Property Ratings at Gardens of Traville
Management changed here a couple of years ago and not for the better. Poor communication, unfriendly, long waits and repeated calls for maintenance. The only elevator in one building was out for weeks with little or no help from the property. This is a senior community, and yes, it’s independent living, but some people are independent with a walker or a scooter and most cannot do 3 flights of stairs with their groceries. The way they handled it was a disgrace. Management is uncaring where they used to be kind and engaged. Sad.
The Management staff is superb. Alexa and James go above and beyond to meet and exceed our needs in every aspect. Even during Covid, the staff handled and communicated with us all in a way that made us feel safe, secure and loved. Alexa does an excellent job planning and executing events for us, the bus never stopped being available and housekeeping did a phenomenal job disinfecting and even used a steam gun to kill all germs. This is truly a family and not your average apartment community. They really care for us here.

This is a warm and friendly property that is convenient to shopping, restaurants, hospitals, doctors, etc. But what makes this place “special” is the Management Team and Staff. Alexa and James set the tone and have created a warm and friendly environment to make each resident feel “at home”. Their door is open to ideas and concerns. In addition to Alexa and James, another staff member, Victor, drives the bus to provide transportation to various community activities, doctor appointments, etc., and our maintenance staff is accommodating and caring. Overall, I am happy to call this place home.

The property needs many upgrades. It has original appliances in most of the apartments, only about 15% of the units have new appliances. The amenities are old (club room and lounges still have original furniture, 17 years old). The maintenance staff is very inconsistent. Very few outdoor amenities.

Management always has excellent maintenance men available for work in and around our apartments and they do excellent work and are very personable and professional at the same time. Having this kind of help means for sure I would recommend this apartment community to family and friends!

I ALWAYS recommend this community to friends. Traville is a great place to live and the outward community has everything you could want or need within a 5 to a 10-minute radius.
The staff is second to none....if my parents did not need assisted living, they would have stayed forever. My mom keeps saying "how much longer til I can go back to my apt.?" You all are the best!!!
the community and the staff seem very nice. I felt that the apartment we saw seemed a little small.
The location, the cost the staff is wonderful apartment is beautiful
Though I've only been here a month, I would not hesitate to recommend this Senior Community, because of the proximity to the places needed to fulfill you basic needs i.e Giant Grocery store, UPS, restaurants, etc..
Garden of Traville is a great place to live. Management is great. They are very courteous, always helpful, respond to situations very promptly.they give you all the time you need to resolve any situation. Our neighbors are nice. We care close to restaurants, supermarkets, dry cleaners, churches. My husband and I are very happy here.
I like where I live and the professional staff is very kind dedicated and help the tenants
Because I think the existence of relevant services and activities for older individuals are very important. Although I have not used any services or become involved in any of the activities available, I am glad that they are there. Because at some time I may want or need to use them. Also the pleasant and courteous staff has been important. I have no reason at this time to not recommend the community.
Management is very responsive to my needs.Maintenance personnel are skilled in their job and I have never been disappointed in them.
The staff seems to be very professional and has a good understanding of the needs of those of advanced age in an apartment community.
I have lived here for almost two years and have enjoyed both my apartment and the activities here. The bus transportation to a variety of locations is great since I no longer have a car.
It is a beautiful place, even though I find it difficult for newcomers to meet co-residents. The management is great and spite of the delay in completing the service requests, the interaction with the maintenance personnel has been very pleasant.
I am comfortable living here People are friendly and helpful Location very convenient However, please read last question
James and his team are SECOND TO NONE! We adore them...they even sang Happy birthday and gave Betty balloon for her 88th bday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would very likely recommend Traville Gardens because it?s a great place to live. James and Victor are exceptionally kind. They always try to meet the needs of the tenants. No matter how small are large. The environment is great everything is close. It?s a great place to live.
We adore everyone there. James is a flat out superstar and is so good to my parents :-) :-) he is a blessing
I would recommend it to my fellow senior citizen friends for a comfortable, nice place to live with lots of friendly people and staff. There are problems like less than acceptable communication links at times between staff and residents which could be improved upon and limited parking spaces.
I recommend the property all the time because it's the best place in Montgomery County for citizens over 62 to live and thrive!
This is a great place to live. Everything is wonderful and so are the people. James made everything so easy. He is so kind so patient. I would definitely recommend Traville Gardens.
I would recommend. The community is very friendly and there is a lot of interaction between the residents. Management is very helpful.
We adore that apartment community and love that they have the shuttle bus too. It would be AWESOME if the bus could make a run to Gaithersburg Presbyterian Church on Sunday mornings :):)
Well I like the layout and the conveniences close by. I like the free shuttle which I need to make more use of. The apartment has checked out great and everything works great.
The location is terrific and the apartments are beautiful. There are apartment options for both people on a tight budget and people capable of paying market rents. The staff are hardworking and responsive. For people who don't drive or get out much, there's a senior bus and there are a variety of activities Most of the people I know aren't quite ready for senior living, however, even if they are eligible. They still want to live among people of all ages, and some still have younger people living with them; like me, many adopted children in their 50s, and still have college students who spend some of their time with their parents. At least one of my friends has been doing renovations on her home, and her goal -- which she has the means to achieve -- is to age in place, the way her own parents did in suburban New York, before they passed away. So active adult apartments aren't for everyone, but they make a great option for folks who would prefer to spend their time with other seniors, have a quiet lifestyle, need a little help to go shopping or to other activities, and don't want the hassles of home ownership or life in a mixed age apartment building that is not geared to senior issues. To those people, I'd definitely recommend Gardens of Traville. Having seen a few other senior buildings, I must say that Gardens of Traville has them all beat.
