Property Ratings at The Franklin Roosevelt Apartments
The Franklin Roosevelt apartments are a great place to live! I am just moving out after almost three years and I already miss it. Affordable, safe, immediate access to the city, walkable/bikable neighborhood, accessible landlord. The back terrace and green space is well kept, spaces clean and tidy. Highly recommend!
I have lived at the Franklin Roosevelt for the past three years, and absolutely loved it. There’s lots of great sunlight, easy walks to so many restaurants and coffee shops, and as a non-driver I love how many buses run nearby. The manager is always quick to reply if there are ever issues (very rare and minor), and the land/building maintenance folks are always professional and kind. The sunlight in my corner unit was a joy for growing plants or looking out on winter wonderlands. I will miss it. (Moving out to a house)
We lived in this apartment building for ten years. It was pleasant and airy place to live, but the care of the property was not at all up to scratch. We had the roof repair folks put a two-by-four through our bathroom ceiling, an infestation of bedbugs, and numerous small issues. If we contacted the management, we were treated as if we were asking for too much and as if the problems were our fault. The building manager, Mike, is one of the most surly human beings I've ever met. He takes every opportunity to make others feel small and ashamed of themselves. Any chance to belittle and degrade others will be taken. I have been out of the building for several months, and I had a final contact today over a package delivered to my former address. I was told I couldn't have the box until I said thank you for Mike taking time to give it to me. The petty rudeness he treated me with was beyond description. I hope I never have a reason to visit the property again.
Lived there 3 years and it was great. Awesome location, easy access to the highway to the mountains, can go downtown by foot and Cap Hill is awesome. I had hardwood floors, bathtub, parking spot.. at a great price. Management is great, thank you Mike for everything again, they are all super responsive if you have any issue. Never had any bugs in 3 years. I 100% recommend that place!
Imagine walking into a 500sq foot bedroom only to realize that's the size of your apartment, no air, and not much of a heating system beside your oven... where rent costs more than 50% of your budget... The perks aren't great, but living downtown is, having the luxury to walk to work, to the park, to the movies makes the awful living conditions not seem so bad, least I hope to think that is the case, all we can do is hope for the best, and to keep on kicking.
