Property Ratings at The Fisher
Once you move in they could not care less . In a year that I have been here it has gone down hill. I have been waiting months for repairs. Going to better business now.
I am absolutely happy and grateful to have found the Fisher Apartments. The place has so much charm (especially the heart shaped pool, the outdoor kitchen, and the fire pit) and is in a great location (right across the street from Baldwin Lake) in one of the best neighborhoods of Orlando: Winter Park! I already started meeting some of the residents and there is a warm, welcoming, family-friendly, and dog-friendly community here. Align Communities has done a great job of renovating the apartments here. Granite counter tops, brand new stainless steel appliances, energy efficient washers and dryers in-unit, and a new energy efficient A/C unit, plus the great amenities and location are what sold me on living at the Fisher Apartments. Also, the leasing agent, Laura C., saved me much time and effort in my apartment search. She made the process easy and seamless, and in a matter of a few days, I was approved, and moving in. I am so glad that I got this apartment and can go for a run around Baldwin Lake, take a dip in the pool and cook and eat dinner with my neighbors. Thank you Laura and Align Communities! -Ralph P.

Once this complex, formerly Tara House, became the Fisher Apartments it stopped feeling like home. We've lived here since 2005 because we were well taken care of by the previous owner. We, like many others, found ourselves priced out by Align Communities. The irony is this stopped feeling like a community when they took over.

Align Communities does not have the best interest of its residents at heart and are contributing to the housing crisis in Central Florida. This property management group bought the property in January 2022 and doubled the current resident's rent (my rent went up 102% to be exact) under the guise of "renovations" and inflation. Upon their arrival, they displaced young families, the elderly and the disabled. Per the property apraiser, these units were built in 1967 which means that they are not nearly as new as the complexes in actual Baldwin Park. The "renovations" are cosmetic, of cheap quality and unimpressive. The new washer/dryers is small (you will be able to do roughly half of an average load at a time) and by installing them, you lose closet space. The dishwashers are also small and by their installation, you lose cabinet space in the kitchen, which is already limited. The kitchens and bathrooms will not be gutted, so the cabinetry is incredibly old and not updated. One of their most prized upgrades is the LED lights...really? I will give them credit when due, the only good thing they updated was the flooring. They now allow dogs on the property, which has become a problem. The dogs on the property are wild/loud, usually unleashed and some are aggressive. The ungovernable dogs poop on the sidewalks and in the grass. They built a dog bark on the property, which is stupid since there is literally a community Dog Park less than 500 feet away from the complex. (No seriously, you can see the Community Dog Park from the complex). Guess who paid for the dog park on the complex? Us, the residents who do not have or want dogs on the property. If they cared about the residents, they would have built something that enhances the community, instead of building something redundant. They also added a grill (that no one uses), a bocci court (that no one uses), painted the apartment (which is hideous...why would you paint classic brick?) and now allow dogs. These changes matter because the cost of these unnecessary renovations are then costs pushed onto the residents. The office staff is frequently unavailable, and when they are available, they are unapproachable or too incompetent to answer routine questions. Please be aware that when looking at reviews for this property, anything posted prior to January 2022 is referring to the previous owners (Tara House) not the current property management Align Communities.
Limited privacy, loud neighbors, rude management. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.
