Property Ratings at The Hammocks Off Newberry
When I first signed my lease I signed for a nice looking apartment. The first day of move in my ROOF fell in and there was an open hole in the roof due to raccoons being in the attic. They moved us into the dirtiest and ugliest apartment they had near by that was filled with bugs. A month goes by the apartment was still not ready so they moved us into the unit below (not what i signed for). The medicine cabinet was completely rusted over and some of the wood on the floor was coming off. Considering I didn’t have a choice, I accepted it. Two weeks later they fixed the apartment I originally signed for in a couple days and moved someone in all within a week. The management made everything so much worse. Instead of calling to check up on me and keep me updated on what was happening they ignored me for weeks. When I went to go pay rent for the new unit I moved into, I noticed that my rent was double what I usually pay because they were claiming I did not pay last months rent. I went to the front office to speak to Tracy & she explained to me that they were just transferring the units & it was nothing to worry about. 2 days later the same Tracy walked herself to my apartment to give me an eviction notice. If she would have checked the computer or made any notes about what happened prior to my move in she would have informed herself on the situation and noticed that my rent was up to date and SHE made a mistake (mind you I went up there to speak to her about my rent being paid but it was not showing up on the portal and she said everything was fine and I had nothing to worry about). Last week I noticed that my rent had went up AGAIN!! I called to see what that was about and i was informed that they have been paying my GRU bill and I was still paying for the apartment they had given me after my roof caved in. Instead of informing me or letting me know the wonderful tracy started adding the charges to my rent without any notice or explanation. I had to yet again call her and ask her why she was adding charges to my rent. I am to the point of seeking legal action to break my lease bc i am so unhappy living here. Please save yourself the headache and find somewhere where you are going to be valued and respected as a tenant bc the management is worse than the place itself.
Love my new home, it is a great location and staff are very helpful.
Management is awesome, maintenance is great, it's close to the mall, schools and hospitals... I've been living here for 10 years and I don't have any complaints.
If you rent here, you will regret it within a month. The maintenance is slow to get requests (took them 4 months to fix a request I put in the first week I moved in), there are roaches EVERYWHERE, no matter how clean the apartment. We clean our tables, or counter tops, our cabinets, dont keep open food anywhere and there are still plenty of roaches because they do not do pest control. The laundry room has been 'under construction' since September. It was supposed to be finished on the 20th of September, but now it is December 18 and it is still not even halfway finished. DO NOT RENT HERE YOU WILL HAVE ROACHES IN EVERY PART OF YOUR APARTMENT.

Maintenance sucks and the laundry room has been out of use for months and still not being fixed. Overpriced for what it actually is and mold growing on vents! Absolutely unacceptable DO NOT LIVE HERE!

I haven't been living here long, but so far I have loved it! The laundry room is kept clean, the pool is cleaned every day, and the neighbors are great!
Fox Hollow is a great place to live. The neighborhood is quiet and the pool is very relaxing.
