Property Ratings at The Halston
I have lived here 2 plus years. Patricia is the manager. She is the only reason I give 5 stars and the only reason I renewed. People leave here because maintenance is terrible. They have new maintenance staff but they are always sitting by the back doing nothing and new office staff two gentleman could care less about any concern you have and rude right when you walk in. The community is quiet and nice. Great location.
Love my new apartment. It's so clean and the kitchen, flooring & bathroom is all updated and very clean!
I have been very happy with the staff at Sanctuary & love my new apartment. The people who live here seem great.
I've been very happy with the new management team. They are really committed to making the place better than the previous group. Love my apartment!
Absolutely do not check this place out! Prices are cheap here for a reason. Management is not on top of their things. Only comment they seem to have is “you can break your lease”. How is that helping ur tenants? I have had my unit bombed twice and sprayed every other week. Still having a roach issue. Seen (5) as of this morning 2/13/2022. Some of our outlets haven’t worked and issues with the water staying consistent.maintenance comes once and has yet to return. Please save yourself the hassle and check out another place!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We work hard to offer all of our residents a great place to call home and we’d love the opportunity to make that happen for you. Please know, we understand your frustration and we’d like to continue collaborating with you to ensure that pests are no longer an issue. If you have any questions, please contact our office. We value your residency and look forward to making your stay wonderful. Sincerely, Christine B., Community Manager SanctuaryMGR@cushwake.com
The manager is worthless. The pools are constantly closed off. One of the laundry rooms has been closed down for months. So you have one laundry facility with half the machines broken too! There are homeless people and drug dealers literally making deals on the property constantly because the gates are out of order constantly. And the rent is not that inexpensive. They have new owners and have raised rents considerably with doing anything meaningful to the property. I would give zero stars if I could.

We are so disappointed to hear about this. We want the best for our residents, so—if you'd allow us—we'd like to set things right. Please take a moment to contact our manager to go over each of your concerns. We appreciate your patience and look forward to turning your experience around. Sincerely, Christine B., Community Manager SanctuaryMGR@cushwake.com
This place is trash. You’ll never sleep or feel safe. There’s college kids that will scream and chug beer literally outside your door every night. And don’t assume that maintenance will actually do their jobs. They leave at 3 every day and don’t work weekends so nothing will ever get fixed in your unit. Even the newly renovated units have busted pipes, leaks, and electrical issues. We only have a handful of working outlets, several leaks, and our bedroom window is being held together by scotch tape (that we didn’t put there). We’ve put in work orders but maintenance cancels them without even trying to contact us. We’re only three months into our lease.
rip off because they lie. Manager claimed monthly would be so much and then it was about $100 higher per month. Then asked to end lease early; no response. No one in the office for months. they did not return calls. Gave notice online that we would be leaving at the end of the lease 3 months early. Went in 45 days early to fill out closing lease, they claimed we did not give notice and had to give 60 day notice. Trying to charge us past our lease agreement!
They really need to re do these pictures and videos to show the upgrades. I've been here a month and I absolutely love my place. We have new flooring, new mailboxes, new stainless steel appliances and no bugs. This complex is located next to a major street but not too much road noise. My neighbors are friendly and fairly quiet for the most part. April in the rental office is amazing. They also every few months or so have cookouts at the pool for the entire complex and give away prizes to keep everyone engaged. I love it here and I already plan to renew my lease. I also like the way the rental office stays in constant communication with us as far as everything going on. They don't just want your rent money they really care about you as a person. The leasing office is currently being renovated and I'm excited to see what the finished product will be.

Our team strives to deliver an excellent experience, and are glad you found this to be the case as a resident. If you have further needs or questions, please reach out! Have a wonderful day!
I've been here 2 years and can't wait to move! Roaches all the time, even after being sprayed for. Washer/dryer leaked and replaced with another used one that still leaks to downstairs unit. Pool/spa was "under construction" most of summer and spa still doesn't work. When this place was bought out a few months ago, the new manager is rude and maintenance has changed so much because of her. They cared in the dumpsters and now when you drive through your almost get hit by other cars or the doors that are always open. Sure, they've upgraded, but all that did was raise costs. They can never find packages that get delivered to the office and hate that you are bothering them by asking for your mail in the first place. Pool is always locked on Sunday and the second pool is green always. Don't move here!!!

Hi there, we appreciate your honest feedback, as we are always looking for ways to improve. Here at Sanctuary on Broadway, we are always looking for ways to improve; we appreciate your input. If you would be willing, we would like to have you contact us at (480) 966-7288 to discuss ways we can better serve you in the future. Thank you and have a great day!!
Since I’ve lived here, we’ve had roaches coming out of the vents, trash raining down from the upper levels, a leaky sink that they haven’t fixed, a leaky vent in the bathroom that they haven’t fixed, and worst of all, our bedroom window wasn’t installed properly, and all of the water leaking in has created mold. When I went to the office today and asked if we could terminate our lease with less than a month remaining, we were told no. Do not live here. The location is nice, but god forbid you ever need to talk to the office.
First off if you hate cockroaches just skip. I live on the third floor and still see at worst one a week. Security here is awful, gates are never locked. Constant water shut offs, also the pool hasn’t been available in months for “renovation” except all they did was drain it and leave it like that. The washer and dryer have managed to destroy most my clothes. Management is nice at least. Last complaint, at one point they had pigeon traps on the roofs and the birds ended up getting cooked and that was sad. The only thing that kept me here is 1. You need to give two months notice to leave and pay off the remaining months you have left on your lease. 2. The rent is pretty cheap and in a convenient location. Can’t wait for my lease to be up.
I love the new management and staff they get things done quickly with no problems. love the location and how the apartments are layed out. no bugs, roaches , scorpions I've been here three years haven't seen a one, i definitely recommend this place.
Every time I have ever had anything that needed to be fixed it was taken care of that day. I love the girls in the office they are very down to earth and have always been helpful. Since I have moved here I have not had any problems with bugs which is a first for me. I would definitely recommend this complex.
We have lived in this complex for almost 6 years and have seen management change hands. We were concerned when we got a new company "Anzio". But will say they have been really good. With the approach of record high temps in Tempe we woke up to an air conditioner on the fritz. Very concerning indeed. We contacted the office and everything was fixed and running before lunch time :) WTG! We are really impressed at how quickly the problem was solved. Our apartment never got over 80 degrees. Yes they are older than most in the area but that is okay as long as they fix things when they go down without hesitations or excuses.
I've scoured the Tempe and Phoenix area for the better part of three months looking for an apartment that fit the bill in terms of price, amenities and safety. Price wise, Anzio is a great value. The apartment is spacious, a ton of storage, decent appliances and fairly soundproof. The door leading outside actually let's more sound in than will come through the walls. The complex itself is gated and quiet. I've walked to my apartment at various times throughout the night and never felt unsafe. The only real complaint I have is how small the bathroom is. You can barely close the door while you are in there. Overall, it is a great place to live.
Trying to find an apartment with enough closrt space is hard. i have my own walk in craft closet in addition to yhe double bedroom closets. The ceramic tile floors throughout the kitchen bathroom and living ares are easy to clean and keep cool during hot summers. I love living so close tto great resturaunts and the freeway for convience of work. Since we have a gated community the 24 hour laundry facilities are safe and clean. Covered parking near family barbeque areas near spacious pool.
The fact that these apartments were built in the late 60's, they are in better shape than some that I have seen in the Tempe Az area. The owners at one time applied for a permit to tear down and rebuild was denied to them. There is 2 pools, 2 laundry rooms, which is a good thing. The overall rating that I would give to them is a 7 out of 10. This is in consideration of their age, and up keep of them. They had a redo of the inside of the apartments, a couple of years ago. The one good thing going for the apartments is that there is buss stops for some of the major shopping centers, close to grocery stores. Somewhat close to the "light rail" system. The picnic areas could use some improvements, better cooking "bbq's"
The new management is awful, and the staff that came with it seem like they can't be bothered by us mere renters. As the other person posted, there are unattended children EVERYWHERE. There are also apartments that seem to have their entire extended family over on weekends with banda music playing all night. The hot water randomly doesn't work as well. I've lived here about six months, and it happens about once a month. I'll go to turn the faucet on and nothing will come out. It just happened and I went to call the office (during office hours) to report it and no one answered either the office or maintenance phone number. There are ants. I keep the kitchen spotless, but the second ANYTHING (food or not) is on the counter they all come out and I cannot find the source. And they can't be bothered to fix the gate around the complex. Its often wide open at 1-3 am; the time you'd want it closed! And the code only opens the eastern gate about half the time. All in all, keep looking.
