The second largest city in Michigan, Grand Rapids rests on the Grand River, about 30 miles east of Lake Michigan. Formerly known as the Furniture City, Grand Rapids is now nicknamed the River City as well as Beer City USA for its riverside locale and proximity to 40 craft breweries. Grand Rapids is also the hometown of former United States President Gerald Ford. Fans of the 38th president can learn more about his life and impact on American history at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum.
Notable as an artistic haven, Grand Rapids hosts the annual ArtPrize competition, a 19-day affair drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors to the city and featuring artwork all throughout Downtown Grand Rapids. Frederik Meijer Gardens exhibits an expansive variety of sculptures and gardens both indoors and outdoors. Meyer May House is revered as one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s architectural masterpieces.

Property Ratings at The Fountains
This apartment complex is so mediocre for the price of it. The people who live here have no respect for the property. Trash is consistently on the side of the road or in the grass areas and management does not care to do anything about it or fine the people who are littering. Many many people have gotten their cars broken into or stolen and the complex does have cameras but refuses to do anything with the footage, and is no help what so ever when a car is broken into. Also I love how they put the pool as the first photo for the main attraction. Its barely ever open. They open it late in the summer and use excuses that don't even make sense and then close it early whenever there is an inconvenience instead of getting it fixed. The pool house is also not allowed to be used. When we first moved in, management had told us that we would be able to rent out the pool house for events such as birthday parties or graduations. But once we requested to rent the pool house out, they said that wasn't allowed and that I couldn't. The pool house is also locked daily. They have a full kitchen, dining and living room area that is closed off and never used. The only portion thats open is the bathrooms and workout rooms. Management is also just bad at responding. There office is always locked and they prefer to talk on the phone vs just talking in person. Although I will say the repair people are super awesome and super nice and can fix just about anything very quickly.
I've had cockroaches in my apartment for at least two months and the property management company has failed to resolve this issue, even after they confirmed that the roaches were no fault of my own. It is managed by KMG Prestige Inc. I have also experienced water damage from the upstairs unit on multiple occasions with delayed response from the property management company as well. Your money would be better spent at any other non KMG Prestige property in the state.
Don't be fooled by reviews and warm welcome like I was.. the maintenance and management are nothing short of unprofessional. They never return phone calls, close the office early, and take FOREVER to fix things. Our apartment building was without a lock for 3 weeks, meaning anyone could walk right in to our building. I called time and time again to have this issue fixed, as it was a safety concern. This happening around the holidays when robberies are more common, made this even more of an issue for me. The office wouldn't return my calls, or play dumb when I did finally got ahold of them. The management seemed to "not know" why the lock was removed in the first place or why we were the only building without one. We also once had a bat in the hallway of our building, after office hours.. when calling the emergency maintenance line, they proceeded to tell us just to prop the door open in hopes it would fly out. This was a concern as bats carry many diseases and multiple people in our building, myself included, have dogs and other pets. Why have an emergency maintenance line if you are going to refuse to come out and fix the issue? We ended up having to capture the bat in a garbage can and remove it from our building ourselves... The apartment itself is fine, although a little expensive for the quality. When we toured the property, the model unit was fully updated and beautiful. They told us the only differences between the newly updated ones and the others were "minor cosmetic details".... not exactly true, as on move-in day, our apartment looked VASTLY different from the one we toured. The only reason I am giving this property 2 stars is because the apartment was very clean when we moved in, and they are pretty good at plowing and shoveling the snow in the winter in a timely manor. That being said, if you are ok with unprofessional and lackadaisical management that doesn't take their residents safety concerns seriously, then I suppose this place is fine to live at. I personally am not a fan of the property, as I have lived at many other places around the same price, that conducted themselves in a more professional manor.
Let me just say that i have never in my life experienced such a knowlegable, professional, and friendly Maintenance staff while living in an apartment community. No task is to big for this crew and whenever something goes wrong, its ussually fixed the same day. As for the office staff, exceptional as well. Friendly, affordable, and wonderful place to call home.
The office staff here is super friendly! They showed me all of my options and were very detailed in the application process. There are many renovations going on at the property and I really appreciate how much attention to detail there is. The newly updated units are gorgeous and so worth it!
For as many people that live in this complex it's rather quite. There is a coin operated washer and dryer along with an extra storage area for each apartment in the building. The only thing that bothers me is the trash and personal items people leave in the hallway and yard.
The apartments have updated kitchens and bathrooms, plus new carpeting. The walls are really thick too, the only time I can hear conversation is when people are in the hall. Maintenance is timely and the office staff is wonderful. Only problem is that the geese population is out of control.
The actual apartment was nice. The office staff was great, she came in on her day off to show the apartment. The biggest cons of the apartment are no W/D hookups and only one small unit per building on the bottom floor. Storage space by the washer and dryers is kind of creepy too. If I really didn't mind taking my laundry to a laundromat these apartments would be a great choice.
I lived here for 2 years and I wish I had moved sooner. The rent they charge is more than the apartments are worth. The staff is friendly but not very good at communication and it is horridly slow to get maintenance issues taken care of. I had to ask twice for each problem I had and some were never gotten to at all.
My cousin stay out there it's nice and clean And I would like to stay out there as soon as possible
