About an hour inland from Savannah, Statesboro is a charming small city steeped in history and culture. With Georgia Southern University occupying the south side, the college town atmosphere extends well beyond the campus with 20,000 enrolled students heavily influencing the city’s cultural landscape. The city’s Downtown district features countless examples or beautifully preserved architecture, with historic storefronts housing unique specialty shops and restaurants of every description, particularly clustered around the intersection of Main and Main (where North, South, East and West Main Streets come together).
The Statesboro Mall on the east side anchors the city’s larger retail district, with more shopping centers found along Fair Avenue near the Georgia Southern campus. Rental rates in Statesboro tend to be quite affordable, making life a little easier for folks on a budget.

Property Ratings at The Garden District
Garden District has a quiet and peaceful environment. The staff is amazing and provides excellent customer service! The rates are affordable, and the apartments are in great condition!
I agree with the last poster. I have been living in the GD since September and it has been a really enjoyable experience. I got a crazy great deal on my rent and it's always calm and quiet. I'm right next to the leasing office and the staff is always kind and helpful. My toilet likes to mess up and it's been a recurring issue but that can be annoying but the staff has been attentive to this issue. And because the staff was so helpful, I was able to get approved on my own because I couldn't get anyone to co-sign for me. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else in Statesboro, honestly. This is truly a great place.
I love the garden district . It gives me that New Orleans feelling. Prices are great and staff is amazing.
I've been living here for a year now and Ive really enjoyed it. The management and maintenance are really easy to work with. It's in a good location and very close to campus. They allow pets and they have plenty of areas for you to walk your dog including a dog park! I have never had any problems while living here and I would recommend it to anyone who is on a budget and likes a quiet place to live .
I have lived at The Garden District for 1 year. They are THE ONLY complex in Statesboro that offers reasonable short term leases. The office staff is nice and the maintenance team is super fast. I'll admit that it isn't brand new like some of the other complexes but you get more personal service and it is soooooo quiet out here. I have really enjoyed my time here and it's gonna be great not having to sublease after I graduate! Thanks Garden District.
The Gardest District is getting their third lease out of me now, and should be held as a strong candidate of Statesboro's apartments. You couldn't dissappoint yourself with this one. There have been good owners, and maintenance as well as the people in the office are always willing to work with you. Apartments are being renovated and updated now, so all new appliances, interiors, and improvements are being made and there are always good rate deals going on. It's a hard place to beat for the price. The feel around here is very peaceful and quiet and laid back for the most part. It is Not super loud party environment like many other college town apartments. There is a pool. It's not huge, but half the time you have it to yourself. The wifi sucks for streaming movies and games a lot of the time, but you can always hook your own line up from other providers for cheap. It's a good deal you can't dissappoint yourself with, and if you haven't made your mind up, just go ahead and roll with it. You'll probably end up signing about 3 or more leases..
These apartments are just what me and me fiancé are looking for. Great community beautiful look and the feeling I get makes me feel like I'm home.
You win some you lose some.. Definitely a win at The Garden District! I was hesitant at first after reading other reviews but it was really a nice and comfortable living experience. I've lived in my same apartment for 2 and a half years and recently graduated this fall semester. Of course I had a couple issues here and there within my apartment but the maintenance and office staff was nice and prompt and I appreciated that. I would 100 % recommend my friends to live here... and best of all its affordable!
IT WAS A NICE PLACE THE OFFICE STAFF WAS FRIENDLY. WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO OTHERS. THE PROPERTY WAS WELL KEPT.
Staff are completely rude, the don't follow through with part of the lease agreement. Run as fast as you can from this complex!
Lived here now for three years. Staying until I graduate. Thanks Garden District!
Loved these aprtments, great price and huge rooms. Very pretty outside also.
Don't move here unless you love to waste money. The people here are absolutely horrible! Don't even let them match you with a roommate because it will more than likely be some half brain psychopath! Find somewhere else to live because this place is the worst in Statesboro!
