The city of Williamsburg is like stepping back in time. Well, in the historic district anyway. Founded in 1632, many of the settlement’s original structures still stand today as museums – all of Duke of Gloucester Street is a living history museum.
Because of its long-standing historical significance, tourism has a huge presence in Williamsburg. Other attractions that make up this fully-progressive city include Virginia’s oldest winery as well as a botanical garden.
The College of William and Mary, the nation’s second-oldest school, resides in Williamsburg. Its campus is in walking distance of historic sites, award-winning restaurants, taverns, and boutiques.
Williamsburg residents enjoy a plethora of conveniences, including direct access to major roadways and public transit. For those who enjoy golf, the Golden Horseshoe Golf Course is minutes away from town.

Property Ratings at District At Williamsburg
I love it here. Love all the renovations they have done. Management is on top of stufff. If u talk to them they work with you. I live in one of the renovated apartments and absolutely love it. The new management team is on top of stuff.
There is absolutely no upkeep at this complex. The pool is black and uncovered and it's December. The pool was remodeled this past summer but nobody was even allowed to swim at it. Appliances are all sitting outside. Abandoned cars taking up spots. The laundry room is disgusting. Water everywhere. No outlets in the bathroom. Nobody actually cares about this apartment complex. They just want to collect money and not give a crap about the people living here. It's trash.
Had an appointment for a tour. When I got there, lady coming and say: “come in one hour, I’m on a call”. Really? No apology. Never have had such an unprofessional experience. Would never consider such a place as a new home again!
I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. I can only imagine how much I am going to enjoy the new renovations.

Thank you very much for you positive feed back. We look forward to all the renovations as well.
I've had a good experience with the new management and they're working to improve the facilities and properties. I live in one of the apartments that hasn't been renovated yet and it had a few issues. Andre and the maintenance team have been great, they have fixed every issue within two days of me putting in a maintenance request and are super friendly. I'm happy to live here.

I'm a current resident, of over 2 years, and I couldn't be happier. The new management has been on top of everything and the property is now being renovated! I have the pleasure of living in one of the newly renovated townhomes and it's gorgeous! Quiet, clean, and affordable!

Thank you for your positive feedback. We look forward all the future renovations.
With all the renovations going on in this community is sure to be a winner. We cannot wait until they are completed. Greatly appreciate the office and maintenance staff for the continuing efforts being put forth. The transition of implementing parking stickers, getting rid of unwanted residents who cause trouble is a blessing.

We appreciate you kind words. We are thankful to have residents like you.
I am a current resident residing here. I post this review to inform potential renters that the new management is currently in the process of renovating all of their delapidated units. This may take awhile as progress is slow... Btw, I am not a mean spirited person, just a person who believes that everyone deserves an enjoyable rental experience at a reasonable value. (Trash, bugs/German cockroaches, loud obnoxious behavior and unsightly units are just a few free ammenties that are included when you sign a lease here.)

We are sorry for your experience. We value all suggestions and comments. You are more than welcome to contact the leasing office if you are experiencing issues with in your apartment. We just acquired this property in September. The property is currently under a 100% property renovation. We are renovating the inside of the units. We are updating the laundry rooms, pool, dog park and the play ground. We would be more than happy to discuss with you any other improvements that you believe would be beneficial for the community. I look forward to speaking with you.
I applied for this apartment and received an email saying my application had been accepted. Then I was unable to get ahold of the leasing office by email. I called when my move in date was close and as soon as I said my name was hung up on.

Hello, we are the new ownership company. We took over in September 2021. Please feel free to contact the office if you are interested in one of our apartment homes.
This is the place to be. Near stores, very quit area and safe. I love it there
We live here for over 2 years and love the location and home. We have a 2 floor town-homes which is cozy and warm. Close to highway and work
This community took over $500 from me. I lived at the Grand Village (formerly known as Stonegate Apartments) for three years. While not perfect, the rent was cheap, and I had very few issues with management. However, Starock Management took over ownership of the complex late last year. After that, it was nearly impossible to get a hold of anyone at the leasing office. Even during the so-called working hours, no one ever picks up the phone or returns your voicemails. My lease ran until the middle of June. I was told by management to pay rent for the entire month as I would receive a refund for the days I was not on the lease, to which I complied. As of August 22th, I have not received what I am owed for June nor was I ever advised on whether I would get my security deposit back. I have sent emails and left multiple voicemails to no avail. To avoid falling into a similar trap, I encourage all to stay away from this complex.
Stone gate apartments are a great little community. While the buildings are a little older, and the staff does a great job with repairs and property upkeep.
