Walker Ranch Park is a small corner neighborhood in northern San Antonio. Walker Ranch Park is filled with bright, colorful apartments with upgraded features and modern townhomes. The area is best known for being home to the Ranch Historic Landmark Park, which runs through the middle of the neighborhood. This area was once a hub for prehistoric peoples and historians believe the park was used as a tool refitting station, a butchering station, a plant processing station, a hunting camp, a social gathering spot, and more. This area was also once occupied by Spanish soldiers and settlers. Today, Walker Ranch Park is now a popular natural area great for walking and biking. There is also a playground, a small pavilion, and an amphitheater for special events.
Residents of Walker Ranch Park go to nearby Parliament Square in the southern tip of town and nearby Valley View Shopping Center for shopping and dining.

Property Ratings at The Grove
If I could give negative stars I would. We have had a roach and bed bug infestation that was not started in our apartment or by us, they refused to do anything about it and didn’t even tell residents they didn’t have a pest control company anymore despite charging us every month for it. We put in over a dozen requests for pest control that went unanswered. We had to spend over $1000 out of our pocket, two days before our wedding, to have our own pest control company come out and it still didn’t solve the issue because the other units have infestations that haven’t been handled. They ended the contract with the internet provider and didn’t tell a single resident. So at 6 pm on a Sunday we had to call and get our service connected again because the complex management either failed to or didn’t care enough to notify anyone the service would be shut off. Our mailboxes are broken into daily and managements solution of locking doors and a fence took almost 8 months to finish and people still break into the boxes. Two years in a row the AC has gone out multiple times in multiple units and despite the notifications, maintenance requests etc takes days to be solved. Always blaming it on something else or corporate why they haven’t been fixed. Our apartment was in the mid 90s for days at a time and anytime we called the “emergency” line no one ever answered or called us back. There are multiple apartments that have way too many people living in them, I’m taking a dozen people living in a 1 bedroom. They crowd the parking lot, grill on the balconies and are loud all hours of the night every single night. Management has been notified by multiple residents and nothing has been done. Our entire kitchen was unusable for several days because the electricity was messed up and the electrician they finally brought in after days of making requests and calling said the entire apartments electrical should be redone. We have had black mold in our bathroom for months, despite asking for it to be addressed multiple times. At least once a month the water is shut off without notice, the hot water goes out for days at a time and we even had to go without running water for more than 48 hours. We have sent emails to everyone in management and even the corporate management and have received no response or any kind of effort in their part to remedy the multitude of issues their property. Save yourself the constant frustrations, illness and uninhabitable conditions.
DO NOT MOVE HERE, you will regret it once you do. Raggedy apartments, degenerate neighbors who play their circus music for the whole complex to hear with no regard for those around them, management does nothing - in fact gives them preferential treatment, people staying off lease coming and going loudly. Maintenance does the bare minimum and focuses more on getting vacated units ready for new renters instead of fixing issues for existing residents, old air conditioners that never shut off because they're breaking down, management never walks around to see what's going on - in fact they leave early on Fridays ALOT, and broken mailboxes they never seem to make secure. Just a mess.

if you actually read reviews, notice how all the super positive reviews are WAY too professional. super suspect? because they are written by people that run the place. complete trash apartments. dog crap everywhere. A/C always overworking and breaking because of poor insulation. hot water turned off AT LEAST 3 times a year. sometimes for 3 days. I've been here 4 years. it's consistent. area is way too old for what they are asking. absolute degenerate neighbors also.
I have been living here for about 6 months and I couldn’t be happier with this amazing management team!! If anytime I have a concern or make a maintenance request, I can always count on the management team to help and to follow through. The manager is always walking around to say hello and asks if we have any concerns or questions. I also love that they have an Enrichment program! They have all kinds of fun and knowledgeable events. They also work with the food bank and hand out meals to kids in the community. The property is well kept and clean. I have no complaints!

It's a delight to have you as a resident, and we're looking forward to serving you for years to come. Sincerely, Monica F., Community Director - The Grove
I would never recommend that anyone stay in this apartment. There is very little to no communication between the residents and the office. They have terrible customer service in the office especially Monica. She has a terrible attitude and never lets you talk and talks over you whenever you start speaking. They also have terrible communication amongst the people in the office. When ending my lease one person told us one thing and someone else told us another then any time we would ask a question we got different answers. They are also very bad with being timely in their maintenance. I had a maintenance request because my floor was literally peeling away and no one came to fix it until 2 months later. Overall this apartment is terrible and I hope that it gets shut down because it’s very unacceptable.

This is the worst apartment complex to live at. DO NOT MOVE HERE. I have not had AC for the entire year. Monica the manager does nothing but put band aids on the problem. It literally will be 50 degrees outside and 88 degrees in your apartment summer was the worst 105 degrees outside and 98 in my apartment. My light bill is 300 dollars which makes absolutely no sense for not having light fixtures in the living room or bedroom and ac. There is also huge cockroaches that come out of the vents their pest control doesn’t work save yourself the trouble and go buy foggers. Additionally, there was a hole in the roof which Monica called me crazy for thinking I was hearing animals above me when I live on the top floor, there were cats and where there are cats there are mice. I had to call the health inspector to get them to move because they’d send their “pest control” a new guy came out each day of the week and stared at the hole and never did anything. There was also a burglary of the hut where they keep all the window units that THEY DID NOT REPLACE so now they’re going around rotating window units for tenants. “UPGRADED UNITS” yes ok the inside is upgraded not very well by the way, but the apartments were built in the 70s as maintenance will keep telling you so you can “understand” why your sitting in your apartment drenched in sweat. I don’t care if you were built in the 70s that is no excuse for remodeling the inside and not putting in insulation or having firewalls. Oh also firewalls are required! THEY WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. Maintenance is a joke they will go into your apartment a million times a day to fix one thing that at the end of the day does not get fixed. So you’re frustrated from being at work to come home to a bunch of people that will just be back throughout the month because things break the very next day. oh and mind you when you complain it’s hot in your apartment they take heat readings of your walls to make sure it’s 90 degrees in your apartment WHICH IT IS. Privacy is not respected at the grove you’ve been warned. Monica is also very rude she is not a people person which is pretty bad since her job requires empathy. She will not take you seriously and place all your problems on the back burner so call corporate, call corporate as many times as you can. Complain complain complain until you move out. People shouldn’t be living like this.

DO NOT MOVE HERE. Since I have moved in April 2019 I have put in multiple requests for repairs that have not been answered or completed MONTHS LATER. My A/C was out from April 2019 until mid July, which was rough because these are some of the hottest months in San Antonio. My roof has been leaking since late June with no communication or update on when repairs would take place, as of Oct 2019 still have not been updated. Just recently my hot water went out, called multiple times with no communication or help from management, when I went in with my own formal written request I was told the reason they did not communicate or update me was because they were working on it; furthermore the head manager refused to sign my request. Management has been increasing rude with every request for major/necessary repairs and will not communicate whatsoever. I repeat, DO NOT MOVE HERE.

I wish I could give negative stars. You should believe all the reviews and not move into this place. Roaches are a huge problem no matter how many pet control requests you put in because they are so infested. My AC did not work for an entire year. They came out to fix it so many times. It was a joke. They never got professionals to come look, just their staff who clearly had no idea what they were doing. They said because I lived on the 3rd floor, I couldn't expect the AC to work properly..... what? I have a sister and a cousin who live within 5 miles, both on the 3rd floor who have never had a problem with AC before. During the summer months, which is most of the year in SA, the lowest it would get is 76-78 at night. Which is incredibly hot to sleep. It got over 80, even over 90, degrees during the day multiple times. I was actually worried for my pets because of the temperature. They had a different excuse and reason constantly. The office staff is incompetent. It would have been comical how incompetent they were if I wasn't overheating because of it. After a full year, they finally looked into the crawl space to discover that there was ZERO insulation, which is why it couldnt maintain a temperature. 2 months later they still didnt even have anyone set up to come fix it. They told me they didnt have a window unit to install bc so many other apartments needed them as well. The office manager agreed to let me move out a month early because of how awful it was. When I did, the front office staff told my new apartment that I broke my lease. The office manager had to call and correct it because they had agreed to do so because of the awful service. On a side note, they have a community enrichment program that is a scam. I am a nurse and agreed to work for them in exchange for half off my rent. Besides that being a disorganized mess, I basically worked for free. They pay you out as a charity so they get tax breaks but it ends up screwing the employee. I actually ended up paying them to work there.

Where do I start...they moved money around charging cable charges to my rent ..couldn't supply boxes like they used to ...roaches ..worms ...Rollie pollies and spiders ...had encounters of roaches fly on me while I was sleeping...pools always dirty and filthy...dog park is filled with poop..and so is the apartment complex filled with poop as well ...you can smell it as you walk throughout the place...neighbor said he encountered his first scropion...poor neighbor passed away in the apartment and didn't even know it til a month later...I really thought this place was going to be great and peaceful...nope..people have their cats everywhere scratched up the gf trunk...they broke my side mirror...other guy had his fuel stolen from his truck...random people come in to the property to smoke weed etc etc etc etc the list goes on ...let this place be the last resort
We constantly do not have hot water here. Called the emergency number on a Sun and the operator basically was just like oh well we know about the issue but unfortunately can't do anything. So we are unable to take a shower today BC it does not come on at all. Do Not Move Here! Beware!!
I stay at the Grove Apartment complex in San Antonio, Texas. When I first saw these apartments I was excited because they allowed every dog breed and the style and looks of the inside of the apartments intrigued me. After 3 months of living here I am very disappointed that I chose these apartments. Since the moment I moved in there were bugs throughout the whole apartment and still are due to the apartment not filling gaps in the bottom of walls and cabinets. I have had multiple maintanence request for my apartment for 2 months and not once have I had anyone come to my apartment after requesting them multiple times. You can call the office over and over and you will get no answer sometimes even when they are sitting right next to the phones. They are all over the place with management, one person will tell you information and the other will tell you something completely different. I had referred a friend here and was supposed to get money for my rent after the first month and have yet to recieve it. If you want apartments with good management I do not recommend this to anyone.
Zero stars. Absolutely horrific move in experience. I actually signed a lease here, moved out the second day because THESE PEOPLE ARE FRAUDS. Do not trust the office workers, they will tell you and feed you false info in order to get their commission checks. Looking for an updated unit like I was? You won't get one. Whatever pictures you see on the official website are completely false, and their "updated units" have NO ceiling light/fan figures in ANY ROOM! What a joke! Also, bed bugs everywhere, disgusting landscaping, and even more disgusting service. My "move-in ready" apt included: broken porch door that doesn't lock, bathroom sink that wouldn't drain, paper toilet holder detached from wall, heavy stains on toilet and shower, NO BLACK AND WHITE BACKSPLASH THEY PROMISE, and broken fences in the porch, dirt literally EVERYWHERE. Do not attempt to contact anyone at Roscoe Properties, as they use their apartment office workers as their little slaves to let us know "they cannot do anything". Biggest mistake in apartment finding I think I will ever have in my life. I refused to leave the office until my lease was terminated and cancelled, and I will never refer a soul to this sloppy, unprofessional environment.
The Grove has become a great complex to live in and love. The new current staff has shown every month new improvements and appreciation for thier tenants. A new dog park has been built and it even came with a puppy party! Maintenance is done quickly and they even have a phone app to give you easy access to place work orders anytime of day. The app also includes rent payments. The landscaping is kept up with and the apartments are well kept up. Overall the community has improved and the staff is super courteous and helpful!
