Property Ratings at The Gaetz
When the price sounds too good to be true that should have been a red flag, but I still made the mistake of renting here. I first found the apartment nice and I liked the style. The YMCA is across the street, but the landlord said that it will be closed very soon. It is still not closed and with respect to all people having to reside there, it is a safety issue. The police and firemen are constantly present. I am aware of 1 stabbing in the YMCA, but there must have been more. Maintenance is not good, they come into my apartment as they please and do not communicate. There has been times when my rent was "accidentally" incorrect and of course they tried to make me pay more. I find that very suspicious. The hallways constantly smell like marijuana. I had some encounters with tenants making me feel unsafe. It is mostly populated by college students though who are typically nice. The windows do not open all the way, just a few inches. There are frequent issues with pluming in the building. They will use every excuse to issue penalties as well. They do not care about the tenants, they only care about money. Parking is expensive, expect to spend a couple extra hundred dollars on that. Despite parking being expensive, your car will still get stuck in the snow during the winter and you will not be able to leave especially if you are parking on the street. You cannot leave your car unlocked either because you will be robbed or your car will be stolen. There is also usually only one source of heat or AC in the apartments. It can be pretty cold in these apartments during the winter. Other tenants also complain about this place. Overall, moving here has been a terrible mistake.
