Situated just outside northwest D.C., Bethesda is a welcoming community that’s perfect for renters who appreciate variety. The shopping, dining, and entertainment scenes on the east side of Bethesda are remarkably extensive, with everything from first-rate art galleries to trendy nightclubs and a truly staggering selection of restaurants.
Between the culinary diversity of Woodmont Triangle, and the retail center that is the Collection at Chevy Chase, Bethesda residents are seldom without entertainment. The city is also bordered by countless parks, golf courses, and mixed-use green spaces, adding to the already vibrant landscape that surrounds the homes and apartments in the region.
The broader community is a fairly quiet collective of suburban neighborhoods, boasting top-notch schools, a low crime rate, and public parks of every size and description. With Washington just a short drive or Metro ride away, it’s easy to see why Bethesda is one of the most popular places for D.C.

Property Ratings at The Glens on Battery Lane
Poor living conditions. Mice and roaches, management claims they’re calling the pest control and they never come/came. Do not move here if you care about your well-being, there’s mold in the bathrooms and instead of them dealing with the issue, they paint over the mold. Management? A joke! During move-out they don’t know what they are doing so, they overcharge you by trying to take your deposit. The only good thing about this place is that, it’s walking distance to many restaurants, grocery stores, parks etc. but I’d rather sleep in my car than to move here!
Great location, terrible living conditions. The building has ongoing severe bed bug and cockroach infestations. There are also spontaneous incidents like bursting pipes; it happened recently and flooded the hallway and some units. More chronically, nearly nonexistent insulation will make it very hot in the summer or cold in the winter (and let you hear all the neighbors). Management is very slow at addressing any issues. They try to tell you that upper/regional management will reach out but it is just their way to procrastinate. Do NOT live here.
Decent location close to downtown and many restaurants. Rent is competitive with the area but building quality does not reflect it.
We are from out of state and Adolfo made the leasing process very smooth. He was was knowledgeable and friendly. The apartments also have great hard wood floors and a location in Bethesda that you can't beat. It's very close to the NIH.
We have not moved in yet, but Adolfo went above and beyond for us. For an apartment to have such amazing staff at their forefront, it really makes a wonderful first impression on tenants. He made sure he answered all of my questions and we had all the details worked out before ending the call. Everything was an easy process, the only caveat is that payments cannot be made online — they must be mailed in/delivered in the form of a check. I hope the leasing office adjusts this in the future, but no worries if not.
I have not moved in yet, but the touring and signing processes were both great; Adolfo was very helpful, we showed up without a scheduled tour and he still found this time to accommodate us and educate us on the property. He answered all of our questions thoroughly and gave us all our options. The place is a but pricy but the location is definitely worth it, and the staff seems like they will be helpful! So far, so good.
This building had parking, live in amenities, shops are close etc. price is same as most apartments in the area. building is older. management is hard to get a hole of, but for the most part friendly, unless you have a problem or you did something wrong. some of the other tenants can be kind of creepy.
The location can’t be beat. You’re just a few away from the grocery and restaurants. The staff are very friendly and responsive, especially Adolfo who was always willing to answer questions I may have. Best of all, maintenance requests are performed in a timely manner.

Thank you for such great feedback! We are happy to hear that you have been enjoying your home at The Glens on Battery Lane and the service provided by Adolfo. Mary Alice Haft - Sr. Community Manager
Experience was just what I needed. I only needed a short term lease due to my job relocation and they were able to help me out. Adolfo was able to make time for me with no notice to show me around and was very informative about my space and everything. Super nice guy also (would recommend him if you need someone). He would also call and follow up on how my move was going as well as once I was there for a week or so on how I liked it. I will say that after living in Montgomery county for a while, there is no better deal for the size and price of the space. Only thing I wished was different was the distance to the metro station but the bus comes right out front if it’s a rainy day and the Starbucks on the way is a great stop on a nice day. Access to restaurants and the grocery store is such an upside of living here too!! If I wasn’t relocating for work, I could definitely see this being a long term place for me to stay.

This apartment is the most affordable in the area and it is for very good reason. It is built extremely cheap and managed horribly. If you look on the community message board right now there is a wave of complaints from tenants about noise issues they have in the building. Aldon management makes no effort to address those issues and when these issues are brought to their attention it is often with out any response unless you follow up. The walls are paper thin, as are the floors and ceilings. You hear your neighbors dogs, you hear when they let their front door close a little too much, you hear their music and television. All because this property was built as cheap as possible, the rent is cheap but it comes with a cost.

Decent size and good location. Terrible management and loud outside. Management is so bad they take you to court for one month rent mid pandemic, they dont respond to anything phone calls or emails that they send lol constant turnover and there's been broken car window glass in the parking lot right outside the leasing office from car break ins that happened 5 months ago, management is well aware and has not cleaned it, they also lied about adding extra security after over 10 cars were broken into. I could go on about how bad the management is but thats a good high level overview
Management will regularly say they are working on something, but never do it until you go to their office multiple times. They backdate all of their correspondence. Hang up on you when they don't feel like responding, and their voicemail is full, so unless you get extremely lucky and reach one of them, your only choice is to go to the leasing office and knock until they realize you aren't going away. One of the staff repeatedly said they were working on writing up a lease renewal, only to give it to me the day I had to sign it. The staff constantly make errors about rent due, due dates, even the apartment you live in.

Do not live here - The walls are paper thin. I can hear and quote exact conversations my neighbors have. Management is slow to respond and never addresses sound issues. Either spend more to live in a building where you can actually sleep at night or move further out - it is worth it.

I have been a resident of 4858 Battery Lane for almost 2 years now. While the location is great and free parking is a bonus, there are NUMEROUS downsides to living in this dump. The trash rooms are on each floor and smell horribly in the hallways. The washers/dryers break down and are rough on clothing. The radiators omit heat even when turned off and thus on days when it is 70 degrees outside, the apartments sometimes get as high as 86 DEGREES even with all the windows open, lights turned off, and electric fans turned on. It is a heat container! My next door neighbor said their apartment (directly over the boiler room) got as high as 92 DEGREES. These conditions are unlivable, and the management company could give a rats a$$ about how livable the apartments are. Trust me that 83 degrees is NOT LIVABLE! While the cheap rent might entice you, GO ELSEWHERE. This management company is terrible and the living conditions are truly abysmal!
One star is one star too many. The only thing Aldon Management can be relied upon for is ducking calls and messages. I have been trying to reach the VP for the past several months, have left multiple messages, have spoken to multiple people at the corporate office, and she continues to duck me. Their tactic of leading you through hoops until you let issues go is grossly transparent and infuriating. Easily the worst management property I've ever had the displeasure of staying at. My 90 year old grandma could run this place better.
I lived in 4998 battery lane, apt.414 for more than a year. It is a large one bed room apartment with free parking. The environment is excellent , there is a lovely park just nearby the apartment. The location is perfect, you just need to walk within 10 mins to the metro station or choose to take the free shuttle to anyplace in Bethesda. Hundreds of restaurants just 5 mins walk to the department, you can taste sushi, burger, pizza, perking duck, and everything you can image in the neighborhood with descent price. Highly recommended to everyone.
Excellent apartment with prefect location. Lots of restaurants nearby and perfect for young couples or the single.
The Glen Dora is an apartment building located in Downtown Bethesda, about a 10-15 minute walk from the Bethesda and Medial Center metro stations. The building is a short walk from Woodmont Triangle and Bethesda Row, where you can find many shops, restaurants, and bars. Rent is incredibly affordable for such a beautiful area and so close to DC. My 2 bedroom apartment is huge and offers all modern amenities. Private parking is offered at no extra cost (which is amazing!), and the maintenance staff have always addressed any issues within 24 hours. The only downside is that the building does not have extra features, such as a gym, an outside patio area, or a pool.
