Property Ratings at The Gardens at Anthony House
Amenities like the basketball court are closed 2/3's of the time. Trash valet service is provided about 2/5 of the time promised, on average. Labeling of buildings/entrances is only existent on 1/3 of the building at best. Noise is a constant issue. Car break ins are a constant issue. Car theft is an issue. Maintenance fails to properly install/repair equipment such as toilets, sinks, refrigerators, freezers, and lighting.
Property Manager at The Gardens at Anthony House, Responded To This Review
Thank you for your feedback. The basketball court was closed for a period of time due to excessive use by non-residents and residents letting non-residents in, as well as abuse of the facilities. We did a gradual reopening and it is back to the regular hours. If your trash is not being picked up by Trash Butler, you can call the phone number on your trash can or you can call the Leasing Office to let us know so that we can communicate that with Trash Butler. Regarding your maintenance issues, I'd like to know more details about these issues. Please feel free to reach out to me with this information. Thank you in advance and I look forward to hearing from you. Stefanie Wilson-Community Manager (336)691-5382
Property is 10/10, Management is poor service. I have been renting with this property since 2019. I like the fact that the property is out of the way and right off the highway so if you need to go anywhere most of everything is about 10-15 minutes away. I have the smallest one bedroom and its big enough for me. I honestly love my apartment but there are things with management that didn't sit well with me. My car was broken into and they did nothing about it. Actually theres a community board and multiple people complained of the same issue but no response from management. My packages have been stolen as well as other tenants according to community board and instead of doing something about it management tells me to get a amazon locker?? (they actually took the community board down LOL) Then the system charges me a late fee on my rent when there was money in my account and I have never been late and they cant take the fee off although I'm a great tenant who pays on time?? All this to say, I'm finally leaving this place but will miss my cozy apartment.

Hello Litehsha, I am so sorry that our service did not meet your expectations. I would love the opportunity to discuss your issues and see how we could have done better. Thank you, Diana - Property Manager
Off the beaten path, but close enough to everywhere you need to go. Friendly staff. Great amenities. Love the granite countertop and designer kitchens!
If I could give it negative stars I would! This is the absolute WORST apartment complex I have ever lived in! We have 5 months left in our lease and we are strongly considering breaking it! For starters these are not “Luxury” apartments as advertised. They are constructed using cheap materials, fixtures and appliances. The walls are paper thin so you hear EVERYTHING. The handle on our refrigerator has had to be replaced twice b/c it’s made of cheap plastic and completely broke off. The toilet seat has had to be replaced/repaired 3 times b/c again it’s made of cheap plastic and the tub is so small an adult can’t fit to even take a bath in it. There is only one light fixture for the kitchen, living room and dining room combined and its located in the kitchen. We have had electrical issue in our unit since day one. Whenever I cook it causes some type of surge in our unit and knocks the power out in the living/dining room and bedroom…and the list goes on. Parking has been an issue from day one and has progressively gotten worse. If we come home after 7p we can forget about finding parking anywhere near our building. Often we have to park 3 or 4 buildings away and walk to our apartment or park in one of the handicap spaces. The leasing office is aware of this issue as multiple tenants have complained however they have done nothing to try to resolve it. Instead they have a towing company patrol the premises every night and tow any vehicles improperly parked or parked in handicap spaces without a decal. The valet trash service is a joke and not worth the $20 a month we are forced to pay for it. They will fine you $15 for every little thing, without warning including; putting the trash out too early, leaving the trash out too long, putting more than 2 bags out, using the wrong bags, not putting the trash on top of the trash can, and putting the trash out on a day the valet trash doesn’t run. Sometimes they won’t even collect the trash and they take extended time off without notice, but you still have to pay the full $20 for that month. The people who run and manage this community are rude, lack any level of customer service skills, inconsiderate and they don’t care about their tenants at all. All they care about is money.
I fell in love at first site @ The Gardens at Anthony House. The grounds are beautiful and very well kept. This is a gated community, which was something that was very important to me!! can you believe they have Valet trash, all I have to do is make sure my trash is placed in a provided container outside my door during a specific time and someone comes and get it. Inside the apartment is top notch, Granite counter-tops stainless steel and black appliances, beautiful cabinets, wood blinds, LED track lighting. I have looked so many places to find an apartment with these luxury furnishings and none were up to par until The Gardens. I highly recommend these apartments. You will not regret it!!!
Take your money elsewhere! We were sold when they were so nice, free first month, and told it was 21 and over. But now that we signed, they are rude and their neighborhood is terrible. Everything is made like crap, the office staff is rude beyond rude, and everything breaks. The gym equipment is always breaking, the gates are always broken. The walls are so thin you can hear a neighbor sniffle. Neighbors are loud all the time. Security takes over an hour to get to you when you call. There’s no parking. But customer service is the worst!! They have an excuse for everything and try to put it back on you. During a system update they tried to make me feel dumb about the new payment system. Absolutely terrible!! Save yourself some grief and don’t bother looking!
Management lacks serious customer service skills and problem ownership. I requested to speak with the office manager after my apartment flooded despite having had two work orders in and having maintenance come by to repair the kitchen sink on two separate occasions over the time span of a week. The manager stated she was unavailable and that she would give me a call. 48 hours later, I still have not received a call back from the office. Management does not seem to care about its tenants, nor the conditions of their apartments. However, they still expect you to pay top dollar for subpar services.
The lay out of the apartments are really nice and the landscaping is also kept up really nice.. But I've only been living here 3 weeks and I must say it is very noisy here at night, cars are coming in out of the property all time of night with car stereo playing very loudly! People are also at the office house late at night, during the week & weekends sitting on the porch talking, laughing & cussing, very loudly disputing the peace, there is absolutely no respect for the other tenants that live here, who has to get up early for work the next morning. If anyone is looking for a peaceful quite community I would not recommend this community.
This place is complete garbage. I hope by reading this some people will choose not to live here and save themselves the trouble.
DEAL BREAKER- You can smoke inside the apartments. If you don’t smoke count on being able to smell cigarettes smoke in your apartment. I can smell smoke inside the washing machine and if I leave my clothes in the dryer too long after the dry time they come out smelling like cigarette smoke. I can also smell the smoke in my kitchen and other random spots wear it creeps through the vents. I have called maintenance about this issue and was told that there is nothing that they can do as smoke comes through insulation. Management offered to move me to a smoke free allergen building, but incurring the moving costs for me when I know I am not going to renew my lease doesn’t really make sense. I also petitioned to the higher management company to be let out of my lease early, but was told that smells aren't a reason to break a lease. Try telling that to the thousands of people negatively impacted from second and third hand smoke each year. Clearly Signature Property Group does not give two craps about the tenants that live in their apartments. FYI- I would have moved into that building at first, but again…it was additional cost. In my mind it would make sense to pay more to be able to smoke in a building verses having to pay more not to smell it. I asked about moving out completely, but it would be over $1600 to break my lease. Accordingly I have to avoid washing in evening and on the weekends when the cigarette smoke smell is strongest until I can move without financial penalty which is a bummer.
First off, I do like the layout of the apartments. It's really nice set up with the updated kitchens and spacious, open living rooms. The bedrooms are huge and so are the closets. The walls and ceilings are paper thin which I really kind of expected from a cookie cutter apartment but the real problem is that the location of the Gardens attract a certain crowd that honestly does not respect the idea of quiet. Noise complaints like partying are usually handled quickly by the patrol but the constant thundering of the Great Dane running above you isn't a priority for the office staff. There is too much turnover at the front office for anything to really stick anyway. If you are a light sleeper you are going to be in a world of frustration here. Speaking of location. Not a super safe area. I wouldn't go to the grocery store nearby after dusk. Especially since you're not going to find a parking spot coming back. The lot is TINY. Two stars for the surface appeal of the Signature Properties but honestly, in this location, it's putting lipstick on a pig.
We just recently moved in and we have had a great experience so far. It's our first luxury apartment. The workers are really helpful.
The apartments are decent for the price. Expect to pay more than the rent. Management raises rent every year with no incentive and no explanation! They also charge $20 a month for trash" and they pick up the trash about once a week instead of Sunday-Thursday. If you refer someone you are supposed to be rewarded $200 off one months rent, that's what I have been told every since I moved in 2 years ago. However they refuse to take the money off rent even after I referred 2 people and they moved in. Front office does not operate by the hours posted, so call ahead if you need to go there. Ceiling and walls are super thin, you can hear a lot of others noise.
I've lived here for little over 2 years, the office staff has changed several times but the current staff (Mason) are wonderful and very helpful. The amenities are the best I seen at any other place...at a reasonable price. The location is great....especially for someone who likes the quiet life. It's secluded but close to major highways, downtown, and other shopping places. The only issue I have is some of the pet owners not cleaning up after their pets. Would recommend the Gardens to others.
