Property Ratings at The Greenbrier Apartments
I lived here for about three years (having moved in under the previous owners). The building is old and has not been well maintained over the years. It's drafty, musty, and grimy even in the remodeled units (I had a remodeled unit) The current owners do very basic maintenance and no more. They fix what absolutely needs to be fixed and no more. Electric bills were absurdly high due to outdated and dirty systems. The landlords are difficult to get ahold of and don't seem to show up to their posted office hours. They are more than happy to just ignore anything they don't feel like fixing. After moving out they never returned my security deposit or provided an itemized deduction in the 45 day timeframe legally required. They've simply ignored my attempts at contacting them over the issue, so I'll have to take them to court. The apartments themselves are decent size, but poorly laid out. The kitchen is horrendous to try to cook in. There's some shady characters hanging around. Loud music, shouting, ect. Aside from the occasional solicitor, I wasn't harassed. I'm pretty sure one of my neighbors was a drug dealer, though. Cars of non residents coming and going at all hours. Only staying for a few minutes. People running out to meet them and going back inside. It felt suspicious but I just kept to myself. The cops came around every once in a while. Overall, I was happy enough living there but would have definitely left if moving wasn't such a hassle. I still wouldn't recommend it or these landlords to anyone.
