment complex has went downhill fast as rent is going up quickly. I was very happy when I moved in a year and half ago. Since then it has been bought by another owner and is declining daily. We are being charged for trash now and trash is constantly pilling up over the top of trash dumpster and onto the road. Also there is a lot of trash laying around the grounds of the complex. Issues that need to be fixed within apartments are taking weeks to be fixed ,after being brought to staffs attention, while the office/community room is being renovated.

Thank you for your thoughtful review of The Fields Conover. We value any and all feedback regarding our community. My name is Jaclyn Crocker and I am your brand new Community Manager on site. We have some very exciting updates and changes coming your way in the next few months. We do apologize for the trash compactor issue at the beginning of last week, our compactor had broken out of our control, and we had Republic Services out here as soon as we could get them to resolve this issue. Several residents have come in and let us know about service requests when paying rent the past couple of weeks, and their needs were quickly addressed the same day. We currently have zero open work orders in our system. If you have an outstanding service request, please call the office and we'll take care of it as quickly as possible. If you would like to discuss your concerns, or have any questions, please contact us at (828) 466-2202 or by email at conovermanager@thefieldsliving.com. Again, thank you for your feedback. Sincerely, Jaclyn - Community Manager
We have a good crew with maintenance and front office staff. Coming from a long time resident, they take care of what need to be taken care of.

Thank you for your positive comment. We do strive to take care of all of our residents needs as much as we can. Alana Property Manager
Everything on these other reviews are nothing but lies. The apartments are over price and most of them haven't been properly clean when move in. Police are here every week because of auto break in ,drug dealers and eviction notices. It is a drug haven for pills and meth users. Every week you see people moving out because of the lies from the office toof poor maintenance. When first moved in 2 years ago it was a quite place with nice landscaping but after that everything is terrible. When it rains you can see mud running down the parking lot and a lot of dead dirt spots instead of grass. Insects are bad no one comes out to spray any more inside or outside. Finally all complaints are ignored you either call the police and handle it yourself because the once you sign the least the office people are nonexistent. Trash is always in the parking lot people leave trash outside their doors and dog shot every where. Side walks are never clean and would swim in the poor at all. So after looking at these reviews it looks like this was the doing of the office people and not the people who are moving out. Check out very carefully before signing any lease with these people drug activity everywhere. Even my rating in over rated.
I've been living here for over a year now. I've owned homes and rented townhouses and apartments and I would have to say that this is one of the nicest rental apartments that I've leased. The management ( Alana & Gabbi) are super to work with and have always been helpful and friendly and the only maintenance issue that I had was minor and repaired promptly. What I do miss is the ability to pay my rent online like I could when I first moved in which prompted this note. I was looking on the site to see if the rent could be paid online when I saw the other comments. I see that one was less then favorable but then again not all of us can be satisfied all of the time. I do recall the rash of B&E's of motor vehicles in recent months that another occupant mentioned. The management stayed on top of it and kept the residents informed as well as having two community watch meetings where the Conover Police interacted with the residents. I have since found out that the suspects that were responsible for these crimes had been operating in a big ring and have subsequently been arrested. As a retired depty Chief of Police with 30 years of service, I feel as safe here as I did in any of my former residences. As far as criminal activity I have not witnessed any however it is a small world and I'm sure some criminal violations occur from time to time. If the Gentleman who raised a question about some drug use in the complex would call the Conover Police Department and report his or her suspicions next time, they may be able to develope probable cause through investigative techniques to determine what is actually going on. Although the management should also be informed by tenants of allegations the management are not sworn law enforcement officers and can do little to remedy suspicions other then pass second hand or third party information to authorities. In closing other then not being able to pay my rent online and some congested parking issues from time to time the Ridge Pointe Apartments are safe clean and are conducive to family living. Frank
Every time you go to management with a problem ( Alana ) it's totally ignored or mishandled. Their are people who are bringing drugs into the area and she has been notified on numerous occasions and still no results. People making noise in the middle of the night, vehicles being broken into, people feeding stray cats and the list can go on. Need someone to come down and see and maybe then you would understand why so many people are moving out.
Nice quiet area. Close to downtown. Also, close to the highway I-40.
All fellow apartment renters, Good morning, I want to leave a review for you regarding the status quo of Ridgepointe Apartments here in Conover, NC. I have lived here for over five years and if it wasn't for an anticipated move to the West Coast, I would have stayed here much longer. The turnaround time for Maintenance is very quick, usually an hour, they are conducive to working with you and fixing the problems. The management staff, Alana and Gaby are very easy to deal with and overall friendly with their clientele that rent from them. I would recommend this complex to anyone since the rents are very competitive to that in the area. I also feel very safe here at this complex vice other ones you may find in Hickory or Statesville. Thank you, Tom

Currently I live in Ridge Pointe apartments in Conover, NC with my husband and two young children. We have lived here a little less than a year and we absolutely love it! It is the best apartment we have lived in and we don't plan on leaving. They take care of any maintenance or other issues we may have and they are always kind and courteous. There really isn't anything bad to say about Ridge Point apartments. It is very clean inside and out and it is a extremely safe neighbor to raise my children in.
