Property Ratings at The Gentrys Landing Apartments
Love this place! Great views from upper units. Large windows let plenty of light in. Kitchens aren’t a sad cubby like some studio apartments have. Maintenance is out quick for repairs. Management upgrades and repairs the building as needed. Balconies are BIG. Utilities aren’t because the windows are well sealed and building is insulated. Public transit’s nearby so are a few corner shops, a Schnucks, some food places, a movie theater, urgent care, dentists. Gets noisy when there’s a sportball or people drive crazy down 4th or the highway. Rent was stable until a few years ago. Goes up often now. Signed a year lease after they raised it twice in a 6 month span. Increases are because they maintain the place. Elevators and plumbing have issues but are repaired and repairs are communicated.
I lived at Gentry's Landing for a little over 2 years. The leasing office staff is nothing short of fantastic. Anything you ever need - they are there for you to get things done in a timely matter! The maintenance staff was great with getting maintenance requested done very quickly. A couple maintenance staff members made me feel a little uncomfortable but thats a very small aspect of my experience.
To begin with Lexie in the leasing office tolerated my emails for 4 months! She was very attentive to my needs and concerns because I was traveling in from out of state and renting sight unseen. When I arrived she met me with a welcoming smile, took me to my apartment to allow me see it and sign my lease. When I stepped off of the elevator on my floor I was pleasantly surprised at the brightness, cleanliness and decor in the hallway. Everyone from the maintenance men to the front desk were cordial ,inviting and seemed to know who I was. That was a plus after driving across country and moving in sight unseen. St Louis is my home but I have lived in several other cities and wanted to make The Gentry's Landing and downtown my last stop. The tenants are very friendly. The parking garage is safe. Home Sweet Home
Gentry’s Landing is amazing. Convenient location the nicest people you will ever meet excellent views and the friendly staff in St. Louis.
we just moved here from San Antonio Tx. Love the building. great location to everything that is downtown. we are about 2.5 blocks from the arch. and there is a small grocery about 2.5 blocks east from the apartment. you can walk everywhere. the metro is right around the corner. We got the 2/2 city view and it is great. love the floor plan. big windows in the living room with the lights out at night it is beautiful to look out over the city. the dining room has a great view too. only down fall i would say is that the laundry room is small for the building. they need to take the exercise room out from down there and put in more washers and dryers. that would be the only bad thing. other then that it is all me and my partner could ask for.
I have lived at Gentry's Landing for 6 months now and I love every minute of it. I have never had any issues with noise and the neighbors are friendly and polite. The staff took the time to find me the apartment of my dreams, a 1br convertible with a balcony overlooking the river, Arch grounds and the city. Gentry's Landing is very secure with 24/7 door staff and locked entrances, even my parents approved. The summertime is the best when I can spend hours on the rooftop pool and on my balcony or walk a few blocks to a Cardinals game. In the winter, I get enough light that I don't need to use the heat and I save a lot of money on electricity. My one and only complaint .... parking. I knew about it when I moved in, but I never thought it would be this much of an issue for me. Asking someone to come over and pay $20 to park is a quick way to lose friends, so I have to go pick them up from a free parking area each and every time which is a huge hassle. I would probably stay here for many years if the parking wasn't $90 a month and expensive for guests. Overall, my experience has been very positive and I would recommend living here to anyone.
My experience at Gentry's couldn't be any sweeter! From being greeted by name by the door staff that come to feel like family, security cameras on every floor, on-site laundry and fitness facilities, rooftop pool and sauna, secure parking garage and newly renovated (and amazingly affordable apartments), it is not about why you should live at Gentry's but rather, why not?! When I started my search for an apartment, I was overwhelmed. On my budget, I was met with extremely small, unsafe and income limited apartments. I called Gentry's to schedule an appointment to see some of their available units and not only did they get me in that day but they also stayed late to accommodate my schedule. After showing me numerous layouts and views, I was amazed at the size of their apartments for the price!! I was so excited to not only find a newly renovated apartment that I could afford but also one with as many amenities as Gentry's offers. I moved into Gentry's just over 1 week later. My arch & river view apartment was spotless and ready to make my own on the day I moved in. I woke up the next day and I couldn't have been more at home. Everyone on the amazing staff at Gentry's seemed to know my name and went above and beyond to make me comfortable. The door attendants check in all packages and they are stored away until you pick them up. The main door is secure and all guests have to be cleared by the front desk before they are allowed up. As a single woman living in the city, between that and the numerous security cameras on every floor I felt very safe. Young and old and from all over the world, the building tenants are as diverse as you could ever imagine and in such a large building, you will not believe how fast you get to know everyone and how quickly they start to feel like family. It is so easy to feel alone in the city and at Gentry's a simple elevator ride to the Lobby will take all of that away. It is always social hour in the Lobby and the conversation is sure to entertain. If you are looking for downtown living with a down-to-earth atmosphere, look no further than Gentry's!
Gentry's Landing is a diverse population building. Tenants are from all over the world. The location is in the heart of downtown St. Louis. Management is superb! My particular apartment has a view of the Mississippi River, the Arch and the Four Seasons which has a very large illuminated light sign. I have a lot of windows and light.
Great security and breathtaking balcony views of the river and Arch makes my 2 bed/2bath apartment a sweet deal for downtown living...floor to ceiling windows allow for beautiful sunlight and a sense of being connected to the outside. However, obviously being downtown space is a factor, and there is only so much one can do with 1300 sq. ft! But the rent per size ratio certainly beats downtown LA or Manhattan living prices. Bathrooms are small and units are not washer/dryer equipped but there is a laundry facility on premises which allows you to meet your neighbors. The 29 story building also offers a seasonal rooftop pool, observation deck, indoor sauna, business center, two fitness centers and onsite cleaners. Sitting almost equidistant between the Edward Jones Dome and Busch Stadium, you're bound to discover someone new and find excitement the minute you walk out of your door!
My 2 month stay at The Gentry's Landing was great. The furnished apartment was newly renovated and was clean from top to bottom. All of the appliances worked perfectly and I enjoyed cooking without any problems. The pool was nice and clean as was the observation deck. The staff were genuine and very helpful, thank you Sonja, Sheri and Paul. The price was cost effective and once I found my way around gaining access to/from the building I felt a bit more comfortable. Downside is limited, cable television was intermittent requiring it to be powered off/on several times before it reestablished itself. Outside loitering was a hindrance to the building, mostly in the evening. Overall a great place to stay long or short term
I just wanrt to take a few minutes to share my positive experience with living at the Gentry's Landing. I love it here. I have lived here for more than 3 years. I started out in a studio and now have an awesome oversized 1 bedroom on a higher floor. Overlooking the Mississippi River, Laclede's Landing, The Edward Jones Dome and the Arch. Breathtaking view every day and every night. Rain, Snow, Fog. Downtown living here is not NY or Chicago or LA. Sure traffic is loud with the windows open but I knew that before I chose to live here. Close the windows and it is quite peaceful.Of course there is traffic but it is downtown living at it's finest.Truly is. I am sure my review is not the first you have read but I have nothing to complain about, NOTHING! The staff here are warm, friendly and helpful.Maintenance is top notch! You have a problem and it is addressed quickly and professionally. The property is always clean or being cleaned. Every elevator and hallway are cleaned often enough to notice. Laundry room, excersie rooms, community and business areas are a plus, convenience store right next door, dry cleaners right in the lobby. Plenty of restaurants in walking distance, and of course the Arch! My car is my prize and it is safe in the temperature controlled underground garage.( sure is nice to get in a warm car in winter without scrapping snow and ice of it, adn it sure is nice getting in a cool car in teh blazing summer heat. Security in the garage is great and so is the lobby, I feel safe and secure. I highly recommend living here and I am glad I am. Give it a try won't you?
The management was nice, warm, and welcoming. The tour was great. I was impressed and applied that day. Saw a few other locations downtown, but the Gentry Landing ftr my needs best! I am now one of its newest tenents. Marshall
