Ann Arbor's Georgetown neighborhood is located directly north of the Georgetown Country Club, extending north to Marlborough Drive, with Packard Street forming the eastern border. Perfectly located, Georgetown provides fast access to the University of Michigan, the University of Michigan-South Campus, Michigan Stadium (the historic football stadium known as the "Big House" -- go, Wolverines!), Briarwood Mall, and Downtown Ann Arbor, roughly two miles north. This beautiful neighborhood is also close to several parks, including Mary Beth Doyle Park, which offers a disc golf course, a basketball court, and hiking trails, and Buhr Park, a 29-acre park featuring a swimming pool and wading pool, picnic areas, ball fields, and tennis courts. It is also home to the Buhr Outdoor Ice Arena and Cross Country Ski Center, ideal for winter activities like skiing, ice skating, and hockey.

Property Ratings at The George
I have been living in The George for over 2 years, but due to several critical issues, I am planning to relocate to a new apartment in Northern Ann Arbor. CONS: One major drawback is the excessive noise from the floors. The apartment lacks sound-absorbing flooring, making it very noisy whenever neighbors walk, jump, or talk. This issue contrasts with other new apartments in North Ann Arbor that have sound-absorbing wood floors, as reported by my friends. What's worse, the Community Manager, who oversees the entire apartment complex, has not responded to my emails for several months. This lack of communication and huge noise have significantly disrupted my sleep and work routine, so I spend more time at my partner’s apartment. The manager only seemed prompt in responding to emails regarding lease renewals, neglecting other resident concerns. Additionally, the area experienced very frequent power outages last winter (5-6 times), ranging from 2 to 4 days per outage, which is uncommon compared to other areas where my friends live, where power outages occurred only once or twice. I had to throw away all foods, drove through snow blizzard/snow storms (Very dangerous), and stayed in my partner’s apartment. Minor issues include the shower booth floor being difficult to clean leading to quick mold buildup, noisy air conditioning units, and numerous stains in the hallways. PROS: The maintenance staff and janitors are friendly and helpful. The maintenance team went above and beyond to assist me when I had issues with my air conditioner, unlike the community manager. The apartment complex features a nice pool and ample parking spaces. Being relatively new, it also includes in-unit washer/dryer and basic appliances.

Thank you for your feedback. We truly value your input, as it helps us identify areas for improvement. We apologize for the noise and communication issues you've experienced, as well as the power outages, which are certainly inconvenient. Your concerns will be shared with our management team for further review. We're glad to hear that you've had positive experiences with our maintenance staff and amenities. Have a nice day.
I have lived here for 2 months and this is the second time the fire alarm system has been triggered in the middle of the night. The sound is so loud that we have to RUN down 5 flights of stairs so that our dog’s hearing isn’t permanently damaged. If you live here, you should absolutely expect this to happen to you. Apparently it’s a huge issue that never gets fixed (even though we were ensured it wouldn’t happen again after the first time). But this is just par for the course for the George Apartments, who fail to meet expectations in just about every imaginable way.

Joseph, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you've experienced. We understand how disruptive alarms can be. We aim to provide a comfortable living experience for all our residents at The George, and it's clear that we've fallen short in this instance. Please do reach out to us at (833) 786-6672 or thegeorge@haymanco.com so we can better assist you with your concerns.
Management cares only about making money and neglect cleanliness and community values. Their trash shoots are always broken, stairways are dirty (dog poop smeared & feline urine left to dry,) and barbeque is caked with grease and will need a match to light it. When I brought this to management's attention, they had no urgency to resolve or find a solution to be proactive in the future- they just threw excuse after excuse and would place blame on residence (true story - I think they forgot their in the customer service business). Expect your rent to increase after a year, apartments increased 150% from 2021 to 2022. The George is NOT luxury, it's mediocre at best.

Needed to ask for rental verification from the current landlord on our own. Needed to prove monthly income of 3.5×the rent. Only had two days for holding the apartment. None of the requirements were mentioned before applying. Once gathered all documents, being told the rent just went up by $200. It is a very interesting way of management.

It's never our intention to mislead our future residents, and we apologize for the inconvenience. Additionally, we try to be as up front as possible about our documentation requirements as possible. AC didn’t work during July move in & had to call 2 more times to fix. Apartments are noisy and can hear every footstep from upstairs. Most recently, fobs don’t work for outside entry. Building fire alarm goes off every time someone burns something and opens front door.

very loud and noisy apartment, electricity bill is unusually high for such small floor plans, cold showers, bad management, dog poop everywhere, tight parking spaces, everything is always broken, no retail shops have opened, packages are always getting stolen, elevators smell weird.
