Living in this The Greenway at Carol Stream apartment complex has been a fantastic experience. The maintenance is excellent, ensuring everything is in top-notch condition. The spacious car parking is a big plus, and being centrally located in the shopping area is incredibly convenient. The management services are commendable, providing a smooth living experience. The buildings and rooms are consistently clean, creating a welcoming environment. The swimming pool and grill area are delightful amenities that we thoroughly enjoy. We love calling this place home!

I’ve lived here since 2016, and I’ve been so happy with The Greenway of Carol Stream! The management is excellent, proactive, responsive, and attentive. The grounds, buildings and property in general are well cared for, and the maintenance staff is quick, polite, and thorough. Safe complex—next to CSPD. Great location!

It’s been such a pleasure here at the greenway. It’s so peaceful. All the shopping stores and mall are near by. The green way properties are well kept all the time . The staff is awesome the maintenance team is wonderful and all around I’m happy to be a tenant here at the green way. With such great experience. Overall I would recommend the greenway to any one

I have been here just under a year and am very happy here. They have made several improvements since I've moved, staff is always friendly and helpful and maintenence is on top of things.

After living in a one-bedroom apartment for over 6 years, I am very satisfied with my decision to rent an apartment at The Greenway complex. The apartment is spacious at 800square feet. The building is well maintained and the grounds are beautifully landscaped. Most importantly, the building and surrounding area is peaceful and quiet. Being located close to the Carol Stream Police Department , there is high security in the area. Living here is also stress-free as all maintenance requests are responded to with alacrity— usually serviced within 2 hours . There is a wealth of amenities to make living pleasant. This includes a fitness center, sparkling swimming pool, two outdoor Pavilions with nice furniture, Grill Stations and a Fire Pit. To top off everything, there is a friendly and helpful ma agent office for the complex. All in all, the apartments aThe Greenway Is A Great Place To Live. Arun Midha

$260 application fee is terrible! Spent 5 days sending my information & in the end, it wasn’t enough. Transferring from California to Illinois & the leasing office thinks i won’t make the same or more pay to pay for housing. Who moves over 2000 miles to a cheaper state & can’t afford housing! Income verification only takes downloaded PDF files which every site doesn’t have, so keep that in mind. So yeah, no screenshots or scanned documents. I say no, don’t waste your time. All the information imputed on the application is for nothing. There are more steps & dozen of phone calls after. With all this being said, don’t waste your time or money. $260 for nothing!

After selling our home and looking extensively for another, it was decided to rent an apartment. We looked at several places in Dupage County, the Greenway Apartments, in Carol Stream was suggested. Now, 30 plus years later I continue to live in the Greenway Apartments and enjoying it more and more. Yes, I am asked often why? My answer is always the same.....It's "my" home. The office staff and maintenance treat me like I'm a person and not an object. If a problem arises, I call the office and the situation is addressed as expeditiously as possible. If not, I receive a call from our office informing me when the situation will be resolved and why there is a delay, Additionally, the complex is kept clean (look at our halls and stairways). Our complex including the residential areas experience improvements yearly. This includes the parking lot pavement, laundry area, kitchen and bathroom updates just to name a few things. This is why I call the Greenway Apartments my HOME. Sincerely, M. Jones

The Greenway at Carol Stream has truly been a home! It's being home, but also on vacation at the same time with the relaxing environment. The atmosphere of the Greenway Apartment Homes (I called it my home apartment, instead) is truly amazing with the wonderful office and maintenance staff to compliment the whole circle of home apartment living. Communication with office staff (Laura, Christine, Cheryl, and Meghan) have been great from the time I first looked at the home apartment to now, a year later of renewing my lease. No matter what your lifestyle, you will fit right in. The home apartments are generously spacious (room size, closets), including the openness to enjoy the views of the grounds outside, without actually being outside....although, there's a nice patio to enjoy as well! The amenities of the pool and fitness facilities are right here on the property to enjoy as well, with other amenities within a short distance. My first impressions are still the "same impressions, even better than what I expected". Glad this is the home that I decided on!

Great location. Well kept complex, repairs are always done in a timely manner. Kids are in a safe environment. Neighbors are nice. Staff is wonderful, especially Laura and Christine. I would recommend the Greenway to anyone looking for a nice, clean and peaceful place to live.

The Greenway is a nice place to stay. It is quiet and clean. when something is wrong it doesn't take them long to fix the problem. it is kid-friendly and my daughter loves the pool in the summer. The police station is nearby which makes me feel safe. There are plenty of shopping centers, grocery stores, car washes and entertainment nearby that makes it convenient for families.

I have called the Greenway home for over ten years now. Every few years I research and look into other properties in the area but always find that Greenway offers the best value for your rent. Situated in the heart of Carol Stream (the police station/village hall is 100 ft away), commuters have easy access to both I-355 and I-390 and ample parks, a library, and local eateries all within walking distance. The property itself is always being upgraded and maintained. Just recently they redid the landscaping to a beautiful effect. Animals like rabbits, birds, and squirrels peacefully hang around the units (I had two birds on my patio that I swear were chirping at me daily that it was their place). They also improved drainage by installing gorgeous stone spillways that I love watching when it rains. We were also recently upgraded with AT&T fiber optics to the apartment which I love for my internet access. The parking lots have more than enough spots, are well lit, and well maintained with daily garbage clean up and yearly repairs. There is also an superb pool, the tennis courts were just redone, and there is an exercise room and community office, should you need it. Finally, the communal laundry rooms are finished and clean: no scariness, and you use a convenient smart card that you load with cash at the office up to 24 hrs a day. The rental office will also receive packages for you too and the staff is wonderfully thoughtful and responsive. I don't have pets but people who own pets seem to love this place. I think they even put bag poles and bins out for the waste. The units themselves vary in luxury and amenities, so at any given time you'll have different options. I rent one of the un-upgraded units and it suits me just fine. Anytime I have maintenance issues (any apartment will have a few) they are handled quickly and professionally. The maintenance staff is top-notch friendly too. Other places may offer you more upsides to their property, but the Greenway has no downsides if you catch my drift.

The Greenway has been my home for the last sixteen years, and it has been perfect for many reasons. The apartments offer great space; a two-bedroom is comparable in floor space to some starter homes. The facilities and amenities are well maintained, and the staff is both cordial and efficient. Maintenance requests are handled promptly, and emergency maintenance can be reached at any time. When I have had need of such assistance, someone has arrived within about a half hour. In real estate, they always say, "Location, Location, Location." The Greenway is about five minutes south of a major shopping hub, and about half a mile north of another important street. The number of stores, restaurants and other services available within fifteen or twenty minutes' travel is substantial. Our own parking is plentiful, but for those in need of access to public transportation, we are across the street from a bus stop and about fifteen minutes away from the Wheaton Metra station.

It’s going to be my second year living here and it’s a perfect place to call home. The staff is awesome ,very helpful and friendly. Maintenance is always on top of things. They show up quickly and work very professionally. They are respectful of your property and home. The neighborhood is clean and quiet. Parking lots are also always clean. There’s plenty of shopping plazas, libraries, parks and grocery stores surrounding the area which are only a few minutes away. Only have good things to say about the greenway apartments.

The grounds, pool, hallways, and the laundry area are all immaculate. The neighbors are quiet and office staff is very friendly. Even though the pool looks small for the grounds, its very available to enjoy and never full. Best apartment Ive lived in and I am happy living here. I highly recommend renting here.

I’ve been a resident here for over 3 years now and love it. I love that I’m able to go to the gyms 24 hours or whenever I want. Maintenance is always on top of any problem you may have in your apartment. It’s a nice place to live. I have no complaints.

I have been there going on 3 years and the property is well kept, safe, feels like home and maintenance is exceptional. I am happy with the location walking distance to school for both middle and grade schools. Activities are close and access to shopping is very convenient. I couldn’t ask for more other than 3 bedrooms. However the master bedrooms in the 2 bedrooms are so spacious it makes up for it. Thank you

This is my first apartment I have lived in and it was actually the first place I even looked at, I fell in love with it right away! It has everything I need and the pool and fitness center are a huge bonus. I really enjoy living here at the greenway community. Great place to live!

We have had nothing but a great experience in our last year here at the Greenway. The staff are very friendly, helpful, and responsive, and the units are nice and clean. Maintenance is very timely in responding to requests. Never have had an issue here!

I have been living here for about 5 years now. The office staff is amazing and will go out if their way to help you with whatever you need. Since Laura the office manager took over a few years ago it has been even better. Cheryl is also awesome!!They are all wonderful!!Whenever you have a maintenance request they are out there next day. The apartment is super cozy and quiet. My daughter loves it too. She calls it our house:) She is 8 and loves to visit the office staff on a daily basis. The grounds are very well kept unlike most complexes I see in the area. I cant believe some of the reviews on here. Parking is outstanding as well as I'm only a few steps from my door.If you are looking to live in Carol stream this is the spot and I can vouch 100%!!! Greenway rocks!!!

Apartment hunting isn't fun. We checked out a lot of places and were treated poorly at all of them except Greenway. If you want to rent out your apartments, you should probably treat people well! The saleslady was very nice and informative, though being new she left a few things out. We were filled in with the rest of the information when we came back (I checked it out first without the hubs). It's also quite nice with their 3 levels of renovations. There's a basic (white apps & vinyl floor), mid (black apps & tile), and upscale (steel & wood) so to speak. The rest of each apartment had all new paint and carpet. That's a lot more than the other places that we looked at! We chose the mid-level with an in-unit stackable washer/dryer. Obviously, price varies by level and the WD adds to that. Since we've moved in, we've put in a few maintenance tickets. Nothing seriously major, but things that we want to make sure that we aren't responsible for or that we have to fix. The big one was that the gas oven was off by 25 degrees and I asked that it be re-calibrated. First, they come the next day. They said they ordered a part and it would be fixed the second day. Then they determined the part wouldn't fix it, so we got a new oven within a few days of the start! Every time they have been fast and efficient! The amenities also make the experience. The staff has been friendly. This being the first apartment I've ever lived in (rented and owned homes), I'll take it for what it is so far!

I had a very bad experience with Greenway located at Carol Stream. I have stayed for a year with these guys, first when you wanted to make a contract they were very good looking but at the end they tried to use some tricks to make us stay there. according to our contract we had to notice 2 month ahead if we wanted to leave, 2 month before my contract would be over I went to the office and they made some tricks to not to tell me the truth and just make me keep staying there, after 2 weeks I told them my final decision but they made me to pay $1250 as fine (my regular rent was $890). They are not honest, if you are going to sign the contract with these guys be very careful and I do not recommend to do any deals with these guys. Even at the end of contract me and my wife cleaned the house very carefully, even we washed carpets and everything perfect but they send me a receipt containing of cleaning fees to just not to return my deposit. I am very upset about my experience because me and my wife were working for a year to just saving some money but these guys got all we earned hardly. DO NOT TRUST GREENWAYS APARTMENTS. Thank you

This place is amazing. Super clean, staff is great and super friendly. They are very flexible and do anything they can do to make your stay pleasurable. Maintenance is handled ASAP, which we love. They do a lot to make all resident feel at home. They have holiday parties, pool party and resident appreciation! Would highly recommend this place.

The fitness room is small, but most times there aren't people there so it's a nice space to exercise. The apartment itself is larger than most I viewed in a comparable price point, and the two bathrooms is a luxury I wouldn't want to be without now that I have them! They're extremely clean, and that was something I didn't see in others. I've probably only killed three spiders in my entire time here which, frankly, is worth every penny of rent I pay! Yes, there can be noise from your upstairs neighbor, but it's not bad, and you'll get that anywhere, anyway. I would recommend living in a laundry unit if your apartment does not have a washer/dryer in it - the trek across the parking lot can be chilly in the winter! The only minor cons to this complex I would have are the smaller balconies (which are still nice, though) and the noise from the road if you're in a unit that faces Gary Ave. With the doors closed, you can't hear anything, but trying to sit outside or enjoy a nice day can leave you with traffic noise. It's such a minor issue, and I've kind of gotten used to it, that I wouldn't let it deter me from renting. The parking lots are large, I never have problems finding a spot. The staff are always pleasant to me and greet me by name when I come in. Maintenance always responds within a few days (or sooner, depending on severity) and they let you know when they'll be working in your apartment. Since they've updated the units and the laundry rooms, the place looks great. I can tell they care about making this a place for people to call home. For me, this was the best choice for an apartment in the area, and I know I'll be happy here for a long time!

Greenway apartments is a really nice place. They just renovated a bunch of their apartments and my wife and I were the firsts to benefit. Stainless steel appliances in the kitchen, big television room, bedroom is spacious, and it has 1.5 bathrooms. The laundry is in the building next door which is no issue. The staff is supper friendly, the neighbors are quiet and courteous, the area is safe. The grounds has a grilling area, tennis courts, workout facility, and swimming pool. all around great place, the rent isn't so bad either.

Like a quest for a magical lamp, my apartment search was broad and frustrating! How to find a nice, renovated, convenient, fun, pool-included, large place with great owners is something very difficult in the area; until I discovered the Greenway at Carol Stream. There aren't enough nice things I can say about the management here. They are overly pleasant and willing to go out of their way to help you and make your apartment better. They truly take pride in their service ratings. The renovated models are great and come with dark wood floors, matching cabinets, and stainless steel appliances. I mean this place just looks classy! You get a balcony, a full bath, and another 1/2 bath or 1/2 washer-dryer. What's best is the amount of space. For 800sqft, you'll be paying ~$1,000, which is very competitive for the area. Prospective residents have to pass a minimum earnings requirement and a background check, so that keeps out a lot of the riff raff that you would come across in the area. The location on the newly finished Gary Ave makes a difference too. On a side note, I looked at apartments within a 45 mile radius of Elgin and this was head and shoulders ahead of 15 other serious competitors, especially in Carol Stream! Seriously, be careful south of North Ave. If you have kids, it's right by Glenbard North and feeder elementary and middle schools. Carol Stream's brand new fitness center/weights/pool/indoor track is also within walking distance. They have sports leagues every season and tons of fitness classes too. It's also nestled in a neighborhood in case you want to walk or jog and it's not far from the Illinois Prairie Path. In terms of entertainment, there's a shopping mall, plenty of food joints along Army Trail Rd, and two fun new bars nearby on Gary & Lies! Everyone I've talked to that has lived at the Greenway agrees - it's a great place to stay on the way to bigger things. You've found the diamond in the rough!

Pros I have lived here for three years. The maintenance guys come to fix problems right away and always make sure it's done correctly. Office staff are incredibly friendly. Fitness center and laundry room newly remodeled. New office remodel with places to hang out. Cons Pool is not heated. Last year I could not enjoy the pool at all (tried twice) too cold even on warmer days. Problems with neighbors being loud. I notified office every time, I was told to call police. When I did they came out saying it wasn't THAT loud ("could be worse ") and they left. But that's not the landlord's fault. Bad neighbors happen. If you live in an apartment it's going to happen. You are responsible for a community bill for utilities It is quite expensive. (Depending on how many bedrooms and people living with you. Rent usually goes up every year, like with a lot of places. We moved here because it is one of the best options in the area where you don't have scummy neighborhoods/people. It's expensive but worry free. If something is wrong it will be remedied (within reason) A lot of people complain about not getting security deposit back. In my experience I pay that KNOWING I will never get it back. Think of it like this, you wouldn't move into a gross apartment. If I move to an apartment and the place looks lived in, I'll go elsewhere. Look at your deposit as a payment made to "refresh" the apartment when you leave. All the complaints I've read are reasons I wouldn't move in somewhere (old paint, dirty carpet, broken blinds/appliances) If you're a pet person they do have pet buildings for small dogs (breed restrictions) and you can have cats in any building. I'm sure I'll think of more. You get what you pay for. It's pricey but it's nice.

I just moved out of The Greenway. It was an okay place to live, but the new management is TERRIBLE!!!! They do a horrible job of getting back to you on any issues with your apartment. The rent goes up considerably every time you renew your lease! They also stopped heating the pool to save money. The hallways look like a slum, and when you ask if they can at least paint, they have someone slap a coat of paint on that does not even cover the scuffs and holes in the wall. Also, do not expect to get your security deposit back when you move out. You are expected to leave the apartment exactly as it was when you moved in even if you were there for 3 and a half years!! Expected to clean carpet, paint walls, and fix the blinds that were bent on one corner... The management is very unfair, and I know a lot of my neighbors were also moving out due to all of these issues with the management. I would not move into these apartments unless you like being treated unfairly, and like throwing money in the garbage!

This is one of the best places to live, very friendly staff, quiet neighborhood, close to all activities. Only thing I wanted them to have was the 24-hr fitness center which is not constructed yet. If you are looking for a place to live start here trust me.
