The Grove at Swift Creek Apartments is Great! We love our two bedroom and the walk in closets. We love that the pool is open year around and that maintenance is so good. Alvin is just the sweetest!
I lived here for 2.5 years. Management is extremely unpleasant. Instead of notifying you of late payments so you can pay them accordingly, they wait for the late period to expire and send the bill to court. Maintenance patches things instead of fixing them, such as water pipes under the sink and replacing hot water heaters with old, used ones that made the situation worse. Multiple outdoor stairways leading up to apartments were deteriorating and marked with caution tape when we moved out around July. But they do have the funds to rebuild the leasing office, and turned two garages into a Bicycle Hub to bring in new tenants. The rent increased dramatically and is now comparable to other area apartments with much better amenities and technology upgrades. Upon moving out, I never received contact by email/phone/at all and recently had a new charge to my credit report. Renters beware.
Had no problems until close to move out when management used every slimy tactic to squeeze as much money out of me before I finally got free. Recommend avoiding this complex.
The Grove is nicely tucked away in a wooded area. The buildings are spaced out so it's not rows and rows of apartment buildings and parking lots. The security gate is not fool proof but is a deterrent. Police officers that live in the community patrol the grounds daily which is an added comfort. Apartments are spacious and maintenance is attentive whenever I have add any issues. The office staff are super friendly! No complaints here.

Apartment itself was very satisfying and met all of our needs. However, the management is absolutely terrible. You can pay your rent and utilities on time for two years, never be home besides to sleep, never complain about any of the other tenants and still end up being denied to renew your lease for a third year. The only complaints on our unit were the fact that my girlfriend and I wake up at 0430 and 0530 to get ready for work and we are quiet medical professionals. We were also accused of other situations which made absolutely no sense considering we are usually only there to sleep. All of these recent 5 star reviews are also due to management deciding to hold a “contest” for a monetary gift card. They sent emails out urging tenants to leave reviews on a handful of sites so that they can be entered into a drawing for a gift card. Pretty scummy. If you need a cheap apartment that will get the job done, this will do. If you’re not into scheming management that has absolutely no idea how to satisfy and not push away tenants, look elsewhere. There’s a lot more I can say but the lack of ethics, I believe, is truly worthy of a 1 star review itself.

I've lived at The Grove for almost 3 years and the staff has been pleasant and very attentive to the residents needs. The grounds are kept very well. Safety and work orders are a top priority for the maintenance team. I've never met a more engage management. Everyone seems to be quite happy working and living here. The residents are friendly and the leasing office always has fun activities planned for us. The complex is well maintained and updated with outdoor spaces for our enjoyment. The leasing office is very attentive and always very much communicating with the residents about any issues and the newsletter is very informative. I have lived at the Groves at Swift Creek for 8 years! Very happy to call this my home, love the fact that it has an entrance gate. Besides having a pool, great physical fitness room, business office room beautiful clubhouse and office with a great staff. There are a lot of other great perks. I’ve lived at the Grove at Swift Creek for five years and it’s been nothing but amazing! The leasing office staff always greet you with a smile and are happy to help with anything you may need. The maintenance team responds quickly and are always respectful of the apartment when inside. Even if you just pass them around the complex, they are always friendly! The amenities are top notch and I always feel safe and secure in my home. I can’t imagine living anywhere else!

I have looked at several apartments in this area and can find none with the spacious room sizes as I have here at The Grove. I have enjoyed the pool, outside walking trails and the grill area.

I think the place is fantastic. It feels like home and the fine folks in the office treat you like family. Yes, the rent is a little expensive but well worth the price. There are little perks that they provide that other places don't. It's also not too far from a lot of good places on the southside. Midlothian Turnpike and Hull Street are right around the corner. This place is absolutely amazing. The scenery and the unimaginable view at the grill station. I have been a resident here for 3 years and all I’ve had was wonderful experience with the office staff and the management team. My mother is disabled and has many chronic diseases and they have treated her with nothing but respect and care. They personally installed a screen door for her and have fixed it on more then one account. The management team comes out in the middle of the night just to fix a flood or any problem that we are having. The office staff are very kind to the kids at the bus stop treating them kindly and protecting the neighborhood from the kids next door. They make sure the kids have a way to get through the gate after the get off the bus and on some occasions they would bring out snacks or treat the children to breakfast. They’re very kind to the disabled and kind to those who aren’t if I had any say in if you should come live here if recommend it. The environment is phenomenal and the respect shown is outstanding. If you have an animals or pets I recommend coming here for the free space and the energy it will bring to you and your pet. Almost all dog inclusive and a friendly neighborhood for your furry friend to make some friends. I 10 out of 10 recommend this place!

Love the location and the property. Apartments are very nice and more space for the price than you will find at other apt rentals. Kitchen/bathrooms getting outdated but acceptable.

Relocated to the area recently. Spent MONTHS researching apartments on-line before the move. I was a little apprehensive because it has been over 20 years since I have lived in an apartment. Narrowed the search down to the Grove at Swift Creek and about 6 others. Went to visit each apartment complex on the 'finalist' list. It wasn't even close! We weren't even buckled up in the car after touring the Grove when my daughter announced: "This is it! This is the only place we've seen that feels like home. I could be really happy here." And, we are! The apartment is great. Can't believe the size of the bedrooms and closets. The property is beautiful. With the trees and trails it has a tranquil feel. Other places we looked at felt like a sea of pavement in comparison. The surrounding neighborhood is very lovely but we still appreciate that this is a gated community. The staff at the Grove is friendly, welcoming and responsive -- even after we were hooked. :-) The amenities are lovely and well maintained. The pet policy is AMAZING compared to other apartments. Seeing folks walk their dogs also contributes to the residential, homey feel. You really do forget that this is apartment living. The school bus comes right to the apartment complex making things that much easier in the morning. The original relocation plan was a short apartment stay while learning more about the area before looking for and committing to purchasing a single family home. However, we are already discussing revising that plan and staying longer. It really is THAT lovely here!

I thought I'd add my review since most of the reviews here are outdated. I've lived in this community for over 4 years. Let's say the ones from years ago are valid because it WAS a awesome community. Pros: Amazing amount of space - especially for a 1 bedroom apartment. It's the largest I could find in the area. Great pool. Cons: Office Staff - They constantly make excuses for why things take so long to fixed. Not necessarily friendly - possibly some what clueless. Maintenance - The entire crew doesn't know what it takes to keep a "luxury" property running which makes it no longer a luxury. Do not let the gate fool you, the luxury of the Grove has decreased a lot in a matter of months. I recently moved from a 1 bedroom to a 2 bedroom. Why? Also loved the layout and the amount of space. When I arrived to my "new" apartment, it hadn't been cleaned, there was dried dog pee on the carpet, dog fur/hair EVERYWHERE, and the cabinet doors were warped. The list goes on. There are many new apartments in the area. I fully recommend looking into those, before even visiting the Grove.

We absolutely have had some hiccups as our new maintenance team has gotten adjusted to the property but they are learning very quickly and I feel confident that things will be running smoother than before. Please save yourself the trouble and DO NOT RENT HERE. Four months here so far and we have a repair or noise complaint to report at least once a week. The dishwasher has broken twice. We have now been waiting 2 weeks for a new dishwasher and we have been told to wash our dishes by hand because the dishwasher is leaking under the floor and water is bubbling up through the kitchen tiles. Why am I paying premium rent prices to wash my dishes by hand? The trash compactor has been broken for a week. The Grove sent an email asking people not to put their garbage in the compactor until it is fixed. We tried to play tennis (courts are beside the compactor) and the stench of garbage was sickening. There are garbage bags piled high on the compactor and on the ground everywhere around the compactor. This has to be a health risk. There are at least 6 stray cats hanging around our building alone. They get under the cars in the parking lot and spray, so that when you get in your car it smells like cat "spray". As a result, there are bird and rodent carcasses on the walking surfaces and tennis court. The walls are paper thin, so that when the upstairs neighbor walks in her apartment, it sounds like she is in our apartment. There are spiders and bugs everywhere in spite of supposed regular pest control. The office staff are very friendly, but you can't believe what they say. We have now been given two different dates that the dishwasher would be replaced, neither were fulfilled. We are still waiting 2 weeks later.

Thank you for your feedback. I am so sorry that you have a negative experience at our community. I understand your frustration with the dishwasher and I realize that washing dishes by hand is an inconvenience but I only asked that you did until we could get your brand new dishwasher installed. Also, although you didn't reach out to me directly in regards to the compactor, we sent out multiple communications giving the status and had it repaired within 4 days of it being down. We had asked for an alternative dumpster immediately, so the trash would not pile up, but it did not arrive until after the compactor was repaired. Unfortunately we were at the mercy of the company doing the repairs. Again,we are sorry that these concerns took a little longer than we had hoped for. Relocated with job to this area. Looked at a lot of apartments and this one fit the bill for our family. The pics don't do it justice! Beautiful grounds! The apartments are very spacious and large walk in closets are great! The office staff are friendly and helpful. Whenever I have a maintenance issue, they address it very quickly. They also are very professional and friendly. We have been thoroughly happy with our experience here at The Grove. Can't wait until it warms up to go swimming : )

This is a pleasant place to live. I feel safe and the surroundings have great trails for furry friends. I have found the maintenance folks to be responsive and helpful. The apartments are comfortable, but a little pricey. I have enjoyed my six years of living here.
It has been a couple of weeks and I have had a pleasant enough time. The location is just a couple of minutes from 288 which can reach 360/Hull Street or Midlothian in a few minutes more. I had a couple of minimal maintenance issues and they were handled promptly. The neighborhood and neighbors seem to be pleasant. I look forward to having a continued good/great experience here.
I have called this place home for three years and I absolutely love it. When I first walked on the property, I knew it was right! The staff are so professional and helpful whenever I need anything. They also do a great job of keeping everything updated as far as lawn care and amenities. I love the resort style pool and lounging area too and the grills are accessible all year round. Maintenance is available when you need them and the turn around for them checking out your apartment is short. I love how spacious my apartment is and how quiet the neighborhood is. It's nice that I can relax in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood after a long day of work.
